  • Thank you very much for posting this video, it's very helpful.

  • Realy helpful thank you

  • Great great tutorial! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I have a question though. How would you approach a walk moving through the scene instead of in place like this example?

  • Do you know if those commands you write in the value parameter is possible in 3ds max? I can't seem to get it to work. A good and tidy tutorial btw :) Thx

  • @LightOblivion Im not sure...I never use max. Sorry

  • Would be good a rigging tutorial of this level, that would be awsome

  • Hello Kyle,

This was a great tutorials. I came across many things which I am not aware of. One of them is the ' values ' that you put in the graph editor to tone down the curve by percentage and the one to reverse the curve. Can you write them down for me.. I was not able to see them in the video.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • @adityapuranik The formulas for scaling/changing timing work like this. In the VALUE/TIME box (on the graph editor/Dope Sheet) you type (1) The function of the operation (2) equals sign (3) a number for the change you want. To scale the curves by 50% (*=.5) or if you want to scale it so that the its 20% bigger (*=1.2) or to totally invert the curve (*=-1) and in the dope sheet, to move all the keys 12 frames later (+=12) in the TIME box. Hope this makes sense.

  • Hi Kyle, thank you for the tutorials. I enjoyed this as much as the mambo one. You are a gift to the community. I can only hope to see more learning videos/books from you!

  • @blurymind Many thanks for the positive feedback, its very encouraging and Im planing more learning materials in the future. Cheers!

  • a great gift!

  • @jairobbo great spacesuit btw, did you model it?

  • hi Kyle, do you think you could do one tutorial for walking across the screen? Currently having an assignment on that :P.

  • @MiaCatalan0 Good Idea...but I dont think I can do it before your assignment is due :)

  • @3dmasterclass No prob, hope to see it for future ref! :D

  • Great tutorial Kyle!

  • Thank you very much!

    Respect!

  • Let me say that this is the BEST walk cycle tutorial I've ever seen, there's just one thing that I don't get but it's not your fault: why every 3D software doesn't mirror & time offset by default the movements of the limbs ?

  • @theonlyreallaz Thanks for that great feedback! Good question about the mirroring, hopefully the developers are watching.

  • WOOOOOW!! this is Super! Thank you very much for this Awesome tutorial!!. Im speechless!! The Kyle Balda actually mentions my name!!! It's like Scoopy snack! Thank you Kyle!!

  • @ryaneabonitalla Way sapayan akong pare

  • Kyle! your new tut, is fantastic.

i wanted to ask you the formulas you use in the graph editor.its the first time i see those, and its very interesting. but it is a little blured and small. can you write them?

and another thing. you talked about something about the foot. that it is old style rig. what did you meant?

  • The formulas for scaling/changing timing work like this. In the VALUE/TIME box (on the graph editor/Dope Sheet) you type (1) The function of the operation (2) equals sign (3) a number for the change you want.
