I play British, I tested other nations (French, Ottoman, Dutch). I respect Dutch because they are tremendously strong at the end of play, but I think British wisely used are without equal. Well, only using British I managed to beat expert bots :)

I'm really liking the Dutch, get the resources to have 4 banks, get 2 mills, harvest wood, all gathering upgrades, build a wall, get around 120 soldiers all halberdiers and ruyters, and if there is an ocean, boat around the back and destroy enemy buildings with monitors. Solid plan, I'm thinking about playing as French and British though.

Dutch are definetly my favorites just because of their solid economy, though you sure have to protect the banks, and the German have the strongest army in my opinion.

@TheLiamcol Halberdiers are also a reason why I like the Dutch, really awesome unit against anything, and in Asian Dynasties, you can get a card that makes them faster, halberdiers are really useful when fully upgraded.

1 - Portuguese. extra town centers useful for early stages in the game where you are constantly spamming settlers. Fully upgraded Cassadors with all shipment improvements lets them mow down enemy infantry. Best dragoons in the game, an excellent counter for the french cuirassiers. My shipment cards are literally all improvements

@SteelBulletZz I absolutely agree with you man. Portugese is really the best one. You forgot about fully upgraded organ guns, absolutely devastating for infantry.

As for shipment cards, improvements are most of them for me as well. :D

The French and Spanish are weak and mostly boring civs, Dutch can replenish a fierce army in an almost non stop pace you can have 8 banks with revolution and 10 without. The Germans are good, their hussars are good for an early defense but not as a regular unit, the settle wagons are highly useful as well and if u can manage mercenaries the Germans are the best with them. Russian sodiers are the weakest even when max upgraded, I think it tell us all.

Nothing beats the British they're the most balanced civilization for all strategies

The Portuguese economy can be easily boomed with extra town centers, they have useful military and naval cards too. The Iroquois light cannons are mostly useful and work against anything. The Sioux can overwhelm anyone with extra plp and massive cavalary. The Dutch economy makes room for extra military if wisely used it can be awesome. Spanish and French are boring and for noobs. The Asian civs are all screwd up.

I almost never build navy, so Portugese are useless for me, Iroquois are just weak, Sioux have no walls and artillery, Dutch have great economy but weak army, I agree that spanish are for noobs, but French are extremely powerful

@gogolplex74 You're missing out on being a better player if you can't play differently land and water strategies with a variety of civilizations and I just told you mine. The Iroquois are wrongly taken as weak once they receive a proper command by a good player they can be as deadly as any with their the travois, light cannons 'n several good unique cards. The Sioux cavalary is the most efficient and fast and their warchief can, with ONE hit kill like 12 artilery units.

1 French (Coureurs are big advantage and Courasiers are also dangerous plus they can have 2 forts)

2 Russian (Blockhouses and mass trainings are very useful)

3 Japanesse (Extremely strong)

4 British (manor houses are very useful and rockets are great)

5 German (settler wagons are useful and Doppelsoldners are deadly)

6 Ottoman (they are acually the strongest with Spahis and Bombards, but I hate Turkey, so I don't play for them)

@gogolplex74 The Warchiefs civs are in no way weak at all. Ex. Aztecs have units strong against everything. Iro's have musket riders strong vs horse as well as tomos good against horse and forest prowlers being a strong stealthy anti inf unit. Sioux have horses to take on any unit with ease, the infantry are a mere bonus. As well, the barracks from all 3 are ranged(more dmg).

@gogolplex74 You clearly havent played sioux enough. The horses alone can take on anything. Pikes cant even touch them. 1) axe riders can alone kill pikes, rifle riders take care of any heavy infantry(i.e dopples/samurais), and the bow riders sit behind and kill everything else at the same time. And walls are not needed with a stable enough defense from your army.

The only good thing about the Dutch is the banks other then that thay suck.The Russians are very good because they can get troops very very fast and they can rebuild forts with musketers. The French are very good defending and making the enemy have to spend resorces to rebuild after an attack by them . The British are good early game. Germans are very good at range combat. Spanish are good at Attacking fast and early. Ottomans are good for siege and economy. The Portuguese has good anti cavalry

theyr wealth income is just outstanding! trade incomes bought with easy so the dutchies have no fear.

france is also the game ender because cuirassiers!(best cavalry besides the mercenaries)

are unstoppable with the *instant ready* package

UK is also a game ender but the comment is to big for the details

if you ask me, german is brilliant against cavalery but only a bit good against infantry, however they got nice hussar, spain has very strongth army with hussar, ottoman is great cause of free settler producation and last but not least france, they are semi-hard, cause if you are ottoman or spain you will get very hard against them because of france got cuirassier and great skirmisher

Dude are you dumb? British manor boom combined with shipment upgraded age 2 musketeers and longbow men is the single most powerful force battlefield.

British have the strongest anti heavy infantry unit at their disposal: The longbow man, that is later upgraded to Yeoman. British also have the strongest musketeers and the strongest Hussars that are good even against the over powered Imperial Gendarmes. The only downside is the Brittain´s late game economy.

It depends. For supremacy, Dutch are the best. Strong infantry and quick boom to age 3, where you can start to whore Ruyters (over powered).

For Treaty, which is horribly unbalanced by the way, France and Japan are the safest bet. Mainly because of their superb economy and easy to spam units that are strong (Skirmishers, Gendarmes and Samurais)

Favorite: French: Better villagers equals more recources and more soldiers, and a large vaiety of military units.

Least Favorite: Germans: Poor recource collectors and only effective later in the game (Which by then you're already destroyed).

Dutch. The gold always flows, your army is always 150+ of your population, and Skirmisher rush/ early defense oppourtunities make them the best civ for a turtle/boom. The Dutch win hands down.

British, and Ottomans! Ottomans have strong economy towards the middle/end of the game, but takes time to build. The british allow you to get set up fast so you can flay your enemies, but the units are much stronger than the russians.
