  • Great playing! All guitars sound really good in your hands.

Do you prefer a high actions on all guitars or just on this one

  • I already play bass and I was wondering if this is a good beginner guitar. Also, I was wondering how versatile it is, I normally listen to indie rock and punk so it's not that big of a deal, just would be a good thing to know. Thanks in advance.

  • @Orangemongoose1 Sure, this guitar works for almost anything. Well maybe not metal.

  • very nice

  • Sounds very nice! I've entertained the idea of getting one. Robert, you'd make a Sears guitar sound good! ;-)

  • Nice one Rob. You've coaxed me back :) What is the riff you play starting at 1:38. I'm sure I know it. Just cant put my finger on it. Would love a lesson for that one.

    Cheers

    Mark

  • @markfromoz I was just noodling. There's probably hundreds of songs with that progression.

  • Sounds like a million bucks for about $600 worth of gear! NICE!!

    J5

  • this sound too good. You need a really good amp and pedals to make it sound like this...

  • Anyone know the tonal difference between the Classic Vibe 50's and the Classic Vibe Custom? Is there any?

  • @Circuitboardsoul don't think their is a diff between the cv50's and the cv custom tone wise. the custom just has a bound body. but there is one between the cv 50's and 60's. the 60's is warmer and rounder than the 50's which is brighter... alnico V (warmer) vs alnico III (brighter)... I think!??

  • i have this guitar but it hums badly, how can i get rid of the hum ?

  • @name1599 you will get that from single coil pickups, in my opinion the best way to handle it is to use a Noise Suppressor pedal. I use one made by Boss, works great for me!

    J5

  • @name1599 Switch out dem pickups and get yourself a pair of Fender Vintage Noiseless. That's what I did on mine, and it sounds bootyfull.

  • @name1599 you could shield the hell out of all the cavities and pickguard with copper foil shielding or spray paint (cavity only) shielding. and make sure the wiring is grounded properly, look on stewmac.com

  • I have that guitar. Love it a lot!

  • Nice demo man good job!

  • 1 dislike probably owns an epiphone

  • Hi i can't decide to get this or Epiphone Les Paul anyone help?

  • Comment removed

  • @114Greg omg, two diferent guitars. If you want help please give more especifications

  • @114Greg depends what you like also there are alot of epi lps be more specific?

  • @114Greg if you're playing country/blues, get the Tele. If you're playing rock, go with the Les paul

  • @114Greg They are both really different, it really depents on the music you want to play.

  • I heard that these guitars have 1/4 sawn neck. Can you confirm?

  • 3 pickups?

  • can u do punk ,rock, indie rock ,and alternative rock on this guitar ? plz tell me cause i wanna buy this very soon :)

i don't play country and jazz and blues that much... :D :D

i love rock and roll :D

btw u are great guitarist !!! ur video made me to buy this beautiful tele :D

  • Thanx for your great demo's. You have really progressed in your video's, they get better all the time....

Got the CV tele in butterscotch with the alnico 5's. Played side by side to my MIA 2004 Tele. The MIA has a bit more output but the CV has a real sweet woody sound. I have a '52 reissue also and sometimes I forget which one I am playing when I play the CV next to it.

  • Very nice test Robert, i like that guitar. The amp sound really good, what do you say if a change the electronic of mi squier affinitty can mod mio tone like you?

  • Hi mate,How fat si the neck? have any idea if there is a classic vibe tele with fat maybe D profile neck? Thanks

  • What a beautiful tele! Gotta love em!

  • This or the SX telecaster copy?

  • @TomHopkins24

    Without a doubt this one.

  • I just--a couple of hours ago--bought one of these (Butterscotch Blonde, motherfucker!) for $220 on Craigslist. Thank you, bad economy!!!

It's easily as good as an MIM Fender. Still, I'm going to eventually replace everything on it including the neck and wiring (that's what Squiers are for!) I really want a much much fatter soft-V profile neck w/ a 7.25" radius... as opposed to the 9½" radius-ed comparatively thin neck on this one. I might put a GFS mini-"filtertron" in the neck position.

  • Hi Robert, great review i was wondering because i'm about to get myself a telecaster if i should go mexican standard tele or squier classic vibe... any advice? should a go squier even when is cheaper? thanks for the help regards from Costa Rica

  • @r17o08b Good question - either is good. I think the Squier sounds just as good as a Fender, IF you get a good one. Quality control is not consistent so you should try several, and buy the one that sounds and feel the best. There can be a huge difference from one guitar to another, even though the model is the same.

  • @rotren Ya I remember when I knew someone with a mexican standard. I got inspired to get one too, but it ended up having a beefier tone, surprisingly. I was after a twangy sound, but ended up getting otherwise. Guitars sure are inconsistent like that.

  • @rotren Per the Mexican Strat vs Squier Deluxe Strat.. its been said the QC on the latter is far greater and more consistent. I have a Squier Jagmaster and it has always played great.. no problems. I did do a p/u upgrade to some Seymour Duncan 59's.. even though the Duncan Designed stock p/u's sounded great :-)

  • great guitar, and great demo + playing! :D

  • @takatakboy Thank you!

  • That was very entertaining.... I think I may have to get one of those, been thinking of it anyways...........

  • Robert Plays good on any Guitar!!!

I've got CV50 after this video and love it...

Especially slim neck suited my hands better than my american standard Strat and I must say this cv50 doesnt feel cheap or Chinese ar all!!! :D

  • @TheUnbelievable85 Glad you like it!

  • @TheUnbelievable85 Got an american standard strat myself! Lookin for a new axe with a slimmer neck...I really like the squier classic vibe models, do you know if all the models have slimmer neck than the USA Strat?

    Thank you

  • what song is this on 1:00? sounds great

  • Seems to have that great tele snap at about half the price.

    Great playing, cheers.

  • I'm looking for a good tele that gets twangy would this be better than the Mexican made tele? Amazing demo but seems a little too warm for my liking

  • @EvanN108 Matter of preference - try both and see what you like. I like the neck on the Mexican tele better, personally.

  • @EvanN108 try a fender american made tele i have one and it gets twangy and distorted

  • @EvanN108 hey dude, jsut wanted to say- on a peavey vypyr, with 12 different amp models, it sounds a heap different on each one! fender twin+duluxe amps are really twangy and bright, whereas the marshall and plexi's sound warm and dull, the pups are really great

  • @ravenshield56 Good idea, thanks man!

  • my god its microsoft sam

  • LOL I WAS TEH FIRST DISLIKE HAHA

  • some people say the body of that guitar is really easy to damage. would you say it's fragile?

  • @brainstormer9 Nope, haven't noticed it being fragile, although I take good care of my guitars. I'll let you know what happens if I ever drop it.

  • @dolphinstreetguitar ok thanks :)

  • Robert, Great demo! I was on the fence about buying one of these but your video convinced me. My new Blonde 50s CV tele actually plays and sounds better than the late 70's Fender tele I had 20 years ago.

  • @neutronrobot Thanks, and enjoy!

  • flawless playing, you are truly an excellent guitar player!!!

  • @jamontoastst I hear flaws in my playing... hehe, but thanks a lot for the nice comments!

  • i have this guitar, love it!

  • I love this guitar... I have had one since they came out. The metal used on the pickup cover on the neck, and control plate is very cheap... It has began to tarnish and lose all of its shine after this long... BUT that is not a complaint from me. It makes it look even older than it is, more rustic etc. May have to buy one of the new Butterscotch ones theyre making now.

  • There is a reason why there is 110 likes and 0 dislikes every video is simply wonderful!

  • tthe guitar teacher of one of my friends have this one, i played some Slayer on it XD it was fun

  • You really make this relatively modest gear sound sweet!

  • @englishdeltajazz Thanks!

  • I have a squier 50's tele and its fantastic, works surprisingly well for a grunge tone once you set your amp up properly.

  • niceee

  • You really get amazing sonic variations from this simple set-up, congrats and thanks for this nice demo!

BTW, this demo provides yet more evidence that a most important component of every guitar's sound are the player's fingers ;-)

  • @Tom53KL Thanks so much.

  • Great demo, would love to hear the same set-up with a Squier CV Tele Thinline.

    Greetings,

    Peter

  • I'd get one if it wasn't made out of crap pinewood. At least give us like a cheap as maple body or something.

  • @RocktronGamer From what ive read the earlier teles were made out of pine and its actually brighter than said maple ... tele players play teles for that spank and bright sound ........def see where your coming from but its all up to your ear

  • @Bunn4Funn You are quite right, the prototype Tele' the one with three machine-heads each side of the 'snake-head' headstock, and some of the first production Tele's had a pine-wood body (some were sprayed black). But after complaints that the pine body was too soft and easily damaged, they quickly moved to a harder wood (ash).

  • Great sound!

  • Sweet playin, man! I love the tone as well - I was lookin at a local deal on a PJr. - you just sealed the deal for someonoe - lol.

  • Great demo, great licks. Really showed the variety of what a good player can do with simple tools.

You just convinced me not to spend twice as much... now I can afford a looper too.

  • Veeery nice demo. Like the way you are able to show it's versatility instead of the typical guitar douche who just plays the stupid blues ;)

  • I played one on a 6505 high gain and I was impressed! sounded great!

  • @milovancavka1992

I'm not sure the monkey is the one you think.

  • @LostOrpheus thats jargon! :P

  • @milovancavka1992 cuj ovog kralja

  • @milovancavka1992

    Jdsfo sdpoio jdioie asoeib jdjie!!

  • I absolutely love your style of playing. I'm almost ready to pick one up. Trading a Squire Standard Tele for it.

  • I absolutely love your style of playing.

  • hi there why do you likethe pickups ?

  • pine wood , is that nice body wood?

  • Great videos! You're playing is incredible!

  • i want squier telecuster

  • You are really great guitarist! Thanks for the videos.

  • Can anyone tell me what he's playing from 1:42 - 1:58? Or is it just improv? I swear I've heard it before.

  • @YourHomeWorkAteMyDog Sounds like When I Come Around from Green Day to me.

  • @YourHomeWorkAteMyDog Just a simple I-V-VI-IV. 90% of popular music uses this same chord progression.

  • @YourHomeWorkAteMyDog Joe Bonamassa - Miss you, hate you from New Day Yesterday album

  • Pine body O_o

  • @henrytdsimmons

The 1949 prototype of the telecaster, affectionately known as the "snake head" because of its distinctive headstock, had a body made out of pine. So do the new replicas of the snake head, and those cost several thousand dollars.

  • Great demo!

  • hi can someone pleaseee tell me what is the name of the squier tele which have humbuckers at the neck and normal single coils at the bridge?

  • @stjustin Fender squier vintage mod SH.Are availabel at musik productiv, thomann ciberstore and dolphin music for ex.

  • @stjustin not sure if there's a squier version but I have the Fender Telecaster 72 Custom. It's a great guitar!

  • nice sound.. i think i will buy one.. im starter

  • Just so you guys know breaking benjamins aaron fink uses practically the same guitar.

  • It's better than a few USA's I've played. Love this guitar.

  • @TheRobGD its better than all the USA teles i played except for the 52 reissue. this is a very nice guitar. I played tele after tele for a few months before i got this one.

  • Tone is incredible! :)

  • Ok, I just watched the vid again. This thing sounds incredible!! I am not sure I could tell it apart from the fender MIM's in a blind test! Just awesome!! And great playing Robert!!!

  • Alright! Thank you very much for answering. I am going to go see about testing one. I've always played strats. You know, a Les Paul or SG here and there, but mostly strats. I have been itching for a tele for a while now. If all goes well, this could be it! Thanks again, bro!

  • a poly finished neck and maple fingerboard are not phony looking. fenders were made that way before all this satin finish neck stuff started when eddie scraped the finish off of the back of his neck. the nut is the same size as all of my fender nuts. and smaller frets all go along with the idea that this is a classic series guitar. check your hot rodded specs at the door and take it for what it is.

  • Wow, I'm impressed... all I want to know is does the Squier stay in tune? Demos can be deceiving in this way.(if I can make an out of tune guitar sound in tune, I'm sure others can, too.)

  • @shango02005 mine stays in tune great. it has split post tuners, and they lock the string in the post. just make sure to string it up and get a few winds on the post and its stable as hell. havent had to tune mine for days, and i play it about 3 hours a day. i've got a few vids up here about this guitar, but my playing isn't nearly as good as robert's. its got a great sound, and plays awesome once it was set up at home. i never judge a guitar in the store on setup, since its something i change.

  • @chrisshootsicd

I agree, mine stays in tune just fine, nice guitar

  • does the guitar have glossed frets?

  • are you swedish?

  • Hi Robert. Based on your good opinion of the Squier Classic Vibe 50s tele (and others'), I checked it out today at my local music shop. I have to say I was disappointed.

Its worst point is its neck. It's light-yellow (to give it a classic vibe, I suppose), covered in poly finish, including the fingerboard. It's ugly, phony-looking, and rather sticky under hand.

The frets were narrow and low. The nut also was narrow, and cheap.

To be fair, its sound did compete with the Fenders.

  • @povonodo maybe it was like, a "rotten tomato". the one i checked out was very fender-like in terms of sound, setup, and material. have a good day. :)

  • @lastkiz13 That crossed my mind. It seemed unlikely that Robert would approve of a shoddy guitar. Also, it looks like the neck of his tele is less tinted that the one I tried. Weird. Perhaps I'll have to give the CV 50s Tele another shot.

  • Sounds amazing. Great playing once again proves tone is in the hands, and price does not necessarily equal quality. Played the CV Custom in a music store recently, and was blown away by how great it felt and sounded. I'm shocked to admit it was the equal of a couple of American Deluxe models that were in the store at the time.

  • I have a American deluxe ash tele 2200$ guitar, and this sound really good, probably some difference but you can´t tell that easy

  • Alot to learn from you!! Thank you!!!

  • Not bad...

  • That was awsome!!!

I have a PRS, but i want to by this Squier =)

I have a question, what do you play at 2:50 ?

  • Fantastic demo Robert. This guitar amp covers a lot of ground doesn't it. Add a couple of pedals and its so versatile.

  • great sound!

  • Pine body like a custom shop broadcaster

  • Hey Robert, i agree that you should deffo do a video on those short demo tunes if you find yourself bored :)

  • pine body...NICE!!!!

  • you do look so young with the guitar in your hands! :)

really enjoyed your playing! keept it posting!

  • great skill~!

  • love it! you should create a lesson of that tune or the chords, do it please!

  • seriously, i learn so many things just by watching you noodle on your guitar. thanks a lot robert.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video! I really like the simple setup for the demo and how you ran though all the settings. I've tried a few of these and I'm always impressed.

  • great love the sound! :-)

  • Hey Robert, I have an idea for a new video how about you make a video about the (different) microphone(s) you use ?

    Cheers

    Rob

  • @Esparoba1 Or generaly how you achived such a good sound in your records.

  • @Esparoba1 i think he might have done that before

  • @Esparoba1 Hmm, one day I'll probably do that, thanks for the suggestion!

  • i'm going to buy that one

  • i didn't really expect that from a squire, pretty sweet find.

  • robert you need to get an Ibanez, they are pretty cool!

  • @HitaroX lol he is very good but i think he prefers guitars for a clean sound, or just jazz, blues etc i doubt he is focasing on metal.

  • You pretty much own every single sweet guitar out there don't you?
