  • man i did this at school now i really like it !

  • @Junaamhier I think about playing squash;-)But at the moment I am playing tennis, which is way slower than Squash, i think

  • @Skandarkeyneshot completely different swing in squash, u may find it hard at first..

  • @Skandarkeyneshot definetly. Smaller ball, lighter racquets, smaller space to occupy. But a lot more shuffling and running back and forth.

  • This game is so anti-climactic.

  • @FA9082

Yeah, unlike Tennis, lol. I dont understand why the audience laughs most of the time while they watch a game?

  • looks like a lot more fun than raquetball

  • Two awesome British players...and a great rally!

  • meehso are there actually some nice guys who wanna chat with mi

  • Sqaush is about anticipation, try to read your opponents next move

  • I've never played squash, but it seems like the rallies last much longer than in racquetball. Is it really hard to kill the ball?

  • If anything it's easier to kill the ball in squash. These guys just hit the ball hard so it's warmer and bouncier and they have incredible movement around the court.

  • @Liface

i dont know much about either but obviously this had some crazy saves so this seemed longer but from what i know squash is more trying to power it past while raquetball is more persision/spin

  • Let me put it simple. Many things have the light side made in the USA. Examples; Rugby-America Foot Ball; Beer like german beer-Lite Beer; Coffee (the real thing)-American (almost tea); Squash-Raquetball. According to Forbes Magazine, squash is the healthiest sport. The article is still available on the internet. Try both at a certain level and your body will tell you why not everyone can play squash (it is also the most demoralizing sport)

  • incredible

  • You need to add Cricket-Baseball.

  • size of the court, racquet, the ball bounces more in raquetball, and a few subtle rules

  • Hello,

wow, they played extremely good ;)

I have been playing in sqosz two years and we look for a good action ;)))

    I love this Game ;)))

    C"Ya ;))

  • You sould have seen these two in Swedish Case Open in Linkoping, last year i think it was. Easily the best squash match I have ever seen in my life. Even though Matthew only was number 9 seed, he could easily have played an even match with Karim Darwish. Matthew even said after the match "yeah, well, doesn't get thougher than that". That was EPIC!

  • This is like a rotated racquetball game. Very interesting how fast the ball dies after coming off that wall though, as it can only be maybe 15 feet max from the back wall. It's at least half the distance of a racquetball court. Looks like fun still.

  • couldnt even see who won that point, the final boast shot was down??

  • nah lol it was nick matthew's point

  • I cant believe how easy they make it look. Ive only been playing a few months, but it seems like im running all over the court, whereas these guys seem to be able to get it back from whereever. i cant understand it

  • well, they are professionals.

apart from the obvious reasons like experience and fitness...their ease of movement comes from near perfect footwork. by recovering to the 'T' after every shot and staying balanced and relaxed at all times, they ensure that they are never 2-3 steps from any corner. you can practice this by doing "ghosting"- moving to the corners without actually hitting a ball. it will come with time, hope this helps

  • Only pros make it look that easy, and make it look like you can not win as they get most balls back in play.

  • They make that court look small!

  • If u don't like it then y u watching bitch?

  • why this dosnt make sense? your being stupid if you dont know how to play and talk shit like that. grow up.

  • Why doesn't it make sense? And which sports do make sense?

  • id rather be weird than a twat

  • Squash is under estimated. Its badass!

  • fast game lol

  • Squash is a killer if ur playing with a good player they will make u run for every ball its allot harder than it seems.

  • i would rather eat my own cock, as oppose to playing 1 of these guys, there fucking insane!

  • Squash seems fun! It seems like there is a lot less running and diving than racquetball though. I mean, it seems like I would be able to get most balls because the court is much smaller and rackets longer?

  • You'd actually be very suprised Squash would have an equal or even higher intensity to Racquet ball as the ball is nowhere near as bouncy. Longer racquet heads generally don't count for much as well because the game requires a different technique/style of play.

  • believe me

    SQUASH IS EXAUSTING

first time i played it i was so exausted i wasn't able to stand problery in 3 days

  • What??? I have played both and Racquetball is -nothing- when compared to the exhausting fitness you need in Squash. The ball in Racquetball bounces like a yoyo. In Squash the ball dies quicker and you have to get to it -FAST-

  • Yeah i mean, i guess it is more tiring b/c of longer rallys and such. But this seems more like just sidestepping as opposed to full on running and diving in racquetball

  • Hi lalaborat,

I can see why you may think that because these extremely good pros are making it look easy. They would make reaching the ball in Racquetball look like chump change. Why that is is because of extremely good footwork and relaxation. Tightening up and having bad footwork makes you look like you are running after the ball. At that point you start to loose control of the center (T) and you are done, Squash or Racquetball

  • yup.... just started playing with a buddy of mine lol.... omfg.... death by lactic acid buildups in your leg XD

  • what was the score in this match??

  • Actually this game is one of the few sports that are actually funnier to play rather than watch.

  • @MacGovernor Its way more funnier seeing it live

  • he who controls the key controls the game

  • i mean T- who controls the T

  • i played squash for the first time yesterday with another beginner, and there was one rule that we weren't too sure on. after you've hit the ball, can it hit the side wall before hitting the back wall? would be great if someone could tell me the answer. thanks. great sport by the way. loved playing it. great fun.

  • yes, it's called a boast. just don't hit the floor first!

  • cheers mate.

  • yes. definitely. use the side walls to your advantage

  • he said after you hit the ball. definitely

  • I'm an excellent driver. Definitely.

And no. It's not called a boast it's called a poor shot if it hits the sidewall after hitting the front wall. And yes. It IS allowed.

  • how is it a poor shot!? wat about a tight rail or a nick!

  • tight rails and nicks are not such good shot, boast are the best shots to hit

  • omg tight rails are extremly usefull unless ur a noo

  • Just no.

  • dude i am so much better than you I know what i am talking about. Boast are the best shots to hit.

  • Keep telling yourself that mate. Give me some evidence of yourself playing. I'm 14 years old and I know that. Ask any professional coach and they'd call you an idiot for saying that.

  • I would smack on you in squash. You would get no more than a point off of me..

  • wanna bet for that

  • It should hug the wall to be the perfect shot, but of course it can touch the side wall. A dead nick is also awesome though ; )

  • when playing a giraffe, thou shalt not lob

  • cool rally definitely

  • kid, you may hit hard, but without accuracy and speed, you're down. Plus, you're not the only one who can hit like that. I could hit the ball like that since I was 12.

  • haahah

  • how tall are these guys?

  • Willstrop in all blue is 6'5" (196cm)

  • Wow, I thought I was decent, I'm pathetic compared to this .

  • this is high teck squash,

but did you know federer and nadal ar both good squash players!!

  • they make it look so easy

  • I don't get it... can't they just stand in the way of their opponents?

  • no they can't do that, its called a let, and it would give the other player the point

  • are you just trying to be a smart ass, or was that a serious question?

  • theres no such thing as a serious question in squash

  • tennis is gay squash owns it

  • Tennis is better!!!!

  • NO WAY... TENNIS IS WAY TO SLOW

  • Just because you don't know how to play it don't say it sucks.

Remember my friend "The beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

  • hah nice quote

  • I'm gonna stick my oar in and say table tennis then... Fastest racket sport by far (apparently the second fastest sport in the world next to ice-hockey for reactions).

But nice rally here... Squash is good fun.

  • u cnt even spell it

  • ah so this is squash...cool

  • thats actually three words

  • well it's a bad one

  • nigga, tend to your crops and never bring racism into the equation.

  • And where did I use racism? It seems like you're the one using racism by calling me a "nigga" when I am in fact not a "nigga"

  • first its 3 words, and squash is really interesting its probably that you just suck

  • no good. quality of the movie is that bad it looks like they are hitting fresh air (can't see the ball) 4 1/2 stars - (was gonna put a swear word but the comment will get removed)

  • its incredible what they can volley (a la 0:44). that ball is tight on the wall, a good length and powerful and he volleys it effortlessly!

  • James Willstrop is an amazing playing i got the chance to see him in huddersfield hes a insperation to watch :D

  • you could say there are teams in squash, often played between clubs, but with world events like this you play against all

  • i love the squash

  • are there teams in this game ? ôo

  • yes there are type in psl any you wil find out about pro teams

  • Do you have any idea how to play squash?

  • burster14 = NEWB

  • At squash only though :)

  • monkeys in da jungle. all monkeys come from da jungle.

  • tooo bad .... we would have to watch such mockeys to jump around the squash court.... there can never be another Jahangir Khan or Jansher Khan.

  • I really like this match, can you tell me where can I find it in avi format. I have the others ones, but not this. Thanks very much!!!

  • Squash is fun! You can improve a lot in a short time, get some condition and make friends.

  • breaking the racquet is the spirit of the game. gives you some aggre to the next ball :p

  • i got this dunlop aeorgel racquet for my birthday, the red one - tour i think it is, anyways ive never been able to play the same with any other racquet and im terrified i break it cos theyr wayy beyond my budget as a student to just go out and replace. ive smashed heaps of racquets aswell, pretty much unavoidable.

  • I just broke my red aerogel and replaced it with a Head Microgel. I only had my red aerogel for 5 months :(.

  • tragedy! man i feel for u there. whats the head racquet like? any decent?

  • Yeah the Head is great. Luckily Dunlop are replacing my Aerogel so it's all good. But to be honest, if i was giving advice i would save money and get the microgel instead.

  • the guy who owns my local racquet store price matched my aerogel to £80 - which i think was a pretty good price. I just loked and the head is on just-rackets for £90 so pretty similar. if im unfortunate enough to break my dunlop ill definitely have a look at a microgel!

  • i agree, i'm not a fan of squash i much prefer badminton

the walls piss me off =( only played once and pretty much nearly broke the racquet

  • keep playing dude... its such a great sport (:

  • I think squash owns. i have never played proffesionally but sometimes me and a couple of friends go to the local squash center and play. Its fun as hell.

  • y watch a video on it thn lmao donkey

  • i thought it was first to 9?

  • Men's professional to 11, score every point (i.e. you score regardless whether you're the server or not) and a mandatory 2-point lead to win the game. Women's professional is to 9, server scores - just like normal club play.

  • oh right sry lol get into it its a good sport

  • hi, well am starting to play at my local club, so will see what happens appraently ive got the eye for it

  • good for u dude

  • Wie vet langzaam spele die aug waat un prutsers

  • its an amazing game...needs a lot of stamina!!..evybody cnt play dis sport

  • can see willstrop tries to expose matthews backhand and play very straight to stop him volleying around the T.

  • well its no football

    but kinda cool i gusse

  • it is fun to plan but not fun to watch for some reason

  • like baseball

  • I'd have to disagree

  • I played squash at school, our team won the finals after a very close match only 11 points difference. i also got mvp and i only lost 1 game in that season

  • sure u did

  • is that a hard ball?

and yeah i get to play at school too

    its awesome

  • No, it's not a hard ball. It's the slowest ball you can get. It becomes fast only because they hit it regularly with great speed. What happens is that the ball becomes hot after a short while, so it's faster. With two beginner or intermediate players, that same ball would be slow as hell.

  • does a slow ball also means that he doesn't jump much on the ground ?

  • Indeed, a slow ball doesn't bounce much on the ground compared to a hard ball. But advanced players hit the ball in such a way that the difference with a hard ball isn't as big.

  • It looks so easy and relaxed when they play it.. In fact, squash uses up more calories than pretty much any other kind of sport

  • You get to play squash in school? Wicked! I love it.

  • thats surprising because?...

  • It is very rare that squash becomes part of the P.E curriculum in schools.

  • schools don't work on the curriculum in PE as they do with other subjects. In our school we can do whatever the hell we want as long as the school has the facilities.

  • Squash doesn't make PE curriculum because they can't get many students into one court. Its a tough tough game that requires a lot of conditioning and is not for everyone. In the US many schools do not have access to good if any Squash coaches

  • I completely agree that squash isn't for everyone. The conditioning aspect is very brutal. Tennis appeals to the masses more than squash, and women in particular. Women enjoy the social aspect of tennis that squash just does not offer. In my hometown of Louisville, KY USA, the game is played primarily by wealthy, preppy adult males. There is almost no youth programs. For squash to grow in the US, outdoor squash courts should be made available in the public parks.

  • I don't understand why squash isn't more popular in the UK. I can't get enough of it. It's great for fitness and hand/eye coordination. There's a huge range of shots you can use and it's not all about wellying the ball like these guys do. Great sport.

  • Tennis is better than squash from a spectator standpoint. Tennis is probably the best since you can do commercials after every changeover.

I have never watched squash on TV. How and when do they show commercials?

  • For a spectator it is very difficult to see the ball but surely they could do something about that. I sometimes watch a game from PSA Live squash. Can't remember seeing any adverts. I didn't miss them.

  • If you are watching squash on TV, how did offer the viewing to you without commercials.

  • There are no adverts on BBC broadcasts but this particular game was a download from the PSA Live website. I wouldn't watch TV with adverts.

  • How does the BBC make money without adverts. In the US, we have PBS which generates revenue thru gov't endowment and donations from the public. PBS used to be great (no adverts), but is becoming obsolete. We have Discovery, Animal Planet and History Channel that provide better shows, but with adverts.

  • The BBC is paid for by subscription, if you have a TV you have to pay a yearly subscription. IMO it has far and away the best content and no ads! Have you seen the iPlayer? I don't know if you can watch from the US but take a look at the website.

  • I am sure it is possible to get the BBC from one of the full cable packages that are offered in the US. Many of the great shows that are shown on History Channel are in conjunction with the BBC. Every time PBS raises money during their telethon, they show Celtic Woman The show really gets on my nerves.

  • While I would call PBS obsolete, I do not think that Discovery, Animal Planet, et al are of significantly higher quality. What about the NOVA documentary specials? That stuff's quality television...

  • why can't sports be more crowd thrilling? when i play squash in school everyone watches cheers a certain player, makes it more entertaining

  • oh by the way, it looks like the ball is travelling that fast, but seriously, if u were in there with them, u cant see the ball...no joke

  • uncbrett you are the biggest idiot ever, james willstrop was world nu,ber 2 in 2005 and now is still seventh in the world and matthews is also in the top ten so don't spout crap about their rechnique you low life

  • whats the wall done to deserve this

  • i wish i could play like that

  • good rally

  • go to hell

  • uncbrett, do u know what's squash at all?

  • uncbrett these are world class players, u know nothing compared to them

  • Both these players have been within the world's top 5. don't post rubbish like that.

  • dude u dnt know shit about squash, if ur posting that

  • wow you're a retard bro

  • great rally! exellent technique.

  • thanks please keep posting!

  • not a bad rally
