@deslo778 Yeah, it was for a music festival.. the vocals remain the same, but the audio was re-mastered/engineered and such. Welsh lyrics only sound good with it
Also who cares when it was made or who it was made for enjoy it Bungie obviously thought it was good if it was already out and if they made it themselves good for them they did an amazing job
I love how we r arguing about all of this whose better BS and not talking about how amazing the games are and how the music makes u feel like ur right there with the ODSTs think about it
@MrKilomania this song was actually on a CD from a cafe in Ibiza, Spain. The CD contained music that that was played in the cafe. The CD was released in 2005, four years before ODST.
@ww2soldier11 ya ik so many ppl are saying that ODST sucks and that spartans are better but ODST is awesome and i like being more stealthy and quiet then runnig like a physcho into the middle of a like spartans do..........
@timeboy09 Spartan I. Doesn't really count, considering he's more capable than Master Chief himself - he survived all of the events in pure Marine armor, whereas the Chief had to use power armor. I don't know, but seems like he deserves a higher rank than the Chief.
Oh, by the way - he's older than the Chief. And no steroids, either. :|
@TANSKBD ugh I'm sorry but you just plucked one of my nerd nerves. In no way, shape, or form is Sgt. Johnson more capable than the Master Chief. I shouldn't even have to argue this. >_<
@TANSKBD Master chief like destroyed entire fleets of covenant, and as anyone who played halo CE remembers all johnson ever did was die and then mysteriously come back to life 4 levels later.
@55jubjub Eh, Halo CE's legendary ending was non-canon. And he single-handedly killed an entire horde of Flood. Read the Halo Graphic Novel. He made the first three kills in the Human-Covenant War. Read the novel "Contact Harvest". He survived Halo Wars, Reach, 1, 2 and 3. His body is immune to the Flood, as opposed to the Chief, who has all his steroids.
Johnson achieved more than the Chief, because of the mere fact that he wasn't amped up like the Chief was. But this debate is fun.
@TANSKBD ... But Chief isnt full of Steroids. Since your recommending books, I suggest Fall of Reach. They were Bio-augmented, trained from the age of six, super soldiers. A huge part of why the spartains pulled off everything that they did was because they had been together their whole lives, knew how each other thought, and were enhanced with the best the UNSC had to offer. Which wasnt steroids. It was a bit more complex. Steroids wont let you and your team survive a fall from Orbit.
@KNDReaper Hate to burst your bubble, but I have read the book. And the idea of abducting kids and making them soldiers doesn't sit well with me. I mean, just because they killed so many doesn't justify the fact that you stole them from their families. Their bio-augmentations killed off nearly half of them, and crippled quite a few others. And for a matter of fact, the team didn't survive the fall. Three or five Spartans died - the highest Spartans casualties in a single act ever.
@TANSKBD 4 or them died, I believe 12 were wounded to heavily to be combat effective. Considering if it were anyone but them, all would have died, I would call it surviving the fall. As for the whole Child Soldier thing being bad. Well.. Yea, its morally wrong, sick, and abuse of the UNSC's power, but I still see why they did it, and agree with their choice. In the end, even with out the covenant, it would have still saved lives.
@TANSKBD Ok, Many people agree that dropping nukes in WW2 was a horrible thing, but they also agree that it was the fastest way to end the war, right? It killed innocent people, but it ended up saving more than it killed. Well... Cant the same be said for the Spartans? It was a horrible thing, but it would have ended rebellions with fewer lives lost, right? So in the long run, it was the best thing for humanity as a whole.
@KNDReaper Well...that's like the half-full/half-empty cup perspective. It generally just boils down to your point of view, and yes, you're right - but put it this way too. If the Japanese hadn't attacked, then there wouldn't have been an atomic fallout in the first place. Likewise it's possible that if Dr Halsey hadn't taken those kids the universe might have altered and there might never have been a Human-Covie war. I'm sure you're familiar with the theory of parallel universes.
@KNDReaper As a result there would have spawned an infinite number of chances for the war to have never happened, and vice-versa. And ironically, no - the rebellions were seemingly crushed to the UNSC, but reading Halo: Glasslands gives you greater insight into the future of the Halo universe. Entire colonies have become Insurrectionists, and it was primarily because of the fact that the UNSC created the Spartans and then utilized them as weapons. It could have been the exact opposite
@TANSKBD See, thats not what I got from Glasslands. I saw a few people pushed toward the rebels because of what the UNSC did, but I dont think they are rebelling because of the Spartans. I think its more because they felt abandon by the UNSC when they chose to focus on protecting the inner worlds.
And if I am not mistaken, Halsey asked one of the II's if they blamed her. They told her "We were all destened for something great. You just made sure we were ready." or something to that effect.
@KNDReaper There are probably like what, 3 Outer Colony worlds left? And in case they hadn't noticed, the UNSC's fleet was a mere third or a tenth of what it was at the time of Reach. As a result there were close to zero heavy assault forces available, and the carriers were all indisposed of. And no, the Inner Colonies themselves have begun revolting too.
@TANSKBD lol Well when your home planet is about to fall, the rest of the worlds seem like a minor concern. You try reading the Mass Effect books? Ive read all but Harvest in the Halo books and needed a new series. Its different but still very good.
@KNDReaper Nope, haven't seen any of those. I'll keep my eyes open though; thanks for the heads up. You definitely should read Contact: Harvest, it's worth the price
@KNDReaper halo grasslands does not really follow the story the only books that do follow the actual halo story are fall of reach, the flood, first strike, and ghost of onyx.the rest are fiction
@woreer9 Ok.. Well firstly, It was Glasslands, not Grass. lol
And actualy, it does follow the story line. It tells the story of all the other spartains, right? Well isnt that a part of it? I like the Halo Universe, not just John. Thats why Ive read all the Contact Harvest(have it on my Kindle, just havent read it)

No spartans in halo were geneticly picked trained since 6 under the most extreme and effective training from then they were enchanced with illegal medical drugd/steroids read Halo The Fall of Reach
@Joshua2345ful Thats the point. ODST were men between 18-26, and only had X amount of weeks to train. Spartans did it longer and STILL died.(Except one)
@NamelessSolider not quite,,, if I had to say, I think the Spartans are better than odst ,, but only because they been trained since children hood "BY" ODST
with that said, I really don't like how they are now display more like some kind of superheros instead of special operation soldiers
@TANSKBD are you sure that none of the instructors were ex odst? I think I remember read about it somewhere.. thought may be you are right, maybe I'm just confusing stuff
@swarmcrow ODSTs were never involved with training the Spartans; as a matter of fact the majority of them hold much resentment of the Spartan program that became synonymous with the ODSTs after John-117 killed 3 ODSTs without his bare hands. But you are right in one point; Spartans have become the bannermen of the future - they seem to be warrior gods, as opposed to the standard Marine who considers every kill he makes worth a million medals, because that's exactly what it is.
ODST is a real organization. Only the best of the best can even think about getting in. It's a total Black Op. Has there been things that what the Govt tells you just doesn't make Sense? it's because a higher international organization is doing covert missions all over the world taking down enemies etc. and thos UFO sightings aren't aliens it, again, is an organization using technology not yet known to the public.
Can anyone from the UK tell me if this is considered Celtic music? I really dig the ancestral music of that region. Its really dark/sad/mysterious, yet makes you feel righteous at the same time. How do you guys do that? lol
@gatoradelank About as Celtic as you can get. It's in welsh which is a VERY old language (like Thousands of years) but is still spoken today in Wales (where I live :D) And I think I speak for all welsh people when I say we are proud of our Celtic past.. Cymru am byth
Watching the trailer= Slightly more badass than actually playing the game. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but it wasn't as dark as the trailer.
@MultiCORKY123 lol.... if you took a knee while u were in the suit, i don't think it would've hurt you considering they're protected from one full round of smg ammo o-o
@tarkurius lol, 99% are people who trolls on youtube knowing they can't be that 100% and fit into the drop pods XP hopefully we're not that 99 =o hopefully we're that 99.5% =3
@FalconFallen i've run what you said through google translater and in came up with this : ''Rydym yn twyllo Marwolaeth oddi wrth ei fuddugoliaeth cyfiawn. Ni all unrhyw un trechu i ni, rydym yn falch i blymio draed yn gyntaf i uffern yn y wybodaeth y byddwn yn codi '' but i couldn't hear that in the song ..
"We cheat Death from this rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge feet first into Annwn (Hell) in the knowledge that we will rise."
"And my army of brothers went over the hilltops, drenched in blood we may be... but fighting is all left to me... together with my army of brothers... down we fall... darkness in all... through hell
Ah flundi eni, ohr vidi, gal ah, un vere yulsi, ni vik, ni, an hine veni, vie fodi, ee ni troni, blide oh vline, ranun, yunagwei, bore dile, vey gore du ni.
anyone here whom is a major odst fan we have a clan going on in halo reach called SOG or Soldiers of Glory and we have a ODST division and if u would like to join and sign up u can go through training and hopefully become a odst sog member !!! msg me if u would like to join
@1521Cody and we do not accept ppl in our clan under the age of 12 which is fair some clans age limit is higher if ur 11 then u might get accepted in depending on ur maturity
For all of us, a warrior. For everyone of us who falls, ten more will take his place. We are ODST, we are the elite, we jump feet first into hell, and we will rise, baptised in fire.
@AlphaMADDOG I find the ODST death would be more heroic, as you were fighting the good fight without throwing away part of your humanity.
Sure, I couldn't flip a car, but in return I wouldn't have sold my life completely to them.
Besides I'd rather be a hero among humans, while still being human, to complete the same thing while staying a mere mortal seems like more of a mission :P
@Sunnybyoy You've played a Halo game before, right? It wasn't the choice of the children in the Spartan-II program to do this. They were abducted from their homes, replaced with a flash clone that would die quickly so no one looked for them, and then were trained and altered. Most didn't survive the alteration.
And while I love the ODST's, they don't always do the same thing. They send in the Spartans for the jobs that no one else could possibly do.
@Sunnybyoy My bad, I didn't realize it was a hypothetical. I think I'd rather be a Spartan. Sure, I might feel like I lost a piece of my humanity, and if the war ended, and I wasn't needed, I have no idea what would become of me. But without me, there's no chance the human race would win the war. Self-sacrifice.

One Spartan = fully armored = costs more than a fleet = takes down more enemies than a fleet ever could
One ODST Squad = fully armored = costs more than the standard Marine, but is nowhere near the combat effectiveness of Spartans.
I honestly think there should be some middle line between the ODSTs and Spartan IIs, and the Spartan IIIs are it.

Watching the trailer= Slightly more badass than actually playing the game. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but it wasn't as dark as the trailer.

With ODST comes Brotherhood. Spartan's are solitary creatures, they live only for the mission. ODST live and die for Humanity.

what the fuck is this? What do you mean i need adobe flash player 10 to watch this? i have adobe 11 and still can't watch it? what the fuck!!
acesofheartsk8ing 3 months ago
@AlphaMADDOG I find the ODST death would be more heroic, as you were fighting the good fight without throwing away part of your humanity.
Sure, I couldn't flip a car, but in return I wouldn't have sold my life completely to them.
Besides I'd rather be a hero among humans, while still being human, to complete the same thing while staying a mere mortal seems like more of a mission :P
Sunnybyoy 3 months ago
@Sunnybyoy You've played a Halo game before, right? It wasn't the choice of the children in the Spartan-II program to do this. They were abducted from their homes, replaced with a flash clone that would die quickly so no one looked for them, and then were trained and altered. Most didn't survive the alteration.
And while I love the ODST's, they don't always do the same thing. They send in the Spartans for the jobs that no one else could possibly do.
s00perb4k4 3 months ago
@s00perb4k4 That wasn't the question that started the situation.
It was a hypothetical of "if you had the choice" type of nature.
I've read the Halo books and all, I know that.
I meant if you could choose which would you be. I'd be ODST.
Sunnybyoy 3 months ago
@Sunnybyoy My bad, I didn't realize it was a hypothetical. I think I'd rather be a Spartan. Sure, I might feel like I lost a piece of my humanity, and if the war ended, and I wasn't needed, I have no idea what would become of me. But without me, there's no chance the human race would win the war. Self-sacrifice.
