  • On a scale of 1 to 10 how bright is it during the day and at night?

Do people see you coming from a distance?

  • @timschmidgall2 At night, I'd give it a 10. People, unless your typical idiot, see you and pull over when safe (or just screech to a halt). The day time is hit or miss. Sometimes they see you and sometimes they don't. In a surprising event, I had a school bus pull over with the sun beaming right at my light.

  • do you know if sirennet export to europe?im interesting in buy this product and i´m from spain...

  • @Enrikit0 according to their website, they do. At the top is a section "global orders" with details about their international ordering policy. Good luck and stay safe!

  • where do you buy and where are your from?

  • @Enrikit0 sirennet.com.... I'm from PA.

  • i was wondering were you bought your slim miser and where you ran the wire... i am assuming you ran itt around the outside of the windshield.... would i be correct in this assumption

  • @SEEENAGE I got mine online at sirennet.com and it is still the cheapest I have seen them. I ran the wire straight up, to the right and between the windshield and headliner and around to the glove box, under that, and to the lighter plug right by the shifter. It was JUST long enough and made for a clean install. be careful, in the heat, sometimes the suction cups will let go. Got in my car once for a call to my light hanging, lol.

  • looks just like mine... i have a b/b slimmiser in my dash below my mirror in my pickup but its offset by clear hideaways in my highbeams, 2 48led blue grille lights and 12 3 led b/a grille lights...

  • how much did that cost you?

  • if you get them at the right place, 70$

  • are you usa people allowed to use light bars intended only for police use? in my country you cant use that if you are not an emergency vehicle

  • it depends by state but in most red and blue are not allowed while amber is. Although in some states you may have them on in your car but you must not be moving or it is considered impersonation of an officer.

  • I am not sure what the exact laws in PA are. I know some of the guys at my dept have mini LED light bars on their POV and one FP officer at a neighboring dept has a full LED lightbar are her truck, which is also a POV.

  • PA laws allow Volunteer Firefighters to use Blue and white. you can have a full size light bar if you wanted to it just cant be red and blue. fire police and chief or asst. chief can run red and white with siren

  • Not all FP can run red. Like the line officers of the department, only the officers in the FP can run reds. Everyone else is blue. And if you have reds, you need a siren.

  • That's so strange to me. Here in WA, volunteers can get arrested for using any lights. Police can use whatever they want, blue, red, red/blue, red/clear (not common though. Usually it's red and blue, but you see all blue here and there.

  • I thought WA you could use green

  • I know some states, like NY, utilize green for EMS.

  • @93fordboy ooo really im a voulnteer fire fighter for OHio i never heard of that before i mean it could be true i havn't been doing this for long tho but just i thought that Blue was used for Police only rather it was Blue /'white blue/blue or blue/ red but Fire Figthers could use Red/ Red Red/white or Red/Amber atleast im pretty sure thats the way it is here but it thought almost every state was like but i guess i could be wrong

  • @AmericanNinja85 Varies by state although most run that setup new york and connecticut run different

  • @blbal18

lol yea kinda realize that now i know Penn vol FF run Blue and the Officers run Red alot of states do differ from Each other altho it should be universal

  • @AmericanNinja85 only chiefs are aloud to run red

  • @engine12f

what state are you talking about cuz not in Ohio cuz in Ohio all firefigthers no matter th level can run all red or red and white but an NOT use blue or blue and red together

  • @93fordboy not true we can run red and blue not red and white and no siren allow on a personel vehicle unless it has an emergency licence plate

  • Does this light move cars day and night

  • Night, yes. Daytime, it depends. The sun really washed out any LED light, but I have moved cars before in the sun. Never has this light moved a vehicle with dark tint on the rear in the day.

For the price, I think this is a great investment.

  • agreed. this light work BEAUTIFULLY at night. in the day, its kinda depends, some people move and some dont

  • What kind of car do you have? The shield does not fit snugly against my wind shield, but the flash back is not too bad. It is more off of the dash, but my dash is black, and not that reflective. It just gets lit up blue.

  • if your going to use it permantly as a winsheild mounted light, use black opoxy around the edge of the shroud as filler for any open spaces where light shines through causing flashback. its easy cleanup just cock wipe any access with your finger and upon removal use a razor blade to scrape the glass clean. little trick the big boys use. have fun and be safe. ~SGT J. • i have an easy fix to your day time problems...just buy some headlight flashers for your model car, they have them on Galls, i just got mine today and have yet to install them, but i plan on just having my slimmiser, hlf's, and maybe a blue/blue mini phantom for the back window...HLF would do the trick, mine only cost 50 bucks

  • Thank you for the suggestion. I have thought about it.

    Stay safe!

  • i like that you only have one light. That is all that is needed. I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

  • Yeah. I love the people who have as much money invested in lights as they do their car. It makes me laugh, but at least they are enjoying what they do (or I would be lead to think so).

    Stay safe!

  • Yea i would rather get a good pair of boots or something. Your setup is perfect

  • Unfortunately the lighting required depends on the locations and traffic conditions typically dealt with in the responses and frequency of usage. On the sides of GA Interstates or HWYs, the Intense lighting set ups are essential to providing any warning at distance. They Definetely(!) are overkill on surface streets or but the more rear facing lights are a lifesaver when stopped on Hwys.

  • You are definitely not at whacker level.

    Stay safe

  • I must not have been clear, I meant that there are no laws in CA about what colors emergency vehicles can use, they can use whatever they want, but POVs are never allowed anything but orange/amber

  • California doesnt have laws aboot who can use which lights. But I sure as hell know I've never seen a volunteer with lights on his POV, that just isnt allowed.

  • ... so then they do have laws

  • yeah, lol, I guess so, red and blue are both illegal

  • Not sure. Never seen or used the visor or know anyone who has it.

  • Do you just have the slimmiser? How does it clear traffic? I don't want to put the money into a whole bunch of lights, so I was thinking of just a slimmiser. Would it do the trick?

  • It does a decent job. Like any light, it is not as effective in sunny conditions, but an overcast day it is fairly effective and especially at night. If you look at my other video of responding at night you can see how bright it is when it reflects off signs and such. I got this for under $80 and it is a great bargain for the price.

  • I just want to know why you chose blue lights. It just seems to me that fire dept POV = red. Is it because they stand out better than red LEDs? Or is it some northern thing, because down here in TN, it's illegal for firefighters to run with any blue lights on POVs.

  • ehy man i have one of those too and up north like in ct and some parts around here blue is the color for volunteers....dont ask why i wish it was red but its just the color we can have

  • If you read the other comments, blue is the law around here, as for most other northern states. I think the law makers feel a siren/reds would be too dangerous for volunteers because of lack of experience, but people just don't move for blues because they can't see them (in the day) and theres no siren to get there attention. Its also just a law to yield the right of way to blues.

  • blue is for volunteers in new york and red is for chiefs and assitant chiefs. police use combination red and blue. a new study shows that blue is the most affective color for grabbing attention at long distances so they put blue and red on the backs of the state police, they stand out for like a mile

  • here in NY blue is just considered a courtesy light.

  • well...uhh...there's quite a difference between TN and PA. lol

  • I have the same set up on my POV. Do you have any problems with getting the lights to stay on your windshieild? I always think they're going to fall off.

  • I have had them on since they were installed back in June (4 months) and they have stayed on quite strong. I cleaned the windshield really well with glass cleaner first and then wet then made sure the glass was completely dry before applying the suction cups. Make sure the suction cups are clean too. Good luck and be safe.

  • oh ok

  • if you a cop doesnt the dept pay for your lights and siren?

    thx

  • I'm a volunteer fire fighter, so I paid for them myself.

  • oh ok...I did that too and I put 3,000$ in strobes in my car

  • By the way, I should have video of that up in about 4 months or less. Need to get the money to buy the speaker and then have everything professionally installed.

  • That is awesome. Right now I have a mini-phantom and was debating between the Slim-Miser or the Whelen Power Air Horn. I decided to go with the electronic air horn because I've seen personal vehicles with really expensive light setups and for some reason people still don't pull over. So hopefully running an air horn it will grab peoples attention and then I can just lay on it to get them to move.

  • I have only used it once since I just installed it, but in the one response at rush hour with bright sun, the SlimMiser could still be seen and was moving cars. I was very impressed with the intensity of the LEDs both at night and during the day. The only downside is that in my sedan there is flashback b/c of the angle of the windshield. The cover has a sloped front, but it is sloped to fit what I am guessing is a large SUV or truck.
