I think you should go back in! Playing with girls and doing ballet doesn't mean someone is gay or even make them gay - it is a choice people make at a slightly later age. This is from going through puberty and being around other males.  It is an active choice people make. No one is born straight or gay, it is their own choice.

Some like a bit of both, that is also a choice. Forcing people to come out is not acceptable. It sounds to me like you were attention seeking or wanting to shock!

I knew I was gay at 11. I never talked about girls like other boys seemed to. So everyone assumed I was gay and made my life unbearable. I couldn't tell anyone about it because I was afraid. At 19 I told my friends and they were okay with it and supported me. My coming out was liberating in a way because I could be myself for once. A few years have passed and I couldn't be happier and I can honestly say I like being gay

Lenny, my story was quite much like yours. I told my best friend 1st and then my Mom later. She outed me to my Dad, but it all went very well and I felt so much better. Nobody else in school had a problem with it and my whole family is behind me no matter what. It's great to have support, but comming out is a never endin process. I've still never had any problems though.

Just how important is COMMING OUT? I was of the impression that your generation is far more LIBERAL and open minded about these issues- especially in Europe. Was I wrong? I think its actually really important. we are supposed to be more liberal but high school can still be incredibly cruel. Its important for a child not to have to lie to their parents all the time and it is better for the parents to find out from someone who can actually explain things. What is hard to convey is the liberation you feel even if your lifestyle doesn't change at all.
