What gets me is all these comments about how "the original has more heart"....seriously, gritty metal vocals on acoustic never work, so a softer voice is needed. It makes the melody flow and fit the ambience of acoustic musi.

I dont' care who you are, or how metal/grunge you are, but too much grit can ruin an acoustic version of a song.

All these guys, Sully from Godsmack, Wes, fucking insert the name, they all sound exactly the same and pronounce the words the same, trying way way WAAAAY too hard to sound like 90's grunge. That's why this shit sucks and won't be heard on a radio station 10 years from now, while the REAL grunge stuff still gets airplay 20 years later.

What I said was the mechanics of turning a grunge/post-grunge/metal track into an acoustic song requires a softer vocal. Try reading it before jumping to conclusions, mate.
