Fuck chai, doma, and talk, we must fight back against any aggression against the assyrians, or we get fucked up by turks who filled the rivers and lands with assyrian blood. We must get univeristy degrees, enroll in army and politics from where ever country the assyrians reside in. Fuck jesus and the bullshit of forgiving a muslim that has killed an assyrian. My veins are filled with revenge.

  • You're not Assyrian.

    Don't call yourself one, please.

  • Wow I had so much to say, but you were able to sum ace1 in three words, perfect. Sounds like the terrorists does he not.

  • You got some nice thoughts, although don't talk like that about Jesus. He is God for most Assyrians.

  • you have good points but revenge is not the way we need to unite

  • and Wich army is it you'r talking about mate?

    Lego Army ?

  • @ace1dominant1 I thought I was the only one who thought like u...Where is Jesus now after our people got murdered, our children killed and women raped. Dividing us into catholics and orthodox, same bullshit...ASSyrian333 ace1dominant1 is more assyrian than you are..If there was an assyrian muslim, would he not be Assyrian to you? What does religion have to do with our race...WAKE UP RELIGION SUX

  • You know.. just 100 years ago, Iraq's population was 2 million...

A very small concentration of people descended from ancient Mesopotamia..

  • khaya omta 4 ever

  • Plenty of Muslim Iraqis have a Mesopotamian identity and would be proud to readopt the Assyrian identity, but the Christian connotations make it difficult. I have also read that a small minority of Assyrians have converted to Islam, but still remain Assyrians in culture and language.

I call for the teaching of Aramaic in Iraqi schools, as a way to revive Iraqi heritage.

  • You are right on every point. One thing u should understand, no Ashurian converted to Islam by choice. They did it under the threat of death, or heavy jizya taxes, and they're still forcing Ashurians to either convert, leave, or die, right now as I type this.

Wether anyone likes it or not, Christianity is tied to Ashurians because we were the 1st to accept Christ as our Lord, and we spread it to many other countries and nations.

With that said, I don't care for ANY religion.

  • Thankyou for this reply khon, It helped my understanding, and I agree with you.

  • Brother, I personally would LOVE if the Arabs of Iraq came out of the closet and announced their true Ashurian identity, which really they are! The only Arabs I'd reject would be the ones who bring their Islam WITH their Ashurian identity.

To be a true Ashurian, you must put that before ANYTHING else, especially religion, and especially Islam, because as Ashurians, we don't believe in killing your neighbor if he doesn't convert, or marrying a 9 yr old girl.

  • I absolutely agree my brother. We must keep religion seperate from Assyrianism.

Where religion is concerned - Muslim Ashurians should understand and be proud of the Christian heritage of non-Arabized Ashurians and Christian Ashurians should respect the Islamic heritage of Arabized Ashurians

Assyrianism shouldn't be a Christian religious cult, but a Mesopotamian national reawakening, we must be Assyrians first.

  • Hey guys, the ancient religions of Mesopotamia and the Levant are also being revived by many Westerners and even some modern Hebrews!

  • I'd proudly accept ANY Ashurian, Muslim or Christian, as long as they leave their religion out of Ashuriansim. I welcome ALL muslim Ashurians, as long as they realize that their ancestors were FORCED into Islam a few centuries ago.

I'm not asking Iraqis to convert to christianity, I'm just asking them to admit the truth and realize the history as it was. If they can do this, then imagine how our people's numbers will rise. overnight, then we can seriously work together to free Assyria :)

  • We need more minds like yours within the Assyrian community khon.

If Assyrians took some steps to open and promote a Secular Assyrianism within the Iraqi and Syrian communities, we might eventually be able to restore our ancient national heritage in a significant way.

We can re-Assyrianize many Arabized Assyrians.

(Just a note, conversion to Islam of Ashurians and Babylonians happened ~1300+ years ago)

  • Also khon, most Ashurians DO NOT want to divide Occupied Assyria (Iraq), but we're being pushed to choose sides, and its a terrible dilemma to be in. I'm very proud though that there are Iraqi "arabs" who are realizing their real Ashurian roots, please spread the word to your friends so that we can unite even faster!

Let me recommend a great book to you: ANCIENT & MODERN ASSYRIANS. It explains what happened to our people after the fall of Ninweh, until today. It proves Iraq's true identity!

  • Ancient Mesopotamians were not Christians or Muslims... they spoke neither Arabic nor Aramaic.... We are much older than all of this... We are the beginning.

It doesn't matter whether we are Christian or Muslim, or whether we speak Aramaic or Arabic... We are all Mesopotamians, we have one blood and one ancient heritage. We have the oldest history in the world, we must unite together beyond religion.

Thankyou I will find this book and read it.

  • as an Armenian, I support this. Assyria is Armenia's big brother

  • @Arzive

Thank you brother we love armeninas too they are our neighbors

  • I don't understand how Assyrians can be Mesopotamian nationalists, and at the same time want to seperate from Iraq, and why they tie Christianity into Assyrian identity.

I understand the Assyrian movement began amongst Iraq's Christians, but if you tie Christianity into the Assyrian identity - you will exclude 95% of Mesopotamians - Ashurians and Babylonians.

I have read that true Assyrianism is a movement inclusive of all Mesopotamians, regardless of religion.

  • 6759 refers to the current year, not BC.

I think our year began from the establishment of the first ancient Assyrian temple.

  • If the current year is 6759, then the calendar begins 6759 years ago in 4750 BC, hence I asked why it begins at this point, because this is long before Assyria and even long before the Akkadians, 4750 BC is during the early/middle Ubaid period of Sumer.

  • That's correct. We get our year from the time they built the 1st temple of God/Ashur in the city of the same name, and that was in 4750 BC. Waaay before there were empires.

Add 2009 to 4750 BC, and you get our current Ashurian year: 6759.

    B'Sheina

  • Do you know how it was ascertained that the first temple of Ashur was built in 4750 BC? I wasn't aware of a Semitic presence in Mesopotamia this long (over 2,000 years) before the Akkadians.

  • 1st, u should know that we're not "Semitic". This is a Judaic term from the Torah which was applied in the Old Testament, and is related to the Jewish "Version" of creation.

Outside the Torah & Bible, Shem does not exist, and this name is never found in Ashurian,Sumerian, Akkadian or Babylonian documents, plus they never built a city dedicated to "Shem" like they did for Nimrud or Ashur for example. It is a misnomer and a distortion of our identity.

  • 2nd, "The first settlements at Nineveh began in 6,000 B.C. During the 2nd and 3rd millenium Nineveh was dedicated to the worship of gods like Ishtar."

Just google History of Nineveh or Arbil, and you'll see how long these cities were inhabited by the same people (Ashurians) who dedicated the cities to Ishtar and Ashur.

YouTube won't let me post the link to any websites.

    Cheers!

  • Ah khon, i've found an explanation at Nineveh [dot] com.

If Iraq was re-Assyrianized, which name would it have - Bet Nahrain? Nahrain? Ashur?

    Thanks.

  • "Semitic" is a linguistic term denoting a family of related languages - Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic and such. Beyond any biblical etymology it has a linguistic function and currency. You see, the Akkadian language has been classified by linguists as a Semitic language, this is because it has linguistic affinities with those other languages termed "Semitic languages", myth and etymology aside. Whether they call them "Semitic languages" or "Eastern Mediterranean languages" is neither here nor there.

  • I understand the reasoning aswell.. identifying with the earliest indigenous Mesopotamians.

  • Cool video!

  • Hello, Assyrians are Christian.

  • They are Mesopotamians (Iraqis).

  • We're also located in Iran [Urmia+Tehran mostly], Syria, and Turkey.

  • The Assyrian homeland is Northern Mesopotamia, extending to the Urmia region in the northeast.

All of this region historically belonged to the Mesopotamian peoples.

  • Thanks for the comment on my video, much appreciate it. Yeah I recommend you give it a visit. It's completely different from your average Middle eastern country, which I admire. Morocco as a country tends to think outside the religous box, e.g: the wine business in Morocco is thriving, the farmers breed pigs to sell on to the local butchers, restaurants. It's a very diverse country, with a very rich deep colourful culture. I recommend you vist Marrakesh. You'll love it!

  • You're welcome. I have to go in the future!
