I really get the feeling listening to them talk that they feel a slight departure from an on rails game like Knights of the old republic will be enough to make for a great game. I gotta be honest I dispised KOTR because you pretty much got stuck on a set of rails and became a passenger as the story played out on your screen. Everything I heard in this video made it sound like they are really not stepping far beyond that. I really don't think they truely understand what an open world is.

Wait,but didn't the Exile pretty much destroy the Sith in Kotor 2?It made sense because then the Republic would be in a false sense of secruity,abolish army,etc.Now if the Sith return,shouldn't the Jedi have learned their lesson that they always come back and never let the Republic do all that stuff?

Primony from the old Intrepid server here..You are so right. We made the story and it kicked ass. Remember thousands of people on each server!! Docs giving buffs to lines 20 to 30 deep in cnet. Looks good so far. Action looks like it has some fluidity to it. And its an early pre-production build guys. I bet the finished product will look much better, much more polished.

Argh, when will game producers learn that a good looking game sells...even WoW looks good in it's own way, with it's majestic scenery and fabulous landscapes. This just looks under polished...hopefully it's far from the end game product graphics wise. That being said the combat seems to lack serious flow. Hoping for Guild Wars 2 to come out more than ever...at least they can make a game that stands out...

Though it is STAR WARS with HIGH TECH, you will be running around on quest ON FOOT! No hover bike, no ship, just you running around like your in a low tech fantasy mmo. Just eye candy & no content. Bet you won't be able to swim under water or open doors like you could ten years ago in Everquest. Total water down game using the SW title to promote it. It will suck just like Star Wars Galaxies mmo did because of no ship in planet or space or mounts. They did that way latter & sucked.

The game is still in production, only one class and no races have been confirmed. It's probably gonna be another year or so before they can announce that the game is done just so they can go and DeBug. There's hardly any info about the game except for the setting. Don't make such a quick assumption.

If you're talking about camera angle, it's probably gonna be like most MMORPG's. If you mean, 'Is this game gonna be like Elder Scrolls?' We don't know. As I told ringlerum, not a whole lot of info has been released. Mostly just the setting, a class, some planets (4). I personally think SWTOR is gonna have its own feel, it's own beat, something that can't really be so easily attributed to being like another game. My opinion, once again.

You want to see how to get away from realism and make something look more artistic then look at the new Prince of Persia.

But my artistic eye will have to do a lot of adjusting for it. There also is the possibility that the graphics will improve a lot before the actual release, making the style a bit more palatable. We can only hope.

Competing against WoW will be tough. I hope it will be like Guild Wars tho, u have to pay for the game (to make the account), but no monthly fee. If it would be like that, hell I'd buy it right away. YEs it will costs money first to buy, and second a monthly fee, jsut like wow, and other MMORPG's, this isnt a conclusion to KOTOR is a vastly different game in itself, it deals with th e timeline of the jedi/sith wars and the storyline behind the legends of the jedi and sith. Thats my best guess though, dont take my word for it..research research research I always say.
