  • nice truck,with good sound.

  • i love my ford, but man i hate the c6 transmissions.. they wont downshift no matter what just about lol.

  • COOL TRUCK

  • Good video. I like to see everyday natural condition trucks like yours, and I like the way you filmed it. Good job and it sounds awesome. I have a '77 F350 dually with a 400 2 barrel, that I want to sound like yours even though mine will never be a hotrod!

  • love the vid i hammer my truck like that goin through town lol and i set off a car alarm by the vibration lol i got a 351m with hooker headers and cherry bombs same sounds though

  • my god that truck looks bad but she runs perfect gota love ford nice truck man

  • hey bud that ol pickup sure does have a good tone!! Are these headers full length or shorty's and also by andy chance do you konow the serial numbers on them id like to get a set for my 72 chevy! thank you

  • @Hlindeen

    They are full length headers.

Here is the part number H5689360.

Just an fyi I couldn't find them on Hedman's website but found them on a dealers site.

  • Hey thanks do you know what website you purchased them from and possibly could you send me a picture of what they look like? Thank you.

  • @Hlindeen

I didn't purchase them from a website. I got them from a local racing parts store which has since gone out of business.

From being unable to find them via Hedman's website leads me to believe they no longer make them or have come up with a newer version.

    Good luck in your search.

  • i'm not much of a ford guy but nice video your truck sounds awesome

  • nicest truck ever!

  • When I was looking for an old school truck I wanted that body style but I couldn't find one in decent condition so I ended up with the next body style, an '85. It has a 351 and dual Flowmaster mufflers. Check out my vids.

  • sounds good

  • nice sound!!!

  • I just bought an old 1977 F-150 from my neighbor, almost no rust on the body, recently rebuilt Boss 302 motor with Holley carb, cruise-o-matic 5 rebuilt, it needs a little work done to it but nothing major, new paint job, only has 67,000 miles since rebuild. got it for 800 bucks, any tips or advice is greatly appreciated on rest etc from yall since I dont know that much about those older Fords, yours sounds really good in the vid though, that thing is a beast lol.

  • How big of a carburator is it using? Is the motor really tuned up or just mildly like mine? Last thing I really should mention it sounds like you got a great deal, but I have never heard a good thing about those cruise-o-matics. The fact that is recently rebuilt means it won't be much of an issue, but I felt you should know that.

  • I've got an 87 F150 with the 300 I6 and was looking into the Hedman Headers for it. But I'm not doing any other exhaust mod beside the header, at least not for now. What ya think?

The truck sounds good man, no doubt.

  • I personally prefer using a muffler design called "chambered mufflers". They are basically a straight pipe with kinks in it to give the motor a very deep bass sound. They also don't crackle and pop as much as glasspacks at high revs. They just keep the nice deep tone.

I've heard them on vehicles with and without cats and they sound about the same, just a difference in volume.

  • A lot of companies make these mufflers, but I believe the ones I bought were around $30-$40 dollars for two 24" models. The brand doesn't really matter when it comes to these as they are really just striaght pipe with crimps.

  • @Mako276 why is that truck so loud?? you should check mine out.. its got headers, cam, true dual glasspacks with no cats of course. I think its cause mines a 3" system.

  • sounds mean as hell

  • incredible sound man, i have a 360 in mine, how long are the glass packs? and are those headers long tubes? if so was it a tight fight? again, great sound

  • I don't recall how long the glasspacks were but I replaced them with chambered mufflers which were 24" long and they were about the same length. Yes, those are full length headers. No, it was not an issue putting them on. The only thing that might be a problem is if your truck has the optional AC which runs lots of hoses from the passenger side of the engine bay to other places.

  • What the fuck you put for an engine in it?

  • It is the stock engine with a bigger cam and all of the "smog" equipment removed.

351M. It's been bored over .30 in the rebuilding process so its more 359 c.i. now.

  • What is the 351M? All i know for 351engines is the 351W and the 351C

  • 351 m-block (m=modified). IT uses a big block but smaller heads an what not. They tried to combine like the 351w and 400m or something like that. Correct me if i'm wrong. Its obviously a torque/boat pulling engine since its got a big block + small heads, if you woke up the top end a bit it can be a great engine.

  • It is actually the same block as the 351C. Ford took a 351C and in the early 70's gave it a long stroke, taller deck, larger main journals, and longer connecting rods creating the Ford 400. In 1973 after strict emissions standards went into effect the 351C was discontinued. In 1975 Ford was needing a small big block to use in it's line of light-duty trucks.

    CONTINUED......

  • They took a 400 and cut back it's extremely long stroke which btw is 4.0" long, longer than the 429 and the 460 stock. In order for the shortened stroke to work they need to create special pistons that are unique to the 351M. Thus because of the larger main journals, taller deck, and long connecting rods, it couldn't be called a 351C so it became the 351M.

    CONTINUED....

  • However, for a number of years after the creation of the 351M Ford didn't bothered to tell people that it was NOT the 351C. This led many people to believe that they had a 351C in their truck or car. In fact Ford has never explained the meaning the "M" in the 351M, some say that it stands for Michigan where most the blocks were cast and others that it stands for Modified as it is a "modified" from a 400.

  • its a 351 Modified

  • that thing sounds AWESOME

  • Thank you.

  • sounds good man thanks for being one in 999999999999 that actually gets on it wen they drive..moves pretty good for the age

  • I can't believe that that ford still works, usually a day after you buy a ford it breaks down.

  • I've never understood this "brand loyalty" thing. My dad drives a Dodge, my mother a Jaguar, and my brother a Buick.

Does it really matter what brand a car is as long it's does what it supposed to do?

  • as long as its NOTa chevy, haha.

Fords rock man. sorry if i just ruined the point you just made.

  • you obviously dont know anything about a ford, if you think they break down all the time. My old ranger had 348k miles on it before i got rid of it

  • those r the fords u still see on the road includin my 96 with 170k miles

  • How in the did you get it to sound that loud? I just put on new true dual glasspacks on. Only Glasspacks... and it sounds like shit..

  • You don't mention the size of the pipe on the exhaust or if it has headers. That will make a difference in how loud it is.

Also my truck has a larger than stock cam.

  • shit that thing sounds nice

  • sounds sweet. does it have mufflers?

  • Just glasspacks.
