That is why I play bass. Nothing to drop, no strings to break (unless you pull it like a bow and arrow), and not as tiring. But, it will do a number on your back if you have a Peavey T-40.

Fantastic job despite the stick drops. My son dropped a stick in the first competition he ever played in at 6 years old and won the Youth Division and the was the overall winner. He just never stopped playing while he reached for the stick that fell. He didn't look frazzled or anything. Seemed natural.  It's moreso about how you handle the error. The crowd wants to support you, especially at drum contests. KEEP IT UP! YOU WERE AMAZING!!!

a little tip sand the clear coating off your sticks,, a lot of your metal drummers sand thier sticks for better grip,,because thay play so fast,, now go get some pearl demons and work on dbass foot speed and you are there and play with a band as much as you can,,do not stay in a box,, playing out live will bring you a long way and will pump you up for 2011 drum off,,and change your beat up alot more

I worked at a guitar center as the drum dept manager and actually ran our first year drum off. I must say your solo was better that 95% of the ones we had at our store! Keep playing though. Its hard to hold on to sticks when your doing crossover rolls like that anyway. Unless your Buddy Rich.

arent u left handed? because in in the pratice video u did the drum set was flipped in the left hand position. And that was still amazing even if u dropped the stick twice. i drop the sticks like 4 times in one song. but good luck next time

Very good drum solo Jessie despite dropping the drumsticks. But was it enough to go to the regional drumoff in Boston? Overall Jessie, I liked the drumming techniques you have especially the drum pedals in action which I loved so much. You got great talent on the drums. I just began playing the drums in June.
