@rjenman lol, 10 years ago here one could have picked up a full-size one of these for $50 (bodies on these were renowned for their rust issues) - now there is few older pre1985 RWD Japanese cars left in NZ, and of those that remain, the values are steadily increasing...
So between show car and especially work i still havnt built my model. B4 i do, question for joh2, not sure if theres an english ver. of manual anywhere but could you tell me which steps for sure need glue? +any other tips I may need? Want 2 make sure no regrets. lol, thx :)
For this model (and all other Aoshima models I have built) the entire instruction handout was in Japanese, but the exploded view diagrams told me where everything belonged. As for glue, don't use it on parts intended to move (steering, wheels)...
hey what do u do with the box after u finish it? i have all 5 of unbuild and all brand new in the box. don't have time for these. is hasegawa 67' toyota 2000gt, arii 82' toyota supra 2.8 liter, tamiya 24062 toyota supra 3.0 gt, fujimi 1989- toyot supra turbo-a, and the original from the first produced 24123 toyota supra by tamiya and only left hand drive only box kit.
i like your videos. just take you time on the paint and dont use so much. just barely mist the body. do 2-3 coats of grey primer. then 2-3 of white primer (unless you are painting your car black or grey or drak blue). then do 5-6 mist coats of the main, then do a clear. just take it easy and take your time
hey nice work, can you tell me how you do the black finishing - example the spoiler ? what do you use? spray cans or paint, and if you used paint did you use a brush to paint it on or what? Please help my car is in a big mess now ;(
Heya, I used a regular brush and flat paint for those (the brush marks DO NOT show!) - don't put much on the brush, and one can paint between the indented area of the plastic.
Very nice. After I saw this I bought the exact same kit on ebay. I also got a separate 1/24 wing kit. I'm going to make it match my 1981 corolla sedan show car. Mabe later I put the model on the hood @ car show. haha =)
Replicating your own car with a model - too cool (I "attempted" that approach by painting a 2nd gen '94 Subaru Legacy Wagon model in the same dark green colour of my father's '92 Legacy - 1st gen)... Hope it goes up on YT when finished!
hi! can you tell me what kind of spray paint is that i mean the name cos i have a 1:24 model here and dont know what paint to use cos some paint burns plastic..
see that model makes sense, my 97 supra f&f came with a grey body and parts, which was ok for the interior bc it was black but the body was supposed to be orange(i painted it white to match my real supra) but either way, it had to undergo about 6 coats before it was really white. xlent video btw
hey! That's pretty cool, did you order yours, or find it at some store...if so could u please tell me? Hey, and how did u get the black trim on with out getting on the red paint?
Heya, I got my one from Acorn Models in Christchurch, New Zealand - It can be ordered from the net though, and a good place of call is Hobby Link Japan, findable thru Google. As for the black trim - I was being INCREDIBLY steady on the paintbrush!
hey bro i have a real 82 corolla gt but a few things look diffrent .i have no grill things on the back pillar and i have gt badges that the a guy a the toyota club [new zealand] said it was the 1st time he seen then.
Ah ok, yeah they are quite uncommon (was your one a Japanese import?) in GT form. They were certainly a LOT more advanced (Twin Cams) than the 1.3DX variety normally seen on NZ roads! - As for the grille on the back pillar, I've seen in many '82 Corollas with them bodycoloured...
hey mate, i would very much like to know the brand and model number of that kit, as i drift one of those cars and would like to build a scale model of it. A video of me drifting it on track can be found if you look for driftke70 one word. Cheers.
The kit is 1/24 scale-plastic by Aoshima, and its model number is AOS31377 - they are quite hard to come by however, although luckily there are sites selling it over the net -
Oh yes, I saw your ke70 (looks an Aussie build one), a v.good drift machine you have there!
Its great with the likes of this (being Youtube) that one can show something to many that when I think of it otherwise would have only ever seen by a select few...
The modelling, for me it all comes with 2 years now of experience, trial and error - The program I used here was Ulead VideoStudio 10 - it might (when purchased legally) cost $99US, but it is a FAR FAR better videoediting tool than Windows Movie Maker!!!
how do u add engine
