I don't listen to Some Girls but I like this for some reason. I remember seeing a shirt of their band in a record store called Off the Record in San Diego back when it used to be in Hillcrest in like 2004 but I never got into them
For those of you unimpressed with the first song, keep in mind that it's only part of a longer track called "Deathface." I don't have the album, but I think it's the last track on it, and what you hear on here is the outro portion of that... so, taken out of that context, it doesn't work quite as well. See if you can find the full version on here. You might feel the same way afterwards, but it's worth a listen anyways - it's a pretty unique song regardless of your reaction to it.
There used to be a video up on Stage 6 of a 30-minute version of this song. If you could see it in higher quality/resolution, or better yet, in person, you'd probably get a better sense of what it's "about." It's not meant to be particularly intricate - my interpretation is that it's deliberately (melodically and rhythmically) simplistic so that it can just continually pound the listener with a very simple but powerful thought, phrase or feeling. Check out Merzbow, he does that often as well...
Good music man! Good music brother! It's good man believe me! Please believe me! Please email me so we can work this out I'm really worried about it! Praise god
You are all mistaken. Let me set this shit straight. Gabe is not playing bass that is Justin from the locust. Gabe plays drums on the album version but is not playing drums on this recording. I think it's the drummer from the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel tower.
wow, this is terrible. there's so much potential for an interesting video from this band that could be done for the money who ever paid for the jib rental in this video alone
Ah, it is on an album i just checked... it's the end of a song called 'Deathface' on 'heavens pregnant teens'... thats Gabe Serbian from the locust on the drums too according to the sleeve of the album... nice...
yeah, you know, I am one of those know it all fucks and you could be right. I was thinking of Justin Pearson. Anyway, big deal. They are still a great band.
No, it's cool. I hate how the internet makes a person come off like a jerk even when things are more tongue in cheek. I was never able to see them play either. Justin, and Gabe have both been involved with great projects. I have a tendancy to be a music snob and think I know it all. I get schooled sometimes for sure. Hey, check out Heroine or Traitor here on Youtube or Myspace. Cheers.

Hahaha, are they serious? did they record like 30 sec and loop it? Ridiculous.
forget composition, melody... a method at all... just repeat the same chord/word/beat for 7 1/2 minutes.
this is the direction music is going in?

This was aired on a local San Diego music show and is far from a professional music video. You should try reading video descriptions.

From what I've heard, the second drum part was written and recorded by Gabe, and he's played it live on several occasions.
