A treasure huh, you my dear are what is officially known as a useful idiot. Our government is fully corrupted, no doubt. In fact it has been going on so long they screwed up the capitalist system. As to the indians, blacks, social justice issues, you are again but a useful idiot. We as a society have made great strides once upon a time, only to be undermined by the propaganda wing of those you adore. You again are a useful idiot, a product of indoctrination, not education, by commies. fool
Bill Ayers is a treasure...a gift to the left to young people like me who have learned how to stand up when your govt. is acting illegally and immorally. It is time for the fraud of the US govt. to repent for the sins of theft of the land owned by the Native Americans and of the slavery of exploited blacks, poor whites, immigrants and children prior to the labor laws being enacted!! We don't have capitalism..we have corporate socialism!
Our goal is to get Ayers removed from the university, We in no way advocate violence of any kind and we all pray for the safety of any and all political foes. The goal is to defeat them in the arena of ideas.
Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution says that any treaties signed by the United States becomes part of the supreme law of the land. In other words, ever since the United States signed the United Nations Charter back in 1945, our nation has been legally bound under international and domestic law to obey all articles of the Charter of the Un. What you need to do is study the Charter.
Again, you aren't understanding me. Read the history of treaties, they are no more binding than the convenience provided by them.
Look, our internal laws aren't an external authority. There is no external authority. The United Nations has no authority beyond that provided them by nations that consent according to their interests and for no other reason. Hell, the UN is known for their own lawlessness, cf. the rape of Africans by officials. The UN is worse than worthless.
I think your argument is not an argument at all, but founded on barabarism and the desire for aggression. (Ever heard of the Geneva Convention? Of course not, and you wouldn't want to explore those LAWS even if you knew them.) Has common sense or morality ever been explained to you?
Again, to assume that there is a body of laws that govern states is to fuel the possibility of war. You are naive to assume that any state following the Geneva Convention does so by any tenet beyond that of convenience. In fact, the only example I know of anyone following the Geneva Convention is that of the U.S. That of course doesn't mean there aren't other examples, and feel free to provide them if you choose. Again, name for me a "legal" war.
The Geneva Convention has been policy since WWII, and many of our soldiers had to use a lot of restraint when dealing with SS officers after liberating concentration camps. That's what makes this country unique (or did). The Right has made this country into just another grindhouse in the past 8 years. I'll be the first to admit that we've supported dictatorships all over the world, but Bush/Cheney crossed that forever line.
I'm not a fan of Bill Ayers. And I'm not a fan of Richard Nixon or Johnson either. To me both did the same thing: they were, all three of them, terrorists. Our military never should have been in Vietnam. It was an illegal and unjust war.
Hmm, can you name for me a legal war? Can you name for me an enforceable body of laws that governs such situations? Since you cannot, does not the whole of your argument, or should I say equivocation, collapse?
Any country has the right to attack another country. At the level of states reality is a form of anarchy governed only by might and interest. To assume otherwise is in fact the fuel of wars, not the cure.
What Ayers is saying is that the Peace movement isn't responsible for the deaths of over a million Vietnamese. His rational is that our military was beaten. Our military, to my knowledge, never lost a major battle. Ayers is manufacturing an opinion based on wishful thinking and using it as an argument. Those people died because of people like Ayers and there is no reason/fact based argument to controvert it. Ayers is the liar here and he has blood on his hands.
@yedrow our troops were bailing out of duty on the front lines by 1973. They were tired of being cannon fodder and knew the Vietnamese were never going to give up. People who are invaded & occupied by outsiders NEVER GIVE UP!! That is why we lost the Korean "conflict" too. We will lose more young men & women in Iraq & Afghanistan because we are occupiers.
@spiritedemma Did the Assyrians give up when the Persians conquered them? Did the Egyptians give up when the Muslim Arabs conquered them? Did the Incas give up when the Spaniard conquered them?
Your arguments are ahistorical nonsense. We could easily have beaten the Vietnamese, their losses were around a million soldiers, our 68k.
Technically speaking, we have hardly lost any men in Iraq or Afghanistan. We lost more in individual battles in WW2 than the whole of either Iraq or Afghanistan.
he also says an enemy general said the US military was beaten by the vietnamese military, and he read everything this general wrote. so does that make everything he wrote true?? stupid man and angry. sad thing is he's teaching this to students.

The military never should have been there in the first place. We didn't win anything in that war. That's what Ayers is saying.

"Your just lying... Your just lying... Your just lying..."
- Whines Little Billy 'Terrorist' Ayers
Such punkass Alinsky tactics can be countered...
"Your just a terrorist... Your just a terrorist... Your just terrorist..."
They have no interest in facts, just name calling and shouting down opponents.
Arm yourself with facts...
