Scooby! I found a great "meal" at the store the other day that only has 270 calories, 15 of those from fat. It wasn't frozen, and doesn't need to be chilled before opening!
It was a Teriyaki Chicken with rice Hormel "Compleats" meal.
i find it interesting that you use the microwave as much as you do. i've read a lot of health articles that say microwaves change the energy of food into something that your body doesn't recognize, but processes it anyway....who knows if it's true of not.
anyway, thanks for the video, it gave me a lot of good ideas. i also think you have the ideal male physic.
Since I am recommending 6 small meals here, the last meal of the day is not going to be very big, 300cals for the average person. Its true that pigging out and then going to bed is bad for weight loss but the meals I am suggesting are fine.
My 15 year old friend is trying to get to 100kgs. He aims to put on around 5 kilos while gaining fitness. Do you think thats healthy? Do you have anything I could reccomend him to eat while doing this? BTW if you only saw your face, you wouldn't realise how big you are lol. I was like, is that photoshopped? lol.
lolz nigga scooby funny that nigga hunz is stupid lol yo but i got a qustion i been working out and my skin has been riping and the way i eat is good no problme wit that
Hi Scooby, I have a health eating question. What is "sugar alc." I recently bought a bunch of protein bars that I thought were zero sugar. After I left the store, I noticed a category I have never seen before. It says "sugar alc 20g." Is it okay to eat if I am trying to eat health, lose fat, and gain muscle?
I dont recommend protein bars at all for those trying to lose weight. If you need something ultrafast, I would recommend a can of nonfat turkey chili over a protein bar. The protein bars have lots of sugar and no fiber.
Most of the foods I recommend here are pretty darn cheap. If you have time, make your own beans and rice as that is the cheapest form of protein you can buy and it just might be the healthiest. A 50lb sack of dry beans at costco is about $13 bucks and it will feed you for months.
Soy milk is great for those who cant tolerate milk or are vegans. It tends to have fat in it though which I do not like at all, if you can find fat free soy milk that would be best.
My naturopath doctor recommended soy milk for me, however I chose to go elsewhere for my liquids because soy milk tends to have extremely high sugar content.
I have become a huge fan of your videos, I've emailed my boss (who puts out a health newsletter for our employees, so many lifeguards will be watching soon!) links to them.
Thank you so much for your videos. They are simple, easy to do, and most of all, they make the process entertaining and fun. you have done a great community service.
hey scooby great videos but one question, if you're not trying to lose weight and trying to build muscle how much more calories do you eat from your daily intake?
If you are not trying to lose weight, you need to up the calories in the chart by about 500/day. Keep weekly skin-fold thickness measurements and adjust your portion sizes up or down based depending if you are losing or gaining fat.
i cant state with words how much this video owns, im favoriting this thing so fast, and i urge all of you to tell your friends, coworkers, neighbors about it,lol
I'm not trying to lose weight..I'm actually just trying to get more muscle. I'm already lean and in decent shape..I just want to improve...Will this still help?
absolutely ninety9soulz, this will prolly improve your overall health even if your health already, plus the plenty of protein in this diet will help you build lean muscle mass
Hey scooby I have a problem. I'm 18 and i've been doing weight lifting for a year now and i've been following a lot of your videos. However I am having a problem with eating. Going from eating a big breakfast , lunch, dinner, snack, to eating smaller meals every 2-3 hrs is hard. I am never hungry and its hard to force myself..also I am running out of what to eat.. could you help me?
I'm not Scooby.. I know. Try eating a smaller breakfast, like a bowl of cereal. Shrink your lunch and dinner too. I've been in the habit of 5 meals a day for awhile -- I remember how hard it was for me to adjust to it too. Don't fill yourself up with a big meal; eat enough to get you to your next meal.
im a big fan of scoobys work, i follow most of his training advices for years now, but this one dissapointed me - 1. there were only a handfull of meals 2. they had 2% variation 3. in my country there are no TVmeals or something similiar so ... - i've been eating vegetables with many diffrent flavours now for 2 weeks and only oats for breakfast - its not hard and it tastes good but its so boooooring... i dont believe somebody could eat like that 4 a year or even longer...
those gnomes of yours have REAL bad attitude - first time anyone's ever farted at me on a website. I think they need to be punished, dump a bag of manure over them.
Great videos, Scooby! All of them aregreat but this is the only one to which it's still possible to comment on, so: congrats to them ALL, and good luck!
Hey Scooby I got a question. I know you get a lot of questions but here it goes. How does one get an eight pack? I'm wondering if it is genetics or definition or something like that. Hope you answer this. Thanks Scooby and keep it up!
Scoobs: Low fat yogurt removes sugar and replaces it with aspartame (which who knows causes cancer). I know you're trying to make fast meals but it might be at the risk of eating healthy. I try to eat organic foods. I am lucky to get my dairy from an organic farmer and it's all raw (not processed). He makes raw yoguart and has raw milk and cheeses. I try to stay away from anything packaged. I believe this will keep my insides healthy and lifting weights makes my outsides healthy.
be careful with raw non pasteurized dairy products, they can make you really ill. If you get non fat plain yogurt there shouldn't be any sugar in it other than the lactose in the milk. You rightly state that aspartame is bad for you but it's in most diet foods, try replacing all instances of sugar with stevia, it is 100x sweeter than sugar, has nho calories and is doesnt affect blood sugar. Best thing to keep your insides healthy is eat lots of vegetables and keep properly hydrated.
can sum 1 plz tel me wat they eat every day and tips abwt muscles, dnt say eggs or beans coz im allergic .. click on my name and send the message. many thnx ..
if you have an average build, and you actually stick to these kind of plans, you should be seeing some physically noticeable changes within a few months, good ones. A year or so and you should have a "Trimmed" or "defined" look as many put it. I think thats about reasonable. But there is nothing like seeing your body change for the better, absolutely nothing can give that sense of satisfaction other than waking up and stretching with an athletic build
Scooby, Im 17 and ive recently started a Diet to remove body fat.
Is it healthy to lose more than a pound a week if you remove it all by means of extensive cardio if you still maintain a balanced diet?
Also, my perimary means of cardio excercise is swimming. Just wondering if you could tell me which stroke is best for toning muscle and burning fat? Some of my friends say crawl is best and i feel more out of breath when i try it, but i have been doing breastroke for as long as i can remember.
Well, you shouldn't necessarily start a diet. You should just change the way you intake your nutrition. Remember all diets are inhealthy because once you stop your diet, your going to be fat again. As for which stroke to use, its the same for cardio. All strokes will give you a good cardio excercise. As for toning muscle by swimming, I have no clue which stroke to use.
I'm just wondering if you think that it is okay to eat candy, in a controlled matter then, after I've lost the amount of fat that my goal was around my waist?
An advice : You can go to a spice (or herb) shop and get some NATURAL spices like cardamom pepper muscat or curry... adding some spice to your food might take 20 seconds but spice makes your food not SO plain and tasteless.
Though all that food looks very tasty WITHOUT spice to me :D
( A pinch of spice wont add 100 calories to your meal. Or will it? )
And a question!
should i train if my muscles ache? (i mean i did squeezers untill i couldnt do more (2 days ago) and my muscles still hurt.
scooby I am having al ittle problem. Now I have watched basically everyone single one of your videos and I have done alot of research on your site. Ive been watching what ive been eating for about 2 months now and do about 20-30 minutes cardio (so I dont die of bordem) and Ive lost only about 4 pounds :|. What could I be doing wrong?
Erm, is it true that pushups do not help your biceps and triceps at all? Because my Dad said that it only helps your pecks. He might be right, but he is proberbly wrong haha, so ill ask an expert like you :)
Great guide, and i actually loved the protein shake. Good guide :P your my motivation to want more healthier life ^^ thanks and keep doing the good work, i bet im not the only one that learns a lot from you.
me too i love wine and beer ,and have been training for 1 year im looking good but cant get the small amount of fat around my belly and chest. its the wine and beer i gues....good luck all!!
Dont completely cut yourself off. A half glass of red wine with dinner isnt that many calories and can have health benefits for some. Cant think of any benefit of beer though :(
scooby, something you might think about investing is a fuzzy logic rice cooker. I use mine all the time, put in rice and water, stir in some herbs and spices, lay some veg (almost any) on the rice, top it with some meat or fish. Press the button and 40 mins later you have a freshly cooked extremely healthy meal. Can be timed too, and of course leftovers can be reheated in the microwave. Most of these type of cookers can make pasta, noodles, stew etc etc, best $250 I have spent in the kitchen.
Nutricycle, thats a good tip. But being Indian I know eating rice a whole lot makes fat accumulate near the belly section. But for occasional hearty meals rice cooker is the way to go. I will try cooking rice with some veggies next time.
By the way the Rice cooker I have goes in to a Microwave .. its more of a container and is super easy to clean - takes about 13mins to cook. I bought it from Walmart for 15 bucks.
use brown rice (unprocessed) or even wild rice and it wont fatten you up. white rice just like white bread is processed garbage that is just simple carbs.
I wish you hadnt mentioned Indian, now i feel like a tika masala with naan and a plate of pakoura.
i can't believe i'm doing this, i stop drinking and eating unhealthy fat food and started jogging then eating peas, corn, and carrots. THIS IS TORTURE!!! i don't know how long i can last!
I'm sure you get used to it. And if you do go back to eating junk food, trust me, you won't feel very good after you just ate a cheese burger, or downed a Pepsi, or polished off a bag of chips. At least in my case, after I eat junk I just say to myself 'OMG WTF DID I EAT THAT?!?!' Which in my opinion is worse than the blank taste of healthy food.
Oh yea, and if you don't like jogging, just try to play some sports, sports are fun :D Plus, you don't think of sports as a pain, but as a treat. :)
I highly suggest getting two books: Body for Life and Eating for Life. They follow the same principle as this guy, but they give many more healthy recipes. Some of them are quick meals, some take some time, and some are in-between. But honestly, I have found that finding 6 meals that you find quick and easy to make and eating those meals every day to be the way to go. Yes, it's boring, and yes it sucks at first, but you honestly do get used to it. Soon you'll find that you crave those meals.
i can use those books, i need to find more recipes, i went to go buy vegetable mix and replace the salmon for mackerel. thx ill go check out some things
Um i have a problem well im 6'5 and 210 and ive been lifting weights since i was 13 and im 16 now, and ive been focusing on defining or enlarging my fore arms do you have any advice?
great vid! btw i have a problem which is i have a small body but huge legs and thighs! i do quite a lot of cardio which has tremendously reduced the fat in my upper body but doesn't seem to be doing anything for my legs. is there a way i can fix this? thanks in advanced!
I ran across this product called herbal life..it is basically an all natural shake which hass all the necessary vitamins, minerals, etc. they also have a bulk and muscle product. have you heard of it and do you recommend it
Wow all this advice is fantastic, Scoobs my hat off to you with a big thankyou, what you are doing is great. Here in Australia there is the same problem with a supermarket filled with bad choices, people have lost the way. But people like yourself make great role models thanks again.
g'day scooby ive been doen one and a half hour intense weight training sesions at the gym cutting out most carbs and eating a high protein diet, is that enough cardio for the day if u clasify it as cardio? this is to obtain a body like urself, cheers
I wish I knew of studies that prove how much protein is too much - anybody know of any? In this video I promote a moderate amount compared to what many BBers use.
man. i have a question. is good make push up and abdominals. when you have 11 years old. plese if you are not the guy of the video plese don't give me a wrong answer...
sorry about my english if you didn't understand ...
are weetabix good? i normally have 3 a day but sometimes 2 a day is that healthy or? also im not the healthiest of kids im 14 weighting 13stone :( not very good is it :(
well erm is there any of your videos that can help me lose my weight pretty fast?
thanks you are really helpful. i am a 16 year old who has been working out for about 2 years and im trying to keep a healthy lifestyle. im in very good shape because i not only work out but i am a full time soccer player as well.your videos are inspiring to me because i would love to look like you when im older.
keep something in your backpack, thats what i did back in highschool. check with your teacher if its ok to snack in class or just do it in between classes. breakfast, break, lunch time, after school, dinner, small snack before bed or while studying. 6 meals :D
Certainly dont have milk if you are alergic, you can substitute soy milk. For the dairy whey I recommend, you can use either egg protein powder or soy protein powder.
the after 9 thing is a myth. the real truth is you shouldnt eat an hour before you go to bed. if you eat before bed, when you sleep, your metabolism goes down and the food just creates fat.
All the meal replacement bars I have seen have either tons of sugar, fat or both. If anyone knows of a nonfat, no sugar bar I'd love to know what it is.
I loved the 6-pack-abs video and then you made this one!! You have to be the coolest motivational you-tuber out there. Hans was hilarious! I was thrown back when he made his first appearance, it was very out of the blue.
Anyways, keep doing what you're doing! Lots of respect.
I can't see a response to my question Scooby....Why did you say no juice and then you gave a recipe for something using orange juice. Can you please respond Scooby?
Hey and does the balsamic vinegar have to have sugar and salt. Becuz the one i got has some. and i was wondering about the lemon oil, does it have sugar?
OK, I was called on this one. Yes, balsamic vinegar does have calories. The reason I called it "zero calorie" is that the stuff is so runny (its waterlike) that I dont think you could ever get more than 5calories worth of the stuff to stick to the veggies.
Thanks Scooby for the advice. Using a frozen banana instead of a normal one for your protein shakes is MONEY. The shake is thicker and probably causes your body to digest more of the whey.
Also I have a nutritious meal that's pretty easy to make. Chicken stir fry with bean sprouts instead of noodles/rice. Use stiry fry seasoning + soy sauce for flavoring and voila. High protein, high fiber, low sugar.
Ps: Not to be rude or anything, but I was wondering your sexual orientation?
Hey Scooby or well anyone else who can answer my question for the past like 4 years now im only 17 ive had "flat stomach" but lately ive noticed that I have two large ab muscles under my ribs that take up most of my abdomen they go down to about mybelly button but I dont have any other abs what does this mean? does it mean i geneticallyonly have a four pack? and the other two are just not showing through or that i only have two abs??? is that possible? Please any information would be appreciated
what is a good meal i can take to school with me without making some kind of mess.

This guys great. Ill answer some of your questions since im sure hes busy.
1. How long does it take to get abs?
It all depends on how long you workout, what types of workout you do, and how much fat you have.
2. How do i get a 4,6,8 pack?
This is all depending on your genetics. Someone can have a 4 pack and their abs can be as strong as someone with an 8 pack
3. What to eat?
No fast food, fried food, cakes icecream etc. Just eat veggies, fruit, lean protein, and watch your carbs

Just to note, I train really hard.

WTF!!! 2:24 he puts a nutritional fact dont really know why but i have a sharp eye....good job i only needed nutrition plans
fallenangel328 3 years ago
An advice : You can go to a spice (or herb) shop and get some NATURAL spices like cardamom pepper muscat or curry... adding some spice to your food might take 20 seconds but spice makes your food not SO plain and tasteless.
Though all that food looks very tasty WITHOUT spice to me :D
( A pinch of spice wont add 100 calories to your meal. Or will it? )
And a question!
should i train if my muscles ache? (i mean i did squeezers untill i couldnt do more (2 days ago) and my muscles still hurt.

b3nzy123 3 years ago

Hi Buddy :D
Erm, is it true that pushups do not help your biceps and triceps at all? Because my Dad said that it only helps your pecks. He might be right, but he is proberbly wrong haha, so ill ask an expert like you :)
Is he right or horribly wrong? :D
Moderm101 3 years ago
They help your triceps more than your biceps. For me, it exercises my triceps more then my biceps and pecs.

me too i love wine and beer ,and have been training for 1 year im looking good but cant get the small amount of fat around my belly and chest. its the wine and beer i gues....good luck all!!
valerioviccei 3 years ago
Hey,
Dont completely cut yourself off. A half glass of red wine with dinner isnt that many calories and can have health benefits for some. Cant think of any benefit of beer though :(
scooby1961 3 years ago
how about beer? Can I still drink beer?
sillypeachy33 3 years ago
A small amount of red wine if fine if your doctor recommends it for you but beer is just empty calories, save that for your bad food day.
scooby1961 3 years ago
yes i'm so glad i'm super awesome at cooking!!
draggloon 3 years ago
scooby, something you might think about investing is a fuzzy logic rice cooker. Most of these type of cookers can make pasta, noodles, stew etc etc, best $250 I have spent in the kitchen.
nutricycle 3 years ago
Nutricycle, thats a good tip. But being Indian I know eating rice a whole lot makes fat accumulate near the belly section. But for occasional hearty meals rice cooker is the way to go. I will try cooking rice with some veggies next time.
By the way the Rice cooker I have goes in to a Microwave .. its more of a container and is super easy to clean - takes about 13mins to cook. I bought it from Walmart for 15 bucks.
greenleaf81 3 years ago
use brown rice (unprocessed) or even wild rice and it wont fatten you up. white rice just like white bread is processed garbage that is just simple carbs.
I wish you hadnt mentioned Indian, now i feel like a tika masala with naan and a plate of pakoura.
drool......
nutricycle 3 years ago
haha I am surprised you know what pakoura is! ah miss that among many others.
I am gonna check out Brown rice next time in the grocery store.

i can't believe i'm doing this, i stop drinking and eating unhealthy fat food and started jogging then eating peas, corn, and carrots. THIS IS TORTURE!!! i don't know how long i can last!
youtoo4969 3 years ago 2

Soon you'll find that you crave those meals.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
i can use those books, i need to find more recipes, i went to go buy vegetable mix and replace the salmon for mackerel. thx ill go check out some things

great vid! btw i have a problem which is i have a small body but huge legs and thighs! i do quite a lot of cardio which has tremendously reduced the fat in my upper body but doesn't seem to be doing anything for my legs. is there a way i can fix this? thanks in advanced!
JustinTergolek 3 years ago
Sorry, you cant target the fat deposits in your legs. All you can do is to continue to lose weight and eventually the leg fat will come off too.

g'day scooby ive been doen one and a half hour intense weight training sesions at the gym cutting out most carbs and eating a high protein diet, is that enough cardio for the day if u clasify it as cardio? this is to obtain a body like urself, cheers
maverick4442 3 years ago
be careful of too much meat protein, it raises your puric acid levels and can lead to gout.
nutricycle 3 years ago
I wish I knew of studies that prove how much protein is too much - anybody know of any? In this video I promote a moderate amount compared to what many BBers use.

Nope, check the label. Lots of sugar. Only shredded wheat or oatmeal will work as far as I know.
scooby1961 3 years ago
keep something in your backpack, thats what i did back in highschool. check with your teacher if its ok to snack in class or just do it in between classes. breakfast, break, lunch time, after school, dinner, small snack before bed or while studying. 6 meals :D

Hey Scooby I am allergic to milk. Is soy milk ok?
fasha223 3 years ago
Certainly dont have milk if you are alergic, you can substitute soy milk. For the dairy whey I recommend, you can use either egg protein powder or soy protein powder.
scooby1961 3 years ago
i play soccer do u think that is enough cardio and is it bad to eat after 9 pm
Imphat22 3 years ago
If you play soccer every day for at least 30min then its enough cardio.
scooby1961 3 years ago
the after 9 thing is a myth. the real truth is you shouldnt eat an hour before you go to bed. if you eat before bed, when you sleep, your metabolism goes down and the food just creates fat.
Ashleyshanahan 3 years ago
The last 2hrs before I go to bed, the only thing I usually have is a glass of protein water - 25g protein, 100 calories.
scooby1961 3 years ago
What is your take on nutrition bars? Just how nutritious are they?
HellMuT1 3 years ago
All the meal replacement bars I have seen have either tons of sugar, fat or both. If anyone knows of a nonfat, no sugar bar I'd love to know what it is.

Hey and does the balsamic vinegar have to have sugar and salt. Becuz the one i got has some. and i was wondering about the lemon oil, does it have sugar?
TheKingofKH 3 years ago
OK, I was called on this one. Yes, balsamic vinegar does have calories. The reason I called it "zero calorie" is that the stuff is so runny (its waterlike) that I dont think you could ever get more than 5calories worth of the stuff to stick to the veggies.
scooby1961 3 years ago
So having sugar and salt is alright? what about the lemon oil?
TheKingofKH 3 years ago
Thanks Scooby for the advice. Using a frozen banana instead of a normal one for your protein shakes is MONEY. The shake is thicker and probably causes your body to digest more of the whey.
Also I have a nutritious meal that's pretty easy to make. Chicken stir fry with bean sprouts instead of noodles/rice. Use stiry fry seasoning + soy sauce for flavoring and voila. High protein, high fiber, low sugar.
Ps: Not to be rude or anything, but I was wondering your sexual orientation?

Is A1 Steak sauce a good choice?
Back when I didn't diet, I used it when I ran out of ketchup. The sauce tastes great on anything and makes it like you were eating steaks.
So is it ok?

Check the label, its not ideal. It has quite a bit of sugar, like catchup does.
