  • I'M SO GLAD THAT MAN CAN NOT PUT GOD IN A BOX OR CONTROL HIS PURPOSES, PLANS, AGENDAS. WHO GOD ANOINTS, CALLS, APPOINTS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GENDER (IT NEVER HAS, I DARE YOU TO EAT THE WHOLE ROLL OF THE WORD AND NOT JUST TWO OR THREE VERSES) IT'S ABOUT GOD---THE HARVEST. WHAT SHOULD CONCERN YOU IS SOULS THAT ARE BEING SAVED,MATURED, AND SET FREE! ON MANY OF YOUR CONCERNS YOU NEED TO BE DISCERNING AS ACTS 5:39...IF IT BE OF GOD, YOU CAN NOT OVERTHROW IT! LEST YE BE FOUND TO FIGHT AGAINST GOD.

  • Great Job Bishop McKenzie!I Watched all of the videos linked to this one and the anointing is all around you! Forever in my prayers!

  • how about don' t let your SINS

    get in the way?

as it is the focus in Lamentations 3 for example

    greetings

    Mike

  • thank you ronptech for this blessing thank you so much......

  • why did he say "our bishop?"

  • As this debate continues, no one ever mentions how Jesus first gave the Good News of His resurrection to women to be delivered to His disciples. And today He continues to call and anoint women to delivering that Good News all around the globe; secretly in some areas.

  • Continue in the ministry sister. Let God use you. And don't worry about what the enemy is speaking to those that just don't understand. Don't waste time on explaining the calling on your life. Take that precious time and minister to God's people. And for those that are worried about who God has or has not called, dont waste your time, cause from one sis. to another, I plan on walking in my calling unto He calls me home.

    The Minister

  • woman Bishops next will be woman husbands

  • stop fighting one another. Combat the powers that are. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but principalities rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Women can preach. Think about Marry was the first one to carry the living word (Jesus) in her womb. God chose her and not Joseph. Just think about it.

    -Minister Terrell Gunn

  • With all due respect that is a ridiculous argument. Of course Mary would have carried Jesus in her womb, she is a woman. It's obvious that Joseph couldn't do it with him being a man. Another thing Joseph was chosen by God.

  • I'm so glad that my Bishop does not feel the need to defend her call. She just works in it. The bottom line is that you can give scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, and it won't matter if you have made up in your mind that women should not preach. The second bottom line...we are women called by God and Jesus gave the first message to a women (btw where were the men?!!!) when he rose from the grave, so therefore like it or not WE women preachers are here to stay and preach the word of God!!

  • BTW (2) - Likewise and more importantly you haven't shown scripture where women have been expressly prohibited from preaching the Gospel other than cultural discussions in the Bible about public vs. private discourse.

  • Interesting! For someone whose faith or worldview is not threatened you appear extremely angry. I suppose you have the inside track on strict interpretation and twist? Your assertion regarding the designed direction of influence helps explain the Middle East conflict.

I suggest you research the backstories of 1-2 Timothy and Titus and the inherent contradiction regarding women, since Paul's beliefs insist that in Christ there is no male or female (Galatians 3:28).

  • I'm not even going to comment on the Middle East remark. That's just a side step of the issue. Galatians 3 is dealing with FAITH. When he talks about there is no male or female, jew or greek, bond or free. He is saying their is only 1 Faith not different faiths for different people. If there is no male or female, go ask a man to have a baby. You know that doesn't mean that. I knew you would bring that verse up. That shows your lack of understanding of the word.

  • The Middle East reference hits my point exactly. You asserted a church design with no certification or context. Your comments are consistent with the all or nothing view of extreme positions that never work in reality.

I find it interesting that you strictly interpret only when it suits you. You counter your own logic; it says what it says! My point is there is not one verse in the scriptures prohibiting women from preaching the Gospel, instead there are many that encourage it. Q.E.D.

  • Like I stated before, you have no understanding of the Word. I haven't once twisted or interpreted any scripture to suit me. You have yet to show me where God commisioned women to hold these positions in the church. If you want to call following the bible extreme, go ahead. And please tell me how have I asserted a church design with no certification or context. I have given you nothing but Bible which you are fighting against.

  • You're entitled to your opinion and I take it as just that. You are the one who points to a literal interpretation of man and husband in one instance and then distances yourself with the "man have a baby" inference in another. BTW - the Bible is not self explanatory else so many divergent views wouldn't have evolved. Regarding church design, re-read your previous comments, which you tend to repeat ad-nauseum and without certification; because you said so, does not make it so.

  • How is it that your faith is so threatened by gay men or women in the pulpit?

  • My faith is not in any way, shape or form threatened by gay men or women in the pulpit. The bottom line is it's out of order. The church now does anything. The church lets society influence it, rather than the other way around. It was never designed to be that way, even though the book said it would be that way. 2 Timothy 4 speaks of it. So we can't take the word and put our own twist to suit us. No women bishops in the bible whatsoever.

  • Woman bishop..out of order and contrary to the qualifications.

  • Hmmm... and you are who to stand in such judgement?

  • Hmmm..I believe the BIBLE will be the judge of who is right. Let's see 1 Timothy 3: 1-2 says and I quote "This is a true saying, if a MAN desire the office of a BISHOP, HE desireth a good work". Hmmm..is she a man? I don't think so. Lets read a little more. Verse 2, "A BISHOP then must be blameless, the HUSBAND of one WIFE, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach, etc. Wow that disqualified her right there. So I am no one to judge, BUT the BIBLE just did.

  • No that wasn't the Bible, it was your interpretation of the Bible! I'd probably wouldn't be suprised by your interpretation of the first sentence of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence either.

  • It's obvious that you haven't read your bible. I haven't interpreted anything. I gave you scripture straight from the bible. Now if the bible says you must be a MAN, and a HUSBAND, that is pretty self explanitory that a woman can't be those things. So once again go get your bible and read 1 Timothy 3. If you have a problem with what it says, take it up with God.

  • I suggest that you try and understand Paul's Epistle to the Romans when it comes to literal biblical interpretation. It may help make your life less stressful.

  • Also there's not even scripture to support a woman preaching. Now show where a woman preached in the bible.

  • Acts 18, Acts 21 and Romans 16 for a start. While you're at it don't forget to read about Deborah, Miram, Huldah and others.

  • Let me address the first thing. It doesn't get any literal than what is written. There is no room for interpretation for it. Man & Husband is self explanitory. 2, theses ladies never preached to anyone, please show me in the bible where they were ever preaching. How can you read the words in the Holy Bible and then say it don't mean what it actually says. You seem like an intelligent person, I don't see how you get another interpretation from it.

  • This is how strict interpretation of language transmitted through human hands, mouths and time create issues the church continues to suffer from today. Questions regarding women in the pulpit have unfortunately created opportunities for men, particularly those with inferiority complexes to sow seeds of war and destruction. They are so steeped in their inability to read context they miss important dynamics around for example Jesus encounter with the Samaritan woman in John and Pricilla in Acts.

  • "Strict Interpretation", how else is the word supposed to be interpreted? That's why the church is in the mess it's in now. Everybody is going away from what it says, saying that it really doesn't mean what it says. That's why sinners are so comfortable in church now. Gay men feel so comfortable directing choirs and being praise leaders. The church as a whole has gotten so far away from the bible to justify their own desires and greed it's sickening. This is just one example.

  • Bishop Vashti is such a gifted preacher

  • come on, teach, Bishop! AME's getting back on the map.

  • She's truly a woman of God. We need more women like her. I enjoy listening to her sermons.

  • The AME Church needs more preachers (and people in general) like Bishop Vashti!

  • wow, u have never lied... speaking as an amer lol

  • I love Bishop Vashti!
