hey, I was playing around with an htc g1 and managed to brick it(i think). when powered off, any button combination leads to the tmobile g1 screen and it stays there. does not go into recovery, not into fastboot and neither into that rainbow screen, any ideas on how i can save it?

ok this is what you have to do.

Hold Home and Power till you get to the recovery screen.

Click ALT+W To Wipe your phone. Take the battery out then try to flash the image file.

Make sure your sdcard is renamed to sdcard. Once you do that make sure the file is by itself in the root of your sdcard. And and try it again

OH crap. Ok are you really in the UK? Because if so. That's the problem. You won't be able to do it like that. You need RC8 it's on the right. Just download it. And do the same thing you've been doing.

You did it wrong. make sure your sdcard is named sdcard. And when you put the programs into the sd card they look. just like they look on my video.

Don't format it. Just rename it to sdcard in lowercase letters. Your computer might make it in all caps but it's ok. Don't worry about that.

Yes Remember there is no such thing as a Bricked Phone. It is only "bricked" when lets say you throw it in a pool while it's on.
