  • My god Jackson! MELT THAT THING IN THE MICROWAVE THEY ARE HEAVEN.

  • I saw this in November last year, thought "hmm" put it on my to-read list, then after Christmas I was shopping and noticed Sisters Red, the only copy there was slightly creased, I shrugged thinking "what the heck" and bought it (I got 10% off cause of the crease) within two days I had finished it and was in love with it! Well worth the $19 dollars (well actually I had a voucher)! I've read Sweetly now and love it even more than Sisters Red! This youtube book release video was a great idea!

  • Lol this was so funny I never imagined the kinda foods I eat you wouldn't even know about or you would think they are weird haha love it xx

  • Hey, Jackson. =) I was just wondering, could you possibly do a video explaining the entire process it takes to get your book out AFTER you finished it. Ex: the publishing, the editing, literary agents, copywriting, advertising...you know, the works. I just want to know the entire process and what's the best way to go about it. Pretty, pretty, pleaseeeee and thank you. ^_^

  • When you went to the "Spotted Dicks" section I couldn't help myself that I was cracking up. XD

  • As a British girl I can tell you we do not all eat spotted dick (hehehe), I cannot get over the name either, although i've been told it's nice I just can't get over the name.

You poor Americans! No decent sweets/chocolate bars!

Okay Aero, Terry's chocolate orange --amazing . We british do love our biscuits, toffee crisp, chocolate digestives, choc fingers yumm. definitly try jammy dodgers!

Please do more Brit vids! :D

  • @8isobel8 They don't sell Terrys Chocolate Orange in america :'( (The problem is that they're absolutely amazing)

  • I saw Sweetly in the bookstore today and was very very excited. No money, so I couldn't buy it, but I still loved seeing it!

  • YOU NEVER HAD A MARS BAR????? *faints*

Okay, do me a favour—take one home and stick it on a plate and microwave it for a bit. Sooooooo yummy. And messy. But yummie.

And spotted dick *chuckles* is YUMMY too! :D

  • awwww there haven't been any videos in 10 days! Jackson where are you!!!!!!!! :(

  • @iagotheparrotrox I'm writing books.

  • @JacksonAPearce OOOOO! OK COOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @iagotheparrotrox Lol...you guys are making me want to try a Mars bar now. I'm in NJ, I've never had one before. Chocolate is my weakness. Lol

  • @JacksonAPearce An author;s work is never done. :)

  • I think it would be amazing if you made a video about Vamire books and how you feel ont he subject

    Peace and Love, ~ Brandon

  • I got my copy in the mail =) YAY

  • I got this book the day it came out in the UK!

  • Love sweetly, is Samuel related to Silas? I swear Silas's fathers is papa Reynolds(samuel's last name is reynolds) just wondering

  • I KNOW SOMETHING U CAN DO A VIDEO ABOUT :D YOU SHOULD DRESS UP IN A HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND SHOW A VIDEO ABOUT GIVING OUT CANDY :D and u know... maybe gettin an assistant or 2 to scare the living crap outta those kids >:D

  • 30 days of vlogging !!!!!!!

  • Omg im soooo happy i want this book

  • I went out and bought my copy straight away after I watched this the other day! Loved every page of it!! You are awesome :-)

  • Wow! You have a lot of guts to go to some random place with a megaphone and demand people listen. If I want to be a writer, I guess I need to learn how to do that to get recognition. Great video!

  • Please tell me your kidding.

You do not have Mars bars in the US?

I thought that they were American...

But you do have Bounty and Snickers and stuff, right?

    They're American, right?

Wow. I was so clueless about my own ignorance...

(So ignorant of my cluelessness? Oh, you know what I mean.)

  • Glad you liked the Mars Bar! It sucks that they don't have them in the US.

  • Lol. You called a Mars Bar a candy. This is great :)

  • I knew you'd love the mars bar! ;D

I saw your book in Waterstone's the other day... I was like "OMG I know her from Youtube!" to my friends xD Yep... they watch your vids now.

  • Haha Jackson I love you :)

  • you don't have mars bars in the US??? weird... lol. but then, we don't have half of the candy u guys talk about lol. really happy to see after the UK release the uk kindle edition has also been released!! after I have read my university reading this week I shall be purchasing. i daren't buy it before or i will get distracted.

  • I thought she was gonna spit it out and be like uggg but still nice video ;) -3

  • so glad she did a video esspicialy for the uk :'D

  • This is amazing. LOL

  • Two of my favourite things, books and food

  • Yesterday, i went into WHSmith and Sisters Red and Sweetly were being sold together for just £10! ($6.43)

I was so shocked! I read Sisters Red last year (I think it was last year . . . or very early this year) and it was automatically my favourite book EVER!

Love ya Jackson, and I hope you continue to make books as great as you do now.

P.S I started reading Sweetly. Skittles? Really? My favourite sweet ever. XD

  • October 6th is my birthday. ;) So hopefully the release was awesome!

  • I love those mini fingers. So tasty... omg and I love mars bars as well. Haven't had either in ages XD

  • I saw the book on wednesday, and sister's red was also free with it! I brought it the counter and it turned out I didn't even have my money with me... quite embarrassing when you have a queue of about 20 behind you waiting...

  • Digestives are delicious cookies, especially if you get the ones that have chocolate or caramel on them.

  • pick the Lion Bars. LOVED those things when I was in the UK. Those and Jaffa Cakes and Mars Bars

  • you crack me up! Too funny!

  • OH it's like a MILKY WAY. DANG, this is GOOD.

    Lol forever. XD

  • A British section?! That's funny :) I picked up my copy of Sweetly on Wednesday. I was at my local Waterstones and even though I promised myself I was only going to browse I spotted a shiny new copy on the shelf and I couldn't resist. I loved Sisters Red!

  • Comment removed

  • new zealand has all that !

  • Woohoo! Congratulations! I'm so thrilled for you to be honest I love Milky way lol :)) and I like UK covers what you did today was really gutsy good job! XD

  • I'm so glad that it's the British section of the store. Of all things.

  • I'm a year behind but I just bought Sisters Red the other day at the store! I will snag Sweetly once I've read the first one! But yeah, I'm excited for you! :-) And you don't have to buy anything from me.

  • Jackson, do you live in a cave? You've NEVER eaten a Mars bar?! Oh my. You should come to Canada, we have plenty. I actually never knew it was from the UK. I thought they were sold everywhere. Even in dollar stores here!

  • They renamed it Spotted Richard a couple years ago, but who would think to give it a name like that in the first place.

With you talking about the UK, I realized you remind me of Claire Richards, who was a member of the British pop-group Steps.

  • how did the rest of the "U.K. stuff" taste?

  • i want to hug her...

  • Well damn that's really good! LOL! HILARIOUS!

  • If you've NEVER HAD A MARS BAR! Oh you gotta be kidding me!

  • UGHH! I am so jealous of your grocery's British section. In Minnesota I'm lucky if they're stocked with anything, let alone a quarter or those sweets.

Ribena is stocked here, however. I would highly suggest Ribena.

  • You don't have Mars Bars or Aero or Bounty and all that other stuff in the states? BOY us Aussies and Brits must have the good stuff then.

  • @sonofstageandpage No I think Jackson might have just been living underground her whole life or something cause we have all that stuff here in Canada and we're right across the border. It doesn't even make sense. How's Bounty categorized as UK????? OMG... i'm still stunned. You Americans have been missing out deary.

  • @h0neybunn69 You're not right across the border from Georgia, though. And Americans have Milky Ways, which are pretty much the same as Mars Bars.

  • @Sousaphonish ahhh... okay, that makes sense.

  • @sonofstageandpage and canadians

  • @sonofstageandpage I'm rather perplexed, since Canada has all of those as well. XD

  • @sonofstageandpage Don't forget us awesome Canadians, eh! :D (we have all of those chocolate bars here in Canada, too)

  • @sonofstageandpage we got em' in Canada too!

  • Next time buy the Jammie Dodgers! :D

  • Wait! You don't have Mars Bars in the States?! That's bizarre. Try deep frying it with apple slices (the Irish taught me that).

  • Er... I so bought Sweetly last Saturday... :D Gotta love WhSmith!

  • LOL! Nice video! And Congrats!!!

  • i'll tell my brother, or parents to get it for my sister for christmas.... she likes your works... i already got her something and wont post it cos no doubt she'd see this comment.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  • jackson, youre hilarious :D

    i love your humor!

  • oh i thought everyone had mars bars and cadbury chocolates

  • I thought you were going to get a umbrella so you could fly Mary Poppins style to the UK to promote your book

  • Hahahahahahahahaha! That spotted dick thing made my day!

  • you don't have digestives in america??!! :O How can you live!!!! And I don't understand spotted dick either... But i thought mars bars were american too :/

  • I never knew Mars bars were English :D That's cool. I always assumed they originated from the US xD And you never had a Mars bar before? :O They're really popular here in Canada. And "Spotted Dick." I would not eat that :/ And like the tamale girl :)

  • Spotted Dick is a suet pudding with dried fruits, usually currants in. It sticks to your ribs, as my Nanna would say. I can't say it's my favourite, but I do like it. There are a few likely reasons for it to be called 'dick' but it doesn't exactly tantalise the taste buds.

  • I'm British and I still can't get over Spotted Dick... ;p And digestives! And you don't have Mars bars in America?! They're awesome :D Happy UK release day!

  • oh forgot to mention in my last comment! I am going to buy sweetly tomorrow, as long as I get my essay for uni done before the shops close! :)

  • I had no idea mars bars were british haha!! Thought they were american! They have had them in every place I have ever lived in....yet I havent lived in america so I guess that was a false assumption! :P

  • I find it really odd how you don't know what some of those things are because things like mars bars are things I've been eating since before I was two :')

  • Oh what wonderful names of candy the British come up with.

  • <3 Good choise of yummy foood :D

  • Oh, and my Sweetly was delivered here in the UK 2 days ago - yay!

  • Mars bars rock! Chocolate fingers - yes, digestive bisuits - yes, aeros - yes, gooseberry jam - yes. All good treats over here in England. Spotted dick - no, no, no, no, noooooo!

It was invented as a medieval torture device by school dinner ladies, to inflict on poor little school children in the earlier part of the 20th century, and was usually covered in custard. Basically sponge pudding with things lurking in it. Not good, not good at all.

  • My grocery store doesn't have a "British stuff" isle =( I wish it did...lameeeee

  • Wow I didn't know that Mars bars are English. There is me thinking that they sold them in the US too

  • Oh and spotted dick is an awesome dessert. Look it up.

  • Hahahah your reaction to the Spotted Dick was rather funny. I find it so odd that Americans have "British" isles. That's SO awesome!

  • Yeah you need to eat those Cadbury's Fingers. Just one won't be enough. Eat one and then you'll just have to eat the whole pack. Try to stop. Just try.

  • that tamale girl was lovely. YOU DON'T HAVE MARS BARS? WHAT IS YOUR LIFE AMERICA D; ?

  • I'm from the UK & I've never heard of Spotted Dick before =/ & I also didn't know Mars Bars and stuff were British

  • I really wish I lived in Atlanta right now.... I could be all excited when you used your microphone thing.

BUTIKNEWWHATAMARSBARIS! So now I get confused when I say milky way.

  • LION BARS. They are the best. Oh man do I love them.

  • i want it so bad !!!!! jackson you such a good writer :D

  • I didn't realise how many of the things in this video were UK/Ireland exclusive until now.

  • I'm British and I found this hilarious.

  • ENGLISH FOOD ROCKS OUR CHOCOLATE IS BETTER THAN AMERICAN SORRY!! WE ALSO MAKE GREAT SAUSAGES AND MUSTARD :)

  • Us British people do not eat that nasty stuff. (well at least not me) Spotted Dick? Ew. no, just no.

  • This was so cool. I wonder if any other authors stand on the street and let everyone know that their book has come out in a different country? Probably not. You're the best, Jackson!

  • Also, I should send you some jelly babies and wine gums.
