  • Moral of this video...

    Patience is a virtue

  • I love Dan Savage <3

  • Lol I love Dan. If it wasn't on tv he would have totally cussed that other guy out. Don't Piss off Dan savage dude.

  • Concision, disgusting! Not enough time to atually discuss things rationally.

  • i would rather have obama as president than any republican bigot

  • Well, it's over now. Still a long way to go though.

  • Sure love you Mr. Dan!

  • Obama has in the past few weeks really advanced lgbt rights - I like Dan is he in a relationship

  • @anthonynewsome Dan's been married for quite sometime now. He has a kid too Sorry lol

  • @gir464 hi yeah I was hoping that he had a life outside his work - am delighted to here he has a husband & child - thanks

  • I love Dan's face at 5:18. It looks like he wants to ask the other guy what the fuck his problem is.

  • The Obama spokeshole is fucking grating and annoying and all of his interventions are facile. DADT is still in force, Obama just wants to seem centrist for 2012, he doesn't give a FUCK about gays, and he doesn't have to. WAKE THE FUCK UP PROGRESSIVES, do NOT vote for this clown again.

  • Dont Palin and Obama have the same view of gay marriage? Just thought Id throw that sad fact into the discussion

  • uhm, don't ask/don't tell was repealed... I know the whole saving the economy thing and the silly healthcare thing got done first, and now trying to have America make peace with the world gets more headlines, but WTF! You'd rather vote for fukn Republicans that would throw you in jail than Obama, who took a little longer than you would've liked to get the legislation done. Well damn, you're every bit as stupid as a TPer voting for rich tax cuts from their mountain shack

  • Obama will not get this gay man's vote a second time. He can kiss my big fat homosexual ass.

  • Hahahaha point for Dan

  • I wonder if this man realizes that being louder than Dan, doesn't make him right.

  • that baldy needs to shut the fuck up

  • Simply from the title of this video I was suspecting precisely what I believe to be confirmed by Obama's words within this vid. He does want to advance gay politics but his carefully nurtured image with the Arab, Muslim world has priority. After saying he'll eliminate "don't ask, don't tell", he made certain to speak of Arab linguists being expelled in a manner pleasing to Arabs, due to his negative tone towards it. This would be because speaking favorably of gay politics is not Arab friendly

  • Obama has quietly appointed gays to powerful positions & these moves have recieved little media attention, keeping them out of the Arab world's view. But he's not advancing gay politics on high profile issues which will receive the spotlight. Savage is simply being a typical gay activist by demanding & insisting on the advancement of the never ending gay political appetite for more & more. For him its the equivalent of a hetero man emerging as a women's hero. It has socially amorous benefits

  • @Chuichupachichi

Never-ending gay political appetite for more and more? The "appetite" will be sated when we are not discriminated against, when we have federally recognized same-sex marriages throughout the U.S. when we can adopt in any state with no discrimination, and when there's no state in which we can be fired just for being gay. These are all unrealized but reasonable expectations. We don't even have hospital visitation rights in MOST states. Never-ending political appetite, my ass!

  • LOL @ Dan's face at 5:17 hahahhahahahahaha

  • Hmmm, he brings up a good point...maybe incest should be allowed and maybe child/adult relationships should be reconsidered. Using the argument for gay rights as a template, what is wrong with two adult brothers getting married and expressing their love for each other. Also, what's wrong with a 17 year old marrying a 30 year old versus an 18 year old marrying a 30 year old? I think it's coming sooner than we think...might as well get a jump on it.

  • Job done!

  • @auntiesanity "Conferred" legitimacy on same-sex relationships.Ended a ban on HIV-positive immigrants & foreign visitors. Announced new regulations that recognize LGBT families for federal housing programs & prohibit discrimination in getting federally insured mortgage loans. Appointed more than 100 openly gay people in his administration, including the government's top personnel official and the head of the Council for Environmental Quality. Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom to gay icons!

  • send in the gays to die first and then send in the blacks to die next , sounds like a good plan to me

  • @abcdefghip

No, what sounds like a good plan right now, if someone just blew your fucking brains out for being a worthless ass and for your moronic comment.

  • 12-18-10 YES... Don't Ask - Don't Tell..does not make sense. Today is the Day!

  • DADT was repealed. So ha!

  • FUCK GAYS!!!!!!

  • With legal scholars now saying the President can reverse DADT by executive order, does Corbin still toe the same apologist line?

  • So no California?

"When are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?"

    Damn you, Poochie.

  • Dan made some pretty valid points in my opinion, Obama, you're the president at the end of the day, not me, so if you're going to talk the talk your ass better walk the walk too.

  • @OtterAquafina He HAS "walked the walk!!" Just because President Obama didn't get it done the way YOU think he should have proceeded means Chit!! President Obama did it the RIGHT WAY with "Congressional support!!" Although he has the authority, it is NOT always "prudent" to just run "roughshod" over the Senate & the House! I personally LOVE the way President Obama uses "insightful" prudence verses listening to the cry-baby whiners & allowing himself to be bullied! Strength & Leadership!

  • Must be so frustrating for Dan savage to get invited to debate with these airheads.

  • I don't give a shit what orientation someone is. If they want to sign up to fight on my behalf 8000 miles from home, then they have my vote of confidence.

  • Dayun! Dayun! DAYUN!!

  • Obama is definitely not the revolution he promised to be.

Dan was pretty smart and insightful. It makes it impossible not to admire him.

  • @KharlozU agree one hundred million percent with you

  • XD dan is funny with and interruption

you know this if you tune in to his podcast

  • Man, after what Obama just did with Don't Ask Don't Tell, I totally buy this argument. Obama isn't just playing politics, his actually an anti-gay bigot.

  • @andrewclunn You're an anti-gay bigot damned LIAR!! Just because he doesn't dance to your tune "whenever you & however YOU & the other whiners want him to. PRESIDENT Obama did it HIS WAY with "insightful prudence," so Fuck You!!

  • @andrewclunn

Now that DADT has been repeal, be man enough to admit you were wrong and be thankful. I will say this again to you Obama naysayers, MCCAIN was (and still is) the "anti-gay bigot" and we're lucky he didn't get his cranky old ass in the White House! Also, stop buying into bullshit arguments.

  • @MrJuly1990ish

So if I say something negative about Obama I must be a McCain supporter? DADT got overturned despite the BS Obama threw up to stop it, not because of him. How about you be "man enough" (seriously how much of a condescending douche can you be?) not to look at everything from a left-right false political dichotomy.

  • @andrewclunn

The point is, he said during his campaign that he will repeal DADT on his watch, which he did! So again, be man enough and YOU stop being the damn "douche" and admit that you were wrong. It's that simple Andrew.

  • Savage is right, he is very passionate about this and Obama did sell out the LGBT community, esp with appealing the injunction by Virginia Phelps

  • black guys actullly a women

  • WHY IS A BALD WHOPPIE GOLDBERG TALKING ON CNN WITH DAN SAVAGE?

  • @yankskiller34 Racist fag!

  • @yankskiller34 racist

  • @yankskiller34 I Agree in that Dan Savage is such an IGNORANT selfish loud-mouth Fuck w/ No basis in facts for his stupidity!! Sad thing is, Savage has even More ignorant fucks like you who listen to & agree w/ him when None of you know what the hell you're talking about! President Obama handled this the RIGHT way & that "bald Whoopie Goldberg" as you refer to him knows exactly what he's talking about!! Stampp Corbin has More "intelligence" in his little finger then Savage will Ever have!!

  • @yankskiller34

    Lmao Whoppie Goldberg. Priceless.

  • This is actually part of the eugenics movement - watch Maafa21.

  • Dan needs to keep his cool! he's making all the gays look bad

  • @TheSilverphoenix88 contrarily, actually, hes making the community look very well informed, if you ask me. look this up on facebook, twitter, what have you, a lot of what you see is all these people YELLIN ON CAPS ABOUT HATERS AND HOW MUCH WE HATE HATERS when thats not true, it just makes both sides look painfully ignorant. now, i agree, he probably shouldve tried to keep his cool and contain himself a bit better, but he definitely didnt make gays look bad. just my opinion ^^

  • @TheSunshineNetwork and I agree with what youre saying it's just that he should keep his cool. we dont people thinking that gay activists are agressive, and you know people; they are biased

  • @TheSilverphoenix88 ok that is true. unfortunately he does kind of have to take into account what people think, in this case.

  • @TheSunshineNetwork No. He does not have to "take into account what people think". Had that been the situation in Selma, Alabama in the 60s about integrating blacks would still be sitting at the back of the bus and drinking from separate fountains.

  • Savage might be knowledgeable, but he should learn how to communicate more civilly. He always talk over people and coming off like a bully.

  • What did the Arab linguist do to get kicked out of the military?

    I don't get it...

Who knows who is gay unless the person is going around advertising this?

I don't understand what gay military ppl are asking for in the military and how it differs from what is going on now.

    Please explain.

  • @crazycoolone Many Arabic linguist have been kicked out for being gay. "Going around advertising" do you consider gay soldiers being true to themselves as advertising? Gay soldiers have to lie about this huge part of their lives, while straight soldiers don't. That's the issue we have. A straight soldier can go to a movie and be intimate with their partner but if a gay soldier is seen doing the same thing he or she would be kicked out of the military.

  • @ltTexwood

Don't get offended... I don't understand 'openly gay'. Makes no sense to me.

I don't care if someone is gay or not, but I'm not in the military and I don't have to live with anyone else. I do not go around being intimate in public anyway so I still don't get it. Are they talking about off the base on shore leave? Who cares? Or are they speaking about on base during regular military exercises?

Are they going to have gay only barracks? How will this all be implemented is my questn.

  • @crazycoolone Currently in our military if a gay soldier is found out to be gay, he or she would be kicked out of the military. So if a soldier is seen or heard do any homosexual that soldier would be kicked out of the military. Holding hands, kissing, posting you're in relationship on facebook. Anything... whether it be on post or off post, in uniform or out of uniform. Basically you're not allowed to be gay in the United States military and if you want to be in you must lie.

  • @ltTexwood

Ok... thank you for clarifying this for me.

I know a lesbian who was in (DL in the military). She didn't get kicked out though.

I don't get it because I'm straight & have never been about being overt about my straight relationships.

It's just not in my nature to go around all hugged up on a guy in public.

(I think it's about being discreet and a cultural thing)

So you'll understand why I don't get it anyway???

In Bklyn ppl shout 'GET A ROOM' at men & women together...

    They really do.

  • @ltTexwood

    See that's what I mean by posting/ adverts...on FB.

The military actually checks things like that & throws ppl out???

I'd rather know than not know if a guy is gay. (I can tell by his energy toward me most of the time.) However, in all honesty, I don't feel comfortable being nude 'round lesbians - not even @ a gym.

I thought it was abt changing the uniform or something.

I don't know though, I have to let the military sort it all.

  • @crazycoolone Truthfully gay are in the military, I'm gay and in the military, we just can't allow anyone to know we're gay. We want Don't Ask Don't Tell repealed because we feel we shouldn't have to lie about our sexuality just like straight soldiers don't have to lie about theirs. We won't need separate barracks because we already share barracks. The only think that will change is us having to lie about our sexuality. So many other countries allow gays to serve openly and have no problems.

  • @ltTexwood

I mean advertising because I've lived in Chelsea just North of the Village.

    Nothing wrong with fashion, honey!

Many of the gay men I know are out & very ostentatious; they are immaculate dressers and permeate the fashion world.

Now being a straight man in the fashion world is looked down upon toujour!

  • @crazycoolone Gay soldiers are asking to be able to be openly gay like their straight peers are allowed to be openly straight.

  • @ltTexwood

I don't get the term 'openly straight' either.

I know that married [straight] soldiers are not supposed to even hold hands in uniform.

Is this based upon being on duty & on base or not?

  • The sissy blackman is an idiot

  • I love Dan's facial expressions :D hes so amazingly beautiful :D LOL

  • Ron Paul is the most gay friendly candidate because he thinks everyone should have the same rights, Obama is not gay friendly, whoever does not think gay marriage should be allowed does not respect states rights.

  • Democrat vs Democrat. It comes to which one more politically inept... I'll give you a hint; it's not Dan.

  • i wouldnt debate with Dan EVER.

he will make shit my pants

  • I've been reading an now listening to Dan Savage since I was a youth. After 15 years I've decided that I want to have his babies. I think my wife would understand.

  • Dan Corbin = pathetic, pandering. Real lives are lived a day at a time and we loose days of our lives as Obama turns a blind eye; yes blind.

  • the black guy is so annoying and rude. why does he have to interrupt?!

  • @fauxindigo

the white guy interrupted him first at 3:16 after that they went 50/50 back and forth. their both rude.

  • Obama on gay issues: "Blah, blah, blah-blah-blah. Blah, blah-blah blah blah."

  • @auntiesanity President Obama has done MORE for gays then ANY President in the History of this country, so get EDUCATED, stop making ignorant, ill-informed comments & go Fuck yourself!! He's signed the Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, first federal civil rights law to protect gays and lesbians. Instructed federal agencies to extend benefits where possible to same-sex partners of civilian federal employees. Ordered release of data on legally married gay couples frm

  • @San47di1

"President Obama has done MORE for gays then ANY President in the History of this country"

Exactly!! Now that DADT has been repeal, let's see if little whinning ass bitch Dan Savage will be man enough to admit he was wrong. Dan & all the other gay (haters) on the left that had DOUBTS about President Obama, need to start kissing his ass now! They know damn well, if McCain was elected President (scary ass thought), they wouldn't have gotten jack shit!

    Peace.

  • @MrJuly1990ish H-E-L-L-O, THANK YOU!!! ^5

  • @San47di1

You're welcome, but it's the truth and they know this!

    Peace.

  • The black guy is a prissy idiot and Dan Savage is smart and knows what he's talking about.

  • I love Dan

  • if i was a man, i would date dan.

  • The guy on right is kind of a shrill bitch. He needs to work on arguing a point without losing his shit - as a representative on an important issue for the president, you'd think he'd have that down pat.

  • How does a rep for Obama not know the law that he's come to speak about?

  • @centraslayer because hes a rep for hype not the man

  • DAN SAVAGE IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF SALVATION AND DELIVERANCE! This man's column is one of the MOST GODLESS, AMORAL and LASCIVIOUS FILTH that I have ever seen attempt to pass as "ADVICE." WE SHOULD BE PRAYING FOR THIS MAN! He's really an ill individual.

  • @LPATWILLFILM your self piousness is laughable ..

  • Obama wasn't a mistake. Don't forget that the other option was "old as fuck" McCain and "two part crazy" Sarah Palin. if they were in office, DADT would be completely off the table. This discussion would not eve be taking place. But at the same time, Obama needs to do his fucking job. He needs to stop DADT right now. It's that simple and it is the easiest thing he can do to make good on any of his promises to the gay community

  • Obama' s record pretty much sucks, and not in a goodly gay way. He was a mistake.

  • @lulz666f how does his record suck? can you give examples?

  • He voted way too much for corp. interest. Check out his senatorial record. It's open to the public. People seriously should've done their homework on this guy.

  • @lulz666f

welcome to american politics, corporations are the most powerful voters. Hell, even the representative voting system the US has (which means that your vote is turned to the other side if the other side has a majority) was outlawed by most of europe in the early 1900s becuase is was deemed unfair.

This was _before_ women were even allowed to vote. The US is operating in an unfair and outdated system.

  • @Karma0886

    LOL. Seriously?

  • ummm.... whats up with dans left eye? half the time his pupil looks... vertical not round like a reptile

  • that's not his pupil, it's just the space between the reflections from the lights.

  • I tried to warn you...

  • today is Jan 25th 2010. He's been in office a year. and STILL NOTHING... We've been duped folks

  • he can only do what congress allows him to do its fucked up but thats how politics are..fucked....the republicans resent him getting into office and are doing everything in theyre power to make him look bad by not letting him pass hardly any laws or bills....

  • @MasterMark123 nothing in regard to what? I'm so tired with people stating that Obama hasn't done anything just because you didn't vote for him, agree with what he HAS done, or want him in office.

  • @Karma0886 Wow .... where did you dream up My motives ? FYI, I DID vote for him. I DO agree with what he has done. I DO want him in office !!!!

  • @LPATWILLFILM you are the one who needs help. you parrot religious zombie talking points. I don't believe Dan Savage needs or wants your prayers or your crazy talk. I believe Dan, like myself are free atheists . Keep your craziness to yourself... you only look foolish to sane people.

  • How would Obama feel if interacial marriage was still illegal or if blacks(I'm black btw) couldn't enlist? I thought Obama was different but its politics as usual. Barack soldout the gay community, he wanted the gay vote so he apealed to their interests.

  • obama and every other politicians are nothing else but a big piece of shit, they all work for and under the same people that tell them what to do. you could even say that obama is the black version of bush

  • Comment removed

  • NOthing more amusing than watching stuipd whites who fancy themselves "anti-racist" beside themselves when they realize just how reactionary and intolerant blacks are when it comes to gay rights. They're just dying for Mormons or some other fellow kinsman to insult instead.

  • Two wars, a free- falling economy, a general international distrust of American policy. Then he's trying to tackle health care....all in the face of a inept corrupt congress.. He's trying for fucks sake, sorry, if don't ask don't tell is at the top of his list, I'm sure he want's to get there. It's been what ten months! If yo u wanted instant change we would have a dictator.

  • a simple signed document can stop the enforcement of DADT

  • I would think in wartime stopping needless hemorrhaging of qualified officers, translators and troops would be a priority.

  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!

  • uh...whats up with cambell browns face being totally blured (like there's vaseline on the lense) - Oh, and Obama is dissapointing!

  • Savage ought to have his own show.

The guy was always a fine sex columnist, and in the last few years he's become just a killer political commentator as well.

  • Isn't he amazing? A great debator. Glenn Greenwald is impressive too.

  • Right on, cinemaman.

One good thing I thought of: if Savage got his own show, he would just let the "fag" comments bounce off him the way Rachel Maddow lets the "dyke" stuff roll off her.

  • Ah, a violent homophobe. According to the research on folks like you, that doesn't bode well for your married life.

  • No I just don't like annoying people

  • You didn't merely characterize him as "an annoying person." You called him a "fudge packer" and then suggested violence against him. Perhaps mere hyperbole, but not exactly a reasoned response.

  • Oh come on, just look at how he interrupts people and won't let anyone else get in a word edgewise. Would you like it if somebody talked to you like that?

  • Actually, that is hardly something he does all the time, but when his opposition is simply evasive or flat-out lying, they get called on it.

I probably wouldn't like being talked to like that, but I wouldn't resort to homophobic terms or violence either. Kind of a sign of civility.

  • I've seen him do it with everyone that he argues with.

  • It's official scientific evidence, then.

  • Allrightythen, we agree. Yay.

  • you are a classic example that shows that EVERYTHING savage says is correct.

you clearly just hate gays, and thats the end of the story.

  • Nonsense, and I'm too tired right now to argue, let's re-engage later

  • @OxTheWriter Check out his podcast.

  • @OxTheWriter he does have his own show - his awesome podcast

  • @youknowjustsayin,

Oh yeah, his podcast is great. I'd just dig a proper cable show or something.

  • @OxTheWriter Dan Savage has had a podcast for a few years now: The Savage Lovecast. They are up over 200 episodes. It mostly concerns relationship advice, like his column, but there is some political commentary towards the beginning of most shows.

  • @salvagebar,

It is a fine podcast, so no disagreements with you there. I just think it would be great if he had something on CNN or the like. (Hell, even a late-night talk show along the lines of Bob Costas's "Later" would do.)

  • @OxTheWriter I totally agree! My favourite part of the Savage Lovecast is the opening rant (when it's there). I love his take on politics. Very eloquent, very funny, and brilliantly pissed off. Dude needs a show.

  • @OxTheWriter He has his own podcast series on iTunes called "SavageLove" I believe

  • President Obama can issue an executive order suspending dont ask dont tell. He chooses not to do so.

Dan Savage is right. It's shameful.

  • I love me some Dan Savage.

  • did u see that facial expression change at 5:18...too funny!

  • move to sweeden, you over genearlizing piece of shit. this guy is fighting for the same thing as dan. he just views the circumstances differently.

  • Stampp? Really?

  • I side with Savage on this one, Obama has sold us out. And Corbin, you need to check yourself.

I loved Savage's "It's either cowardice or animus." quote. I think there's a third dimension. It's called electability.

That said, the President as Commander in Chief has every right to suspect DADT.

  • "electibility" falls under the broader category of "cowardice"

  • "I'm not a legal scholar." I think that's obvious.

  • dan is well informed. the other guy is pretty lame. how do YOU make excuses for someone (obama) who approves a brief that compares YOU (the way YOU were born) to incest?

  • "Excuse me Dan, excuse me Dan, excuse me Dan." He needs to stop yelling because his feelings are hurt.

  • Savage who is a writer and (to my knowledge) has no political experience seems much more informed and qualified for Stampp's job. Dan needs to get into politics.

  • Stampp learned from the conservative media machine on how to interrupt and yell over the other person who is calmly making his point.

  • A third comment. I'm losing my mind:

I don't think I've ever seen 2 real gay guys argue an issue on tv. Seriously the only thing I can think of is Will and Jack over various subjects. I think this is proof the gay movement is progressing at a cultural level, despite the stagnancy in the federal level.

  • Sorry to double comment. I can't get over Dan's reactions at 5:18 and 5:31 are probably the funniest thing I've ever seen someone do in split screen when it wasn't their turn. haha, this is going in my favorites.

  • Joe in DC, When did this air?

  • it was on Friday...
