@StuartMB68 Wikipedia seems to think it was Old Trafford, and that Wembley didn't become the permanent venue until 1974, with the Keegan-Bremner fight.
@StuartMB68 The Charity Shield used to be a home friendly for the league champions. As said, 1974 was the first year it was played at the neutral Wembley Stadium.
@danb93kd Stuff like what? The goal? Paul Robinson scored one like this vs Watford in 2007! And it's not one of the 'best' goals in the history of football. It's a complete fluke.
@kisbie I uploaded this video on my brothers account before I had my own; he's not really into football but just wanted to comment on the 100,000 odd viewed video on his account, just don't take the comment seriously. As for the 'best goal' bit, I wrote that; I know it was a fluke but any goal from your own 6 yard box is awesome from my perspective
I had to replay that a few times before I could see the ball bounce. For such a long kick it didn't bounce much did it, must have been a soggy pitch. Kick ass either way.
Evertons keeper Tim Howard scored one very similar to this the other day! Check it out!!

So weird that they didn't wear gloves back then, not saying it's bad just unusual to me seeing as I wasn't around to witness it.

If this was the charity shield then where was it played? It seems for sure it wasn't Wembley.

normally a keeper would score from a free-kick or goal kick, but not normally from their hands.

The Northern Irish keeper in the Spotflick penalty kick game bears an uncanny resemblance to big Pat. He is pretty tough to beat too!

Pat jennings from Northern ireland is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

I was playing cricket in Sale two miles away. I'm not a ball of seasoned chopped liver or a bundle of sticks and I like women.

Very similar to Peter Shilton's goal for Leicester against Southampton at The Dell in October 1967 in League Division 1.
The ball bounced over the Southampton keeper's head (Campbell Forsyth).
