  • fly......

  • great song wish it were longer

  • I love the beginning with the three prominent notes coming out of nowhere. It's haunting and beautiful. For me it brings to mind the desolate landscape of Australia's interior, much like the Starfish album does. There is a certain vast, bleak distance about early stuff by The Church. For me it's there definitive sound.

  • Putting aside the average vocal, this song is structurally and melodically very, very good. It has excellent atmosphere and a wonderful arrangement.

  • @hdregmore I wouldn't say Steve was an average vocalist - granted, he hasn't got much of a range, but I think he makes the best of what he's got and adds to the atmosphere perfectly :)

  • @Criddington I agree. He had some training in the US during Reptile and I think he is much more comfortable with his performances now.

  • @hdregmore Yeah, you can hear the difference. He and Peter both got vocal training from an opera singer I believe. That said, I think you can notice a huge improvement on 'Heyday' too!

  • @Criddington Heyday was a masterpiece. The atmosphere it creates is truly inspired. It deserved to do a lot better than it did. All the tracks are of the same quality and meld together beautifully. Blurred Crusade and Heyday was their peak. That's what I believe anyway.

  • what a song...short and sweet
