To answer leeneesheng's question, Let's rewind to Vincent's

statement. He said that Kadaj was a Larva form of Sephiroth.

Basically, a Larva is a worm like creature that wraps itself in a cacoon and after being in this stage for a certain amount of time, the Larva frees itself from the cacoon and then becomes a butterfly. In this case, Sephiroth is the fully developed Butterfly form, where as Kadaj is the Larva form of Sephiroth. Was that good enough or a little too long?
