I don't know the details of this bill, but I really want "natural" health products to at least have to back up their claims of "improved metabolism" and other medical claims. If you are selling a product that makes health claims, you should have to demonstrate that it is safe _and_ effective. In this sense at least, they should be treated the same as pharmaceuticals due to the nature of the claims.
google $1000 fines now for chefs using that bad toxin SALT, hr 875 bill no one is allowed organic food. you must buy processed food if you dont like it we will lock your ass in jail, you terrorist!
HC's NHP Directorate is led by a naturopath, staffed by CAM professionals and advised by CAM practitioners. They have reviewed over 26,000 NHP licensing applications over the last 4 years. Currently, store shelves are full of NHPs that will continue to be there long after Bill C-51 is passed.
NHP consumers deserve to have the safety and quality of their products protected. NHP manufacturers are not so saintly that they will never cut corners to maximize profits.
NHPs were regulated under the 2004 NHP Regulations, which will remain in force unchanged after C-51 is passed. C-51 seeks to improve HC's ability to protect the safety and quality of food, NHPs, drugs, cosmetics and medical devices by enhancing the enforcement measures. The maximum fine in the F&DA is currently only $5,000, and product recall cannot be mandated. Talk about out-dated.
this is absolutely outrageous to take away the rights of people to choose NATURAL substances. i will not have it. since there's vitamin c in oranges, will i go to jail if i grow oranges in my garden??

thinkalittlebitmore,
if you don't go to jail, you might go to the hospital from not getting proper natural foods, and then you might get fed tainted lunch meat.
