Apparently you're not allowed to join the Bujinkan if u have: a criminal record: are mentally ill or have a history of drug addiction. And you have to provide a Medical report and Criminal records bureau check. Is that true??
0:28 : Hatsumi would have killed you... but since he's only here to get paid (and I don't criticize him : if people wanna pay him to do things they don't understand, why the hell would he refuse... after all, there might be some good fighters in the audience)
I am not saying Ninjutsu sucks, I love practicing it... I'm just saying this is not really worth a Godan... Would it be only because you can't make basical techniques without loosing your balance... oucH....
Hatsumi doesn't care if those guys are stupid enough to believe they passed a sakki test while he didn't attack seriously, for he just gives them what they want... And honestly, I would do the same : if someone is stupid enough to pay for certificates which do not exist in the original system, why would Hatsumi refuse it ? he doesn't have anything to justify...
If I may say something : Hatsumi teaches ninjutsu... A style in which there aren't any ranks such as dans...
Since westerners (and japanese guys) come and ask for dans, so that they can have a legitimancy in order to teach in their country, where blind people can be impressed by a one-eyed guy, Hatsumi gives them, but in Nihon Budo Taijutsu (a typically japanese mystifications)
If Mr. Ordoins is testing for 5dan, he is 4dan and is called a "Shihan?" No offense intended, it just seems the term Shihan is for above 6dan. My 7dan sensei will not allow me to refer to him as Shihan out of humbleness..... just a thought.
@Naisho07 in Ninjutsu, Shihan is a title which means that your master authorized you to teach and that you need to teach to improve your art (not like Menkyo Kaiden which is "equal to the master")
they all now call themselves shihan and do not know the bullshit they are saying
@Naisho07 I think the title is referring to his grade within the Bujinkan now which is above 10th Dan (BJK dan ranks go up to 15th, or at least up to 10 with a following 5 10th dan ranks) This is old footage of his days grading for 5th dan. We refer to any Shidoshi Juudan or above as Shihan
Ive been trying to find out if Bujinkan budo taijutsu is worth participating in for the past few sleepless weeks now. The spiritual side of this is a bit suspicious. Also the sakki test is due to sheer pot luck.
@takitezy7 whether Bujinkan is worth participating in is completely up to you, but the saaki test mainly depends on whether you have learned properly and whether you can relax in an intense situation. if you watch enough sakki test videos you will some where people obviously cant relax and they fail. others relax but have no ability to feel, others can relax and have developed an ability to feel negative intentions and so they pass.
@takitezy7 anyone is fair in questioning spirituality... but there is a certain similarity between the "magic" and quantum mechanics. maybe humanity just forgot the science that the ninja have kept alive?
what beautifull??? hatsumi draws back, whips with his weight on the floor, hits only half way / the guy moves with bad taisabaki and not all the way through , means he would have been killed if the cut was beeing executed till the floor. poor level
@ninjutsuHH I am not agreeing with, or disagreeing with what you have said here, only noting that no Japanese swordsman worth his weight would make a cut thorough someone kneeling and swing all the way to the ground. Straight downward cuts are always done to the level of the Hara, and no further. This is only good swordsmanship. Besides, are you saying that Hatsumi, who is your Soke too, did it wrong?!
@ninjutsuHH I agree... Hatsumi shows a typically Japanese polite compliance, so that people don't get humiliated...
And you know, in private, Hatsumi says he's not their father : so it's not his duty to make them face how shitty their level is, they have to figure it out themselves... Usually, when they, do, they don't wear fancy dans anymore, and don't call themselves shihan either...

0:10 : no structure... If the guy sweeps you, you go down... because the weight isn't properly balanced.
Then you pass in front of the centerline, which endangers you... You bend your body, so you loose your power...
at 0:12 : that's even worse : you loose your balance, which is weird for a Godan Shihan... (lol I love writing this, it looks so weird)
0:16 : bad leg connection, but nice stance, though
0:23 : a lousy hole between you and him... If he's a grappler, you die
