I no longer have the other blue and gold macaw you have seen in the other videos and the green wing macaw you say in the video with the other blue and gold, those were my friends macaws that I bird sat for a couple of days. The one named Honker was a rescue and I could not keep him. The only pet birds I have is Jacob and 3 Cockatiels but due to him being sick, I am pretty sure I will re home my last Cockatiel Wilson as he is only 2 years old. I will be giving him to good friends.
You see I have a bird room that is 100% sealed from the rest of my home but the vet would still want me to re home all my Cockatiels or put in an exaust fan to the outdoors in there room. I will probably put the fan in there room on top of the blue air purifier. I have othere little birds as I breed a few as I own a bird store. 2 pairs of green cheek conures, one pair of bourkes and one pair of linnies. I am re homing my fischer's love birds and Turquoisines. Tough decisions to do.
Yes these large Parrots can ruin a home in no time but I am really lucky that Jacob does not like to go on the floor at all. He is out of his cage all day long free to go in and out of the cage and he rarely goes on the floor and if he does, he does go on the railing but screams for me as he wants to go back to his cage lol. I do have a few little chips on the railing but noting major. Yes I sure love all my birdies.
i'm sure you love them all. btw, i looked at another of your videos where you have a spindle staircase and marvel at how it looks in tact. my 2 greenwings have eaten up 2 kitchens and a wooden stair rail among other things. and yes, they do have lots of toys but all i have to do is turn my back for a moment and something is ruined.
Yes me too. I do have 3 Cockatiels in another room but it is sealed to the rest of the home. I am now probably going to invest into a ventilation system that pushes the bird room air outside so there is nothing going into the home when I open the door to there room. He has been fine for 4 years so don't know why it has come back. So hard to deal with all this as my Cockatiels are loved the same as Jacob. Will figure something out.
Jacob has hypersensitivity syndrome but had been fine for 4 years and this spring, he got sick again but it was not the same thing. This time it's more of an upper respitory infection and we don't quite know the cause but working on finding what causes him to get sick. Jacob did like the PVC toy and any acrylic toys he like and those pipe indestructable bells are great too.
i'd love to know if he has aspergillosis or macaw hypersensitivity syndrome (from exposure to cockatoos, etc). i've had to nebulize my greenwing for asper years ago. also in another of your videos i noticed a toy that i wondered if he played with. it is a pvc tube with holes for treats. thanks for the info if you see this and respond.
