They didn't have a warrant, because they asked permission to search her house. That's called a permissive search based on probable cause, and she has the right to refuse. The officers carry tasers and pepper spray, enough less than leathal equipment to subdue a K-9. But if you say no, they first need probable cause then obtain a warrant. And you are more likely to win a small claims case against them for damage to your property during the search. Also, in the past year there have been a lot of major drug busts. About 3-5. To us in anderson that's a lot. And it just so happens that over the past year we have had a lot of state police coming through anderson as well. My guess is that the state boys are the reason these busts happened. I won't lie, anderson has its problems but it's much better than bigger cities like indianapolis. Hell, indy is freakin terrible!

Breaking windows is not 'destroying a home'. Looks to me that the house was already in disrepair, so the holes in the windows helped air the place out.
Assist the police in their lawful search, and there won't be a problem. Refuse to chain/confine your dog and make a scene while the fugitive gets time to get away, and this is what you will get.

But if you say no, they first need probable cause then obtain a warrant. And you are more likely to win a small claims case against them for damage to your property during the search. Always get information on EVERY cop who participated in the search or was present. Also depending on the state, you can ask for business cards.

Also, in the past year there have been a lot of major drug busts. About 3-5. To us in anderson that's a lot. And it just so happens that over the past year we have had a lot of state police coming through anderson as well. My guess is that the state boys are the reason these busts happened. I won't lie, anderson has its problems but it's much better than bigger cities like indianapolis. Hell, indy is freakin terrible!

There was a case where a woman called 911 for her dad who was suffering a stroke, The cop that answered her call was rude and obnoxious to her and hung up on her. She goes down to the police station to get help because she never got no satisfaction from 911. The police officer that was in the office was the same guy who answered her 911 call. But initally hanging up on the woman was acceptable the way she was verbally abusing him. He's comments where out of line but he did send help. I guarentee she used the same attitude in the police department. Both parties are at fault here.

Breaking windows is not 'destroying a home'. Looks to me that the house was already in disrepair, so the holes in the windows helped air the place out.
Assist the police in their lawful search, and there won't be a problem. Refuse to chain/confine your dog and make a scene while the fugitive gets time to get away, and this is what you will get.

I do not trust the police. I can see no positive outcome from interaction with a police officer unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. I don't talk to, look at, call or otherwise deal with the police.
