  • amazing video man

  • @anm153 thank you very much =)

  • I just have to say that you are "tree cancer", look up that term as I saw many people get dropped from a real sniper school for this. You are too green & not blending in with the only 3 feet that matter. This is from the ground up,also, you don't have to use so much vegetation, use mud & run your ghillie through it a few times. Beat the clumps out & then add a few pieces of vegetation. Then you got the scent & the distinction of your outline removed & no animal will really see you. 0317/0369 C1/7

  • hey man! great ghillie suit! I take it that it was home made! I have a question! I bought one online for like a 150$ now pre made suits..? what is your opinion..? are they good, because I've used it and, it works just wanted some tips how to use that suit better! rather than making my own.

  • You rule

  • Did you use mainly burlap strips, because that looks very bushy.

  • my ghillie doesnt have a net how would i add natural vegetation to my suit

  • @Sgtdaza90 just tie it to the burlap somehow....you could also maybe use some goob and glue some straps to it, maybe some velcro straps or something that would work easily to hold vegetation in, hope that helps

  • @SurvivorRye You use shoe goo every 2 inches & some dental floss to secure the netting by sewing it onto the back of an old cammie blouse. Then you can go to walmart & buy natural burlap, cut into 16-18 inch squares, shred it,then tie it layering it onto the suit. This is what I did to make a ghillie that lasted me a few years & through sniper school. Please don't be a"call of duty dick"&put it on the front. You do not put any jute on the front as you will be stalking(on your stomach) in your suit.

  • @eddieg1979 I don't have any burlap on the front. And for having absolutely no formal training and this being my first ghillie suit, that I built completely from scratch, I think it turned out pretty good. I'm too green for the surroundings at this time of year, and since I live in Canada the seasons change quite rapidly, you would have to have 4 or 5 different suits to really blend in here. I appreciate the insight but give me some credit! =)

  • @Sgtdaza90 cool thanks for the info

  • @Sgtdaza90 ?? Are you a real sergeant or just calling yourself one due to a damn video game? You use the jute to tie the natural vegetation to your suit and you do not use any vegetation on the front because a real sniper crawls a few inches here and there on thier stomachs to stalk to thier target..duuuhh!! You use an old sea bag or go to walmart in the fabric section for jute & brown canvas. Anyways, that is my advice 0317/ 0369 C co 1/7. sniper school class 2-99.

  • @eddieg1979 You fight for our freedom so we can play video games, let him call himself a sergeant on the internet if he wants, he's not hurting anyone. lol =)

    And thank you for serving!

  • nice ghillie man

were you ever in the military

  • @MrColoradosurvival no, but it's a goal of mine that's still a few years away

  • The is a good video!!!! Basically 99% vegetation

  • When I ghillie, I usually grab the two pant legs and drag them through leaves/sticks against the grain to tangle it all deep in the material. Then I put it on and roll off the excess. Much faster than working it in by hand and when I'm done, you can only see about 1/3 of the ghillie material and the rest is all natural.

  • Outstanding Video!

  • @leoarmy88 thank you!

  • @zonex1a Sniper - Pronobozo, Yes, Burlap cut into strips of different lengths and thickness

  • My question which is probably a no shit question is it itchy in there?

  • @Nelsonh396 Surprisingly no... the bdu which sits against the skin is quite comfortable. It can get pretty hot however, so I cut some holes in the armpits and filled them in with camouflage mesh.

  • @SurvivorRye Ok so im working on my ghillie which is made for desert so yay 100 degrees in California. That gonna be hot. Ok thanks for the tips.

  • @Nelsonh396 No problem! Glad to help. :D You could potentially cut even more holes as long as they're patched up with a mesh material, so they don't rip open. Will drop the temperature inside the suit a bit.

  • @1:18 where did the suit go??

  • @bruceleeking1 it's crazy how well you can get it to blend in, isn't it? :D

  • how do you add it on to a ghillie i bought from the internet?

  • @carlyle0229 Any way you can, improvise and adapt. I can't help much without seeing the suit you bought....sorry.

  • If u have the right kind o chillier I can view upclose check out my ghollie video the kids never saw it coming

  • Hey where do you get the mesh from?

  • @Deadspark329 sports store, it was a volleyball net.

  • Nice suit dude!! I just finished my first ghillie ever and it's awesome!!!

  • @aztell05 Thanks!

  • Thanks for all the comments and views, I appreciate it! =)

  • no i couldnt see u the camera man was like 500 ft away and you were behind a hil

  • @wilizjacobson If you are a sniper and an enemy gets closer than that, you're in more trouble than you think anyway. Ghillie suits are meant to break up your silhouette from a distance, and allow you to blend into the background. They're not meant for up-close viewing, no matter what the movies tell you.

  • @SurvivorRye O sry u would prbly no more ..btw i have made one im not done tho

i just have the jacket and i had some ppl try to find me and they couldnt see me and

they were just 10 ft or less

  • @wilizjacobson Cool, well be sure to post a video when you're done! :)

  • if you bought a premade suit could you still add on environment pieces and stuff? and could you elaborate on how the bike inner tube helps in the pieces not falling off?

  • @crumblymunky sure you can add stuff to it. For the inner tube, you can cut it into small pieces leaving basically rubber bands, then wrap them around the net that holds on the burlap and you can shove natural vegetation in there with it, the best part is it's cheap, and flat black so there's no shine, shine = bad

  • @mechaart its not really complicated its more time consuming and prob from $60-$80

  • dude ghille suits are just too cool!!

  • any nice tip how to make the vegs stay on the ghillie, always when i stand up, some of the sh*t drops off. :/ tie em to the jute or what? ive tried to put em under netting, but without help :/

  • @SaWorZZZ Get a bicycle inner tube, cut it up into sections and use the rounds to hold the vegetation on.

  • i made the top part and the tallest member of my paintball team uses it. Help him alot and he doesnt mind the extra weight. We went once when it was snowing and he ran in front and laid down and i kicked snow on top of him!!! GENIUS!!! cuz nobody really knew he was there

  • man I would love to learn how to make my own ghillie suit one day. is it very difficult and how expensive? I one day want to take sniper training but where do I go to register?

  • @mechaart Sniper training? Well...you can join the Army, that'd be a great place to start. =)

The suit wasn't difficult or expensive to make, just time consuming.

  • @mechaart Fort Benning Georgia? At least its in georgia.

  • Nice ghillie.

  • gay song!!!!!

  • whats the name of the song? :P

  • Very nice! Do you think putting camouflage net on your pants, jacket, hood and then putting on vegetation from the area would work? Since it's already some camo on the net it should work pretty well and easy to put on the grass or whatever in the netting.

  • @dracir098 i did that for mine, it works amazingly if you stuff it right. The only issue is if you move a lot the stuff gradually falls out.

  • @dracir098 Sure it would help, as long as the net isn't shiny or anything like that. Shine is your worst enemy. That, and pink.

  • your suit looks really nice.. but the only problem is that you filled it with green colors and the environment that you're in is more brown and gray if anything. I would use more synthetic materials first to get a nice brown to gray hue and then use the natural foliage to further the effect of needed that little subtle amount of green. that and don't hide behind fallen trees to prove we can't see you lol that's just silly. all in all though good suit =D

  • Thanks for watching. In hindsight I should have got the camera person closer so you could have seen where I was hiding up close. Next time. There's too much snow out right now. =)

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks but I am Canadian. =)

  • So what exactly is a ghillie suit?

  • I would expect someone who's looking at ghillie suit videos to at least know what one is, if not, you can always google it

  • @Nalkjn2 strings of multiple camoflauges used to not be seen by the enemy, you're welcome.

  • lol? its the grass suit that hes in used for sniper camo usually or hunting n stuff

  • So first you mixed branches and leaves and put it on your bdu

    and your done?

  • I think you need a ghillie suit first bud =)

  • Racism is not tolerated here, you will be blocked.

  • everything good but the last spot right at 4:00 everything was brown and i guess your stuff fell out idk but you were very green

  • Yeah I was lying on a pile of dead leaves...not the best choice for a green suit I guess! =)

  • I need to make another video soon, the foliage is much more appropriate now for my ghillie colours.

  • whats the name of 1st song ? nice ghillie btw...

  • Sniper - Pronobozo

  • Nice info, smart 5*

  • not a bad ghillie at all

  • not a bad video, cept i woulda laid next to the hill in very end. More cover for you, also less of you to bee seen from opposing side. Your head wouldnt be sticking up. Not a bad suit for homemade either. few turn out well enough anymore.

  • I wasn't on top of the hill the whole time, I only poked my head up after the wife couldn't find me.

I was actually in a hole about halfway down that hill.

Thanks for the compliment on the suit, it was a labour of love.

  • Hmm, couldnt tell in the video. lol All good though. And yea, making a ghillie is nothing but art, time and love for it. Other wise its not worth a damn for a ghillie..XD
