i think that is the correct way to hold chopsticks, at least thats what my teacher taught me when i was in china and while i was still learning, i did see most people hold it like so in the restaurants over there :)

I'm chinese. And I dont think theres a correct way to hold it. What suits you bet is the best. Dont drop it all over the place and your doing well.

@310shadow310 it will feel really awkward the first couple times but it takes practice. this is exactly how i hold them and i can pick up anything, take bites if the piece is too big for one mouthful and continue holding onto what isnt in my mouth, and i cant even cut certain foods. its can be done, it just takes practice. once you get it youll have it for good too :P
