Pt 2: Reagan's Christianity, like much of his Presidency, came from a carefully-rehearsed script. His economic policies (admittedly followed by Clinton) caused the current recession.
He also sat idle and uncaring while thousands of people died of HIV. "Whatever you did for the least of humanity, you did for me." That's Christianity.
Ps. 106: 1-18 They were jealous of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord. The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the faction of Abiram. Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. Was GOD upset or not? Can you know by this psalm? If so you know the mind of GOD. There are many examples through out the Old Testament. Oh thanks for the debate I have enjoyed it.
FIrst of all, the Psalm text (it's not v v. 1-18but 16-18) does not say that God caused the earth to open up and swallow Dathan. Although one might surmize from the context of the rest of ths Psalm that God did this in a fit of pique, the letter does not say this.
What this has to do with a foregoing a public appearance on National Prayer Day is anyone's guess.
The days of the Dobsons shouting "Jump!" and the occupant of the Oval Office bleating, "How high?" are over.

Don't you wonder why they are not praising the President's "family values"? He dates ONLY his wife, goes to the kids' school events, has mom-in-law (stable, extended family) with them.....I heard a preacher say Obama demonstrates more faith than the wingnuts.

Pt 3: Your statement that Obama has not proved himself a "good Christian" could mean:
1. That you're one of those people who still think he's a Muslim.
2. Obama's not the hate-monger type of "Christian" like Dobson, or the "let 'em die, they're just fags" type of "Christian" like Reagan.
