Color-bar speedometer...the '59 Dodges had this feature as well. I rented one for a special occasion some years ago, and that was a FUN car to drive. Got plenty of attention! I'll bet your '59 Imp does as well.
@59imperial No unfortunately not. I had a mint 68 Imperial long ago when I was a wee lad of 18. My wife and I have talked about getting another one. We will probably be in the market for one in about 2 years. I want a 55 Imperial Custom owned by one of the members. I think they may be in the So Cal group. The car is freakin gorgeous. I like so many of the Imperials. The only years I really don't care for are the 60/61 and then the newer 80's and front drive 90's.
@TheReformed1 I agree, the fins kind of got out of hand by '60-'61. They weren't as graceful as the '57-'59, which are my favorite years for Imperials. I also like the fuselage era Imperials; especially those from '69-'71. Good luck in acquiring the '55.
@59imperial What about the later year LeBarons 1975 on up? Do you guys allow them as members or is it just Imperial only? I really like the LeBaron Medallions 1975-79. Great looking cars and easy on the wallet!
@TheReformed1 The club of course welcomes anyone who has an interest in Imperials regardless of whether they own one or not. But in terms of the car shows and the club's registry, it seems to be just limited to Imperials.
@59imperial Well, that's cool. Although I grew up in the 60's, I like some of the "neo-classics" from the 70's. Chrysler Le Baron, Cadillac Seville, Lincoln Versailles, etc. Wasn't sure if the Le Baron would be allowed in as it was the old top of the line moniker for Imperial. So do you hang with members from the So-Cal group? Just wondering if Nannette still has the beautiful 55 Crown!
@TheReformed1 The "neo-classics" are definitely gaining some well deserved respect in recent years. For me a '75-'79 Seville would definitely be my next non-Imperial that I'd like to own. As for Lebarons, the club definitely allows the ones made from '57-'75. I can't see why they wouldn't accept them. Outside of club events, I haven't really hanged other members. I think Nannette still has her amazing '55 although lately she's been driving a '56 to the events.

Does the mirrormatic and the auto dimmer work?
1962RS 1 year ago
@1962RS They didn't seem to work when I tested them with a flashlight. I've yet to test them on the road.

Yes. All Imperial models in 1959 had the 413.
