I saw this in November last year, thought "hmm" put it on my to-read list, then after Christmas I was shopping and noticed Sisters Red, the only copy there was slightly creased, I shrugged thinking "what the heck" and bought it (I got 10% off cause of the crease) within two days I had finished it and was in love with it! Well worth the $19 dollars (well actually I had a voucher)! I've read Sweetly now and love it even more than Sisters Red! This youtube book release video was a great idea!
Hey, Jackson. =) I was just wondering, could you possibly do a video explaining the entire process it takes to get your book out AFTER you finished it. Ex: the publishing, the editing, literary agents, copywriting, advertising...you know, the works. I just want to know the entire process and what's the best way to go about it. Pretty, pretty, pleaseeeee and thank you. ^_^
As a British girl I can tell you we do not all eat spotted dick (hehehe), I cannot get over the name either, although i've been told it's nice I just can't get over the name.
You poor Americans! No decent sweets/chocolate bars!
Okay Aero, Terry's chocolate orange --amazing . We british do love our biscuits, toffee crisp, chocolate digestives, choc fingers yumm. definitly try jammy dodgers!
I KNOW SOMETHING U CAN DO A VIDEO ABOUT :D YOU SHOULD DRESS UP IN A HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND SHOW A VIDEO ABOUT GIVING OUT CANDY :D and u know... maybe gettin an assistant or 2 to scare the living crap outta those kids >:D
Wow! You have a lot of guts to go to some random place with a megaphone and demand people listen. If I want to be a writer, I guess I need to learn how to do that to get recognition. Great video!
you don't have mars bars in the US??? weird... lol. but then, we don't have half of the candy u guys talk about lol. really happy to see after the UK release the uk kindle edition has also been released!! after I have read my university reading this week I shall be purchasing. i daren't buy it before or i will get distracted.
Yesterday, i went into WHSmith and Sisters Red and Sweetly were being sold together for just £10! ($6.43)
I was so shocked! I read Sisters Red last year (I think it was last year . . . or very early this year) and it was automatically my favourite book EVER!
Love ya Jackson, and I hope you continue to make books as great as you do now.
P.S I started reading Sweetly. Skittles? Really? My favourite sweet ever. XD
I saw the book on wednesday, and sister's red was also free with it! I brought it the counter and it turned out I didn't even have my money with me... quite embarrassing when you have a queue of about 20 behind you waiting...
A British section?! That's funny :) I picked up my copy of Sweetly on Wednesday. I was at my local Waterstones and even though I promised myself I was only going to browse I spotted a shiny new copy on the shelf and I couldn't resist. I loved Sisters Red!
Ah, Jackson, you so crazy. I'm surprised you didn't get more attention during this adventure. Nothing says "Pay attention to me 'cause I have life saving information and/or I'm trying to sell you something!" like a megaphone. People have nothing but respect for handheld voice amplification devices.
Woohoo! Congratulations! I'm so thrilled for you to be honest I love Milky way lol :)) and I like UK covers what you did today was really gutsy good job! XD
I'm a year behind but I just bought Sisters Red the other day at the store! I will snag Sweetly once I've read the first one! But yeah, I'm excited for you! :-) And you don't have to buy anything from me.
Jackson, do you live in a cave? You've NEVER eaten a Mars bar?! Oh my. You should come to Canada, we have plenty. I actually never knew it was from the UK. I thought they were sold everywhere. Even in dollar stores here!
@sonofstageandpage No I think Jackson might have just been living underground her whole life or something cause we have all that stuff here in Canada and we're right across the border. It doesn't even make sense. How's Bounty categorized as UK????? OMG... i'm still stunned. You Americans have been missing out deary.
i'll tell my brother, or parents to get it for my sister for christmas.... she likes your works... i already got her something and wont post it cos no doubt she'd see this comment.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
you don't have digestives in america??!! :O How can you live!!!! And I don't understand spotted dick either... But i thought mars bars were american too :/
I never knew Mars bars were English :D That's cool. I always assumed they originated from the US xD And you never had a Mars bar before? :O They're really popular here in Canada. And "Spotted Dick." I would not eat that :/ And like the tamale girl :)
Spotted Dick is a suet pudding with dried fruits, usually currants in. It sticks to your ribs, as my Nanna would say. I can't say it's my favourite, but I do like it. There are a few likely reasons for it to be called 'dick' but it doesn't exactly tantalise the taste buds.
I'm British and I still can't get over Spotted Dick... ;p And digestives! And you don't have Mars bars in America?! They're awesome :D Happy UK release day!
I had no idea mars bars were british haha!! Thought they were american! They have had them in every place I have ever lived in....yet I havent lived in america so I guess that was a false assumption! :P
I find it really odd how you don't know what some of those things are because things like mars bars are things I've been eating since before I was two :')
Mars bars rock! Chocolate fingers - yes, digestive bisuits - yes, aeros - yes, gooseberry jam - yes. All good treats over here in England. Spotted dick - no, no, no, no, noooooo!
It was invented as a medieval torture device by school dinner ladies, to inflict on poor little school children in the earlier part of the 20th century, and was usually covered in custard. Basically sponge pudding with things lurking in it. Not good, not good at all.
Yeah you need to eat those Cadbury's Fingers. Just one won't be enough. Eat one and then you'll just have to eat the whole pack. Try to stop. Just try.
This was so cool. I wonder if any other authors stand on the street and let everyone know that their book has come out in a different country? Probably not. You're the best, Jackson!

With you talking about the UK, I realized you remind me of Claire Richards, who was a member of the British pop-group Steps.
