the reason why is to make sure you have the right set up for clutch if your running one, make sure everything is in order before you make a pass down the track and hoping your not going to end up sideways on a concrete retaining wall.

if u run alcohol in ur car do u need to pour the gas into there to start it everytime??

yes because you need something to start it with if you listen you will hear the engine rev high then die that's because you have to shut the fuel off and run it dry if you don't you the cylinders still have alcohol in them and you could blow the heads off the next time you start it so you shut the fuel off then let it die

Not sure about the car engines but on Alcohol powered karts and stuff liek that. a lot of times to keep the Alcohol from gumming up the carbs they'll switch it and run it on gas before they shut em' off.
