  • Pinocchio should've just shouted, "DON'T TOUCH ME THERE!" and proceeded his merrily way.

  • Monkey: The bug's talking! Talking!

Oh yeah, sure. Cos a talking monkey is really normal.

  • I knew I didn't dream this movie up! It's been so many years, then for some reason I remembered it all of a sudden while half asleep.

  • K except they say Pinochhio is the only puppet to ever be a real boy so Twinkle was always a puppet right so no parents.

  • i Just love what she does with her arms xD

  • The pharoah's ruby or the pharoah's boobie?!

  • this film use to give me nightmares when i was little

  • I was wondering what Twinkle might have done that was so bad to become a puppet, because in part 14 she says "I'm free!" so yeah.

  • At the shot on 2:05, who knew that Filmation had such awesome animators? They were the freaking purveyors of crap cartoons.

  • @Poever

This was their most impressive work yet and didn't relay on reusing poses, walk movements and recycled animation but actual animation with life and was their most expensive project

  • @michaelsar12 Did it Used Hanna Barbera Sound Effects in pinocchio and the emperor of the night

  • What happened to the Fox and the Cat?

  • Pinocchio is Twitterpatted...XD

  • O_O" ...The puppet master has some big lips...XD

  • @9natasha4 He has african relatives.

  • @1122Damien XDD

  • puppetino haunted me for YEARS as a child... omg.

  • So a giant talking raccoonand his accomplice monkey drops from the sky onto your head, you got no questions?

  • What if Twinkle was just a puppet. Like made from wood.

  • Interestingly enough, Puppetino was voiced by William Windom, who would later voice Uncle Chuck in the popular SatAM variation of "Sonic the Hedgehog". Windom is known for his roles in "Murder She Wrote", "Dallas" and the original "Mission: Impossible" TV series, as well as his role in the 1962 film "To Kill a Mockingbird".

  • My question is....why isn't anyone questioning the whereabouts of her voice? What, do they think Puppetino is singing or something?!

  • I can't believe I hadn't heard of this movie for all this time! This movie is awesome and dark! I can see why critics would claim this movie is simply ripping off the Disney style, but at the same time, I can definitely see how this movie is considered a masterpiece in its own right. I'm 18, and the scene where Pinocchio gets turned back into a puppet scares the hell out of me! Whenever I see that puppet master, I think about the King Diamond album of the same name, it totally fits!

  • Pinocchio ran away after doing ONE thing wrong... "Real" boys have done far worse and more.

  • thank you! you rock for putting this movie on here....

  • Does anyone here thin that Puppetino should've been voiced by Vincent Price?

  • Filmation has Twinkle and Rankin Bass has Julietta? What's with these non-Disney Pinnochio's having a female love-puppet-interest?

  • @minespatch Was Julietta in The New Adventures of Pinocchio or something? If so, do you remember which episode?

Also, I think it's just a common plot point that people like to resort to to make the happy ending even "happier".

  • @Floweramon Jullieta was from Pinnochio's Christmas.

    htt p://ww w.yout ube.c om/watch?v=m 9vkqRsk gDA

I'm just bringing it up. The protagonist doesn't always need a love interest.

  • @minespatch Ah, hadn't heard of that one. I'll have to check it out!

And yes I agree completely, particularly when the protagonist is a child.

  • @Floweramon I actually like both this and the Rankin Bass special. The songs are pretty good. I just felt the question had to be brought up.

  • @minespatch I understand, I also think this movie is pretty good (I prefer the Disney version, but this movie is very enjoyable as well). People can enjoy something and still point out stuff that bugs them, at least in my opinion.

  • When she sings about parents, well, every kid gets mad sometimes at parents and tired of them telling you what do (In that moment, kids don't think that parents do that to their own good).

The last line is like she finally can passes HER message 'No one to hold you now', so, run while you can, while you still have your freedom and Puppetino cannot control you.

  • I just thought about something. Twinkle's song has some messages.

When she sings about the trips, is like she is calling someone of the public to join the Carnival, to trip and see the whole world and do whatever them want to do, which is ironical since once you joins the Carnival, you'll lost your freedom and won't be able to do what you want. Plus, you'll be a slave, so, you surely won't be happy. (I don't say she does in purpose, ok?)

  • I believe The Emperor and Puppetino killed her parents as now she's an orphan. But perhaps after everything goes well at the end of the movie, maybe she gets new foster parents.

  • And maybe she gave up of her free will thinking that they would save her parents if she did so.

I think she went to live with Gepetto and Pinnochio.

  • But for a little while until she could live with a happy couple for foster parents then later when they reach age 17, i believe she went back to be with her lover and probably explored each other in that you know what way to express their love for each one. Then they got hitched and had kids of their own as Pinocchio became a head toymaker with Geppeto retired and Scalwag with Igor owning a business of their own. Someone should do fanfic stories based on this movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Either that, or Twinkle might have run away with a desire for her own freedom, before paying the price for abusing that freedom. That, of course, is another theory.

  • Maybe it's easier to be a puppet since you just do what people WANT you to do.

    Easier? Maybe.

    Happier? HELL, NO!

  • "This is the last straw!"

What are you gonna do? You're in a hat, bitch.

  • Twinkle's face looks... scary... 6:18

  • This movie was horrifying to me as a child but I loved it! I always watched it! I'm so excited that somebody posted this!

  • @aquangel555

I happen to be that person who posted this.

  • it such sad song and kind of seems like she is trying to convince herself

  • @ayame400 Agree... It's like the man of the carnival makes her sing that as if he was mocking of her pain and sorrow....

  • I've been searching for this for YEARS!

  • evil movie

  • wrong

  • This brings the memories back.....

creeped me out as a child.

  • I think Twinkle's song tells us how she got to the carnival in the first place. She ran away from home and got tricked just like Pinocchio.

  • @KrystelLucas i sooo never thought about it like that... wow

  • 6:31 It's Serge Gainsbourg and France Gall.

  • Dude, that song is freaking depressing.

  • Comment removed

  • It's creeapy as hell! This carnival is like the one from "Something Wicked This Way Comes"...they "grant your wish", then take your soul and get you to join them

  • @wickedfeylady

You know your so right, this is more like Something Wicked This Way Comes then Disney's Pinocchio.

  • Hey, at scene 4:54, there's a guy wearing Disney's Pinocchio's hat XD

  • same color pants n shirt too

  • LOL

  • Did she look REAL creepy in scene 6:18 to anyone else?

  • yeah, I thought so too. something`s NOT right about that ...that l-look...?

  • haha agreed.

  • omg i havent seen this in a looooooong time!

  • It's the dance she keeps doin for "do what makes you happy" that makes me laugh, she looks like she's throwing confetti 6:00

  • 6:04 , lol a lil chicken inside the teapot XD

  • When I first saw this when I was little I thought Gepetto shouted: "You GET OUT!!"

  • lol he said "you did whaat?....*boing*

  • 6:18 used to scare me as a child i was soo creeped out thou i was looking for it for the longest time. THANX i subscribed

  • i keep having dreams of the blue fairy godmother singing

  • What puzzles me is how a guy with a name like "Puppetino" can speak with a working-class cockney dialect.

  • can you send me this song someone please?

  • I love her song, it's so cute.

  • Please! Can you send me the mp3 of Twinkle's song??? I love it!

  • It looks like Pinocchio has his first crush on Twinkle. Too bad the disney doesn't has one. I love Twinkle, she's my faovirite character.

And Twinkle use to be a real girl, but the evil puppet master tune her into a puppet.

  • Was Twinkle always a puppet, or did the puppetmaster turn her into one?

  • It's never outright said anywhere in the movie, but it's strongly speculated that she had been a real girl before the carnival ensnared her (as that's what they do).

  • Aw poor Pinocchio always the sucker in life!

  • I always wondered what was with the puppetmaster's English accent? A possible nod to the sinister Coachman in the Disney film who also spoke in a similar accent?

  • Nah. I think all Americans generally think that we're evil. :S

  • I don't. O.o

  • PLEASE! someone write me the lyrics!!!!!!

  • What lyrics?

  • the lyrics of twinkle's song...

    i can't understand..

  • PART 1

New York to Paris, London to Rome

Dreamers and dancers don't need a home

Do what I want to, go where I will

Take what I wish and tear up the bill.

Dreamin and dancin, do what makes you happy

Life of romancin, do what makes you happy

No home to go to, no one to hold you...

  • Thanks :-)

Now I can sing this song hahaha..

    Byee

  • @cwk12782 WOW thats incredibly accurate..... the dance life really is like that..... party every night, no real intimacy tho.

  • PART 2

Mothers and fathers get in your way

Don't let you turn the night into day

Hug you and kiss you, no fun at all

You think I miss them, my life's a ball.

Dreamin and dancin, do what makes you happy

Life of romancin, do what makes you happy

No home to go to, no one to hold you...

No one to hold you now

  • I gotta get this on dvd to add to my collection of memory dvd's as I was growing up ha this was certainly one of them.

  • Even 1 year after he learned his lesson, Pinocchio is still a gullible fish.

  • I think he might have an attention dis-order too. I mean everything shiny and colorful distracts him

  • Well not really on Gheppeto cause he looks different and so is the Good Fairy, only this time the Fairy is more babe-o-licious.

  • Also, it is a raccoon and a monkey who mislead Pinocchio initially in this cartoon, instead of a fox and a cat. Also, instead of Jiminy Cricket, we have a wooden glow worm, Gee Willackers, who gets magically brought to life. Also, the puppet master in this movie has a mustache instead of a beard, and seems to be a bit of a magician.

  • Wow. Pretty much all of the characters are exactly like the Disney version, but with the names changed to avoid copyright infringement.

  • Well when Filmation was going to make a series of fairy tale sequels starting with "Pinocchio" then with "Snow White", "Arabian Knights", "Sinbad" (Before Dreamworks made it), "Red Riding Hood", an adaptation of "Alice Through the Looking Glass", "Jack and The Beanstalk" and more. The Disney company sued Filmation over the rights of the character Pinocchio in animation but they defended that Pinocchio was never made by Disney but by Carlo Collodi and the case was won.

  • Yeah, I love Disney but they had no case there.

  • This was my favorite part because I always loved to sing with her. She's so cute =) my fav..

  • I know the puppetmaster is controlling Twinkle at the show, but who's providing her voice I wonder...

  • Maybe it was the puppetmasters voice? lol

  • aww i used to watch this when i was little i used to love it ! brings bk so many memories of them carefree days ! thanks for posting ! x

  • The puppet'tino fellow scared the hell out of me as a child... = (

  • The Phoarahs Ruby-lol

  • what does twinkle say in the song? i don't understand everything....

  • new york to paris, london to rome, dreamers and dancers don't need a home, do what I want to go where I will, take what I wish and tear up the bill. dreamin and dancin do what makes you happy, life of romancin D.w.m.y.h. no home to go to, no one to hold you, no one to hold you now-- that's the beginning, tell me if you need to know more...

  • Thanks for this upload Johnlindsey289, it's been 18 years since i saw this movie on TV, still...I was wondering...i'm not that good at the "legal" stuff. Won't this upload give you problems with Filmation(I think it no longer exists) or with someone that owns the rights of it? Still, thanks for this.. 5 stars and hope they don't remove this

  • Well Entertainment Rights bought rights to this!

  • Well the U.S. and Canadian rights belong to Starz since they own most of New World Pictures's stuff.

I think Starz should do a special edition DVD with audio commentary by Lou Schemier and co., a featurette with interviews, Trailers, TV Spots, and still gallery. If they could release Howard The Duck and Night of the Creeps this year on DVD then maybe Starz should do the same thing, just right to Anchor Bay or Starz.

  • Let's start a petition!

  • Yeh i know, that's awesome cause i am a fan of this movie and Filmation.

  • Edward Asner and Frank Welker seem to be in everything together - as Scowl & Batso in "Happily Ever After" (Igor had a cameo in that film) and Hudson & Bronx in Disney's "Gargoyles".

  • Thanks for uploading these! this was my fave film as a kid used to watch it repeatidly ^^ lol

  • LOL!

  • LOL, you are metioned in wikipedia as a fan who uploaded the movie! LOL

check wikipedia "Pinocchio and The Emperor of the Night"

  • What I wanna know is why Pinocchio gets a hard-on while watching a female puppet.

  • He was a puppet himself.

  • So since I was once a child myself, I should get a hard-on while looking at one? Cool!

    I'm kidding, of course. ^^

  • Same here!

  • Pinocchio kind of looks like the Caveman dude from the Daffy Duck cartoon "Daffy and The Dinosaur" and Mario from the Super Mario Brothers games (Similar outfit). And how could Gheppeto tell if the ruby was fake?
