@cuteveemon Technically there are 2 males you play as but they aren't human. The little girl with purple hair Eko fights with drawings she brings to life so her "brother" the green doodle fights for her while carrying her on his shoulder and shapeshifting his body parts to fight. Another is Toriko who fights with her demon cat that turns into a staff called Mike, Mike tends to end up dragging her around the screen when fighting since he can fly a little and stretch himself across he screen.

@kailthous Blazblue was more derived from Guilty gear, being its spiritual sucessor.

I recommend giving one of its incarnations a try, Accent core (plus) may be your best bet for ps2 or even psp download.

@kailthous blazblue came out not long after the first Arcana Heart and generally its a bit better tbh. especially Continuum Shift
