  • Damn this is best Hip Hop I heard, it takes real skills to make something meaningful and this doesn't even have any curses ! all the shit we hear now is like "Yo Nigga down wit yo'mama fuck bitches" and crap like that, I am bored in 94, I feel sorry for my generation , and sorry about beiber guys

  • This that joint... ... He rocked it in the mid 90's Respected this dudes flow and his cuts.

  • @icyb94 AGREED!

  • Great description man. Interesting shit.

  • This music video is composed of 90% the video they wanted to make and 10% random clips of that movie spliced in.

  • So ill very good message

  • Nobody likes satan but everybody wants to die and go to heaven

  • music these days CAN'T touch these classics.

im so tired of mother****ers trying to remake or sample our golden years.

these robots: Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane,

Waka Floka, Wiz Khadafi (wtf his name is),

The Dirty South Rappers are pure garbage these days except:

Goodie Mob, Old Luda, Old T.I. , Scarface, Outkast & that's it for now

  • @UltraDOG17 You forgot little brother, cunninlynguists,etc.

  • Reminds me of my coming of age days...a classic.

  • I hate to admit this, but this the first time I heard of this song....Back then I only listened to my favourite one which was "I wish". My problem is that I never give their other songs a chance. Still I feel like I'm back in the 90's. Amazing times.

  • Miss these days before the illuminati took over the hiphop turning us into mindless morons.

  • @adam3176 i love this song too, but the illuminati hasn't done shit to hip-hop, change in pop culture and consumerism has, i actually love a lot of the rappers that are accused of being in the illuminati

  • @poeggy199 then they got you under their control laugh at me and dont believe it but soon we will all see HELL!!! HAHAHAH

  • @adam3176 No, rappers like snoop, dre, ice cube selling out an rappers like biggie,2pac,eazy,big pun dying all contributed to hiphops downfall.

  • @adam3176

So true! I agreed with ya man!

this music was back when music was gold & original.

people weren't scared to stand out & don't fit in with the crowd!

  • if there is any way an hd version could be posted it would be greatly appreciated, thank you so very much for posting this!

  • awww yeaahhh...

  • Wow amazing song I was born in 1994 but I was like 6 when I heard hip hop I wish I was around alot earlier so I could grow up with this music the hip hop played today is so boring the beats are all the same and the songs have no meaning to them and everyone is using an auto tuner. It sounds fake and really robotic I hate it.

  • 12 people are livin on the bottom

  • woooaw, i got emotional. The memories, the hip hop, fuck. 90s come back...please

  • Directed by our movie director, Marty Thomas!

  • This is pretty cool. Too bad I found his myspace page and heard him using curse words in a live video. Oh well, I will pray he turns to God and starts using his skills and talent for Him. Grateful for Lecrae, Flame, Tedashii, Pro, Json and other rappers that spread the truth of Christ over tight tracks!

  • This is so awesome old school shit!!! Hip hop and rap are dead nowadays if you compare those to da real old school hip hop and rap like this! :(

  • spreading the truth, especially for a shy person and nerds

    need more songs like this

  • Awesome song.

What's the film in the video?

  • @NeptuneNetwork Looks like Money Train?

  • Wht rapper would even admit if its true that he worked at McDonalds? This dude was true. He is what hip hop needs now but will never see mainstream.

  • Gotta love this song, if rap woulda stayed like this the game would be elevated 100 times more real talk.

  • Fuckin talented guy! One of the best rappers , totally underestimated... Awesome timing...

  • the real hip hop

  • :]

  • wish commercial rap still sounded like this!

  • "To all my little brothers out there, it's cool to be on top, but don't ever forget where you came from. Most importantly, you better remember, the little guy you step on to get on top is the same guy you're gonna run into going back down."

Words of advice that should have been heeded by every 15-second wonder, from Soulja Boy and Nelly, to Usher, Asher Roth, The Game, MIMS and a few hundred other rappers no one cares about anymore.

  • it sounds the way hip hop is supposed to..fu**ing good!

  • @Lorenshyne That's beautiful man.

  • @Lorenshyne Lil' Wayne, change the life of so many ppl, they went from bad to worst. This is real hiphop from 90's

  • Genious! All was better in tha 90`s.....

  • 1:45 Shout-out to all the other rappers who got a million honies knockin on their doors, but don't score due to fear of disease.

  • this is da real shit. todays rappers aint worth 2 cheers

  • Skee lo's awesome, although I wouldn't say he was an anomaly for not rapping about guns, bitches and bling, De La Soul had the same type of thing going on but yeah they're awesome

  • ey where can i gethis album

  • yo where can i get this song or album

  • classic mid-90s west coast rap

  • money train

  • Man, I remember listening to this song in Cali and i was a little child. I missed these type of rap, no violence or multiple sex partners. When I hear this song, i cried because I miss this type of rap and the memories are great.

  • i feel bad for liking new music. 90s were great. anyone know a song that sounds like swagg- gitfresh

  • it is da best i have listened to !!!!

  • This was one of the songs i used to wake up to in the morning on my cd player gettn ready for high school, freshman year

    damn i miss this ish....

  • don't ever say fuck hiphop.... nowadays shit is NOT hiphop

  • Not all hip hop is negative.

  • This song is a testament to how beautiful and great hip hop can be, especially from 3:43 to 3:57

  • like MrKakatoes said give your props to patrice rushen. Song was "Remind Me". Also "forget me nots" = MIB song by the karate kid's dad

  • @jeffc6676 you mean will smith?

  • @5word5linger yeah, Will Smith's Men in Black.

  • I love this song

  • patrice rushen sample

  • FROM MY HOMETOWN! PO TOWN REPRESENT!

  • Man, this guy was such an underrated rapper. Sure, he'll always be known for his song "I Wish", but I have to give him credit. He didn't need to curse, rap about violence or hos in order to be good.

  • i like how its mixed up with money train

  • Its depressing to think that rappers like Skee Lo are laughed at or looked down on today because they're not "hot" whatever the hell that means these days (Apparently Lil Wayne and Flo Rida are hot)

I'm lucky enough to remember the 90's. It wasn't so great back then either. I remember how other black rappers laughed at rappers like Skee Lo and Will Smith for being clean

  • @7MMXX The reason that rappers like Skee-Lo & Will Smith were mocked is because they didn't sell themselves out like today's rappers. I have enormous respect for Skee-Lo, because he didn't conform to the changing landscape of music industry, which had begun it's downfall in late 1997. The industry has never truly recovered since then.

  • Now, this is real music. I miss those days*sobbing* I am really crying because it bring back memories

  • no cars,no blingbling,no money bills,no grills,no women,no nothing,just pure fucking hiphop shit.

  • @nabeelballer lol blingbling? what are you 12?

  • @travis30384 what you mean??!

  • @nabeelballer TRUE

  • @nabeelballer the way it should be now.

  • @nabeelballer fair play for that comment sick of cunts singing bout wat they have pure shite

  • @nabeelballer Amen!

  • @nabeelballer

hell yeah... rappers these days are all the same, no originality there... I wish more songs like these would top the lists these days!

  • @nabeelballer dam bruh dats true gud eye

  • @nabeelballer I'm pretty sure he says "at the top of the stairs they got keys to Cadillacs, BMW's, Marcedes Benzs and all of that, and on top of the stairs they got color tvs and even girls come in two pairs"..... i'm not saying i don't like him i'm saying your argument is invalid.

  • @elementskate1337 Wow, talk about it going over your head. Skee Lo is not glorifying those things, he's telling a moral tale about how fame and success is fleeting and "everybody wants to be down with the dude on top of the stairs," but EVERYONE who goes up comes down eventually.

"When you're on top of the world, girls may come, but when you fall down, you won't find one"

In other words, when your 15 minutes are up, no one gives a fuck about you anymore.

  • @GozerTheGozerian Yeah I realized that after the comment, my bad bro.

  • @elementskate1337 I was gonna say exactly what you said lol

  • @nabeelballer don't forget no cussing

  • This is the Money Train soundtrack

  • This song is on fire.

  • which movie clips does these belong to?

  • @0308058 Money Train.

  • TUUUUNE!

  • Im 23 now I was 8 when this came out I get tears in my eyes I miss the 90s

  • This was a classic album!

Don't get me wrong, I was bumpin' gangsta rap as well, but I always prefer Skee's positive style.

  • @McShanful i too had the album

  • @Jenille3000 It was actually really well put together. Good subject matter, dope production. Skee was very underrated. This stuff is MILES ahead of the stuff in the mainstream now.

  • please you guys bring back thes feel good rappers aight

  • I remember when i first heard " i wish", i went straight out and bought his album. So underated! Still love this

  • how come people dislike this song/artist,his fucking amazing!

im metalheads but this song makes me wanna buy his record dude!

  • Can't wait for Skee-Lo in Seattle this Friday @ Tiki Bob's!!!

  • 3:43 - 3:59

Is there a single song out there today with lyrics like that?

  • wat is the name of the movie??????????

  • @hE3Ra The name of the Movie is "Money Train"

  • "...When you're on top of the world girls may come, but when you fall down you won't find one."

Skee-lo was just too real. What rapper nowadays actually talks about the dangers of STDs and keeping integrity and self-respect?

  • Shout outs to all the quarter life crisis having mofos who can't escape the '90s.

  • Comment removed

  • @Genesys101 You misunderstood me... The comment was made in jest - I love the old stuff too.

  • @XionXi Removed the comment, please accept a heartfelt apology from me. I totally misunderstood you and let the blood rush to my head. Most fans of popular groups these days have little idea as to what good, genuine music really is. All I want is for us "new retro" fans to be left alone so that we can enjoy what we know is good. Great to know you're a fellow fan though. Keep the faith in the classic yo !

  • @Genesys101 Don't worry, it's cool.

  • @XionXi deal with it like a G ;D

  • what else could be better than this old school rapper?

  • This song is hot and deep. MY boy Skee-lo keepin it real

  • i dont remember hearing this song in the movie money train lol

  • @radits6996 I just watched it and it's in the end credits which is probably why you didn't hear it.

  • BVM, man your uploading all the one's i'd think you didnt have!!!
