Dear Jacob, you have no idea how much your wise words -and your lessons, but specially this particular message- have reached me and inspired me (I don't care how this sounds; it's still a fact). Really, thank you very, very much. I sincerely wish all the best.
@PulsePause honestly, I think what is really important, is that it affected you as it did, whether I understand exactly how, well that's a "horse of a different color"......
Man, this guy is so wonderful! you've given me inspiration... I've always wanted to own a drum set but my parents wont let me. they say it'ls too loud. I have to find a way...
This video changed my life, literaly. I saw it 3 years ago,on those days i was quitting college because I chose a carrer that I didn't like and was really depressed. My parents didn't want me to go to music college and I was scared to do it. This video gave me hope. Now I'm working in a coffee shop, earning money to pay my music carrer, my dream is still alive. THANKS YOU Mr Kaye, getting lessons from you should be an honor, a truly master.
It's a year and a half before I have to decide to go study social work 7 miles away from home.. or go trying to break trough in the Rotterdam Conservatory 50 miles from my good old house. It's still hard, having 5 years experience with only a marching teacher. Musicians in my network are impressed, but it's one of life's biggest risks. Hoping for a steady future.
I would love to be able to say things like these when I'm living in 2060.
Sometimes someone tells us something that we've heard a million times, but for a strange reason, that person succeeds in getting the message across and gets us really inspired, motivated and thankful for what we've got, be that a talent, a passion, or whatever. Having said this, thank you very much for being this person today, Jacobkaye.

beautiful words. i've often been told that i won't succeed in my drumming or music career for that matter. it doesn't matter when you started playing, what color you are, or what creed you come from, it matters that you strive that much harder when people are negative towards your dreams. amazing speech, i saved it to my favorites. you take care, and also, great chops bro!
inspiring, especially love that you did'nt dwell on any religion of yours, you spoke from one person to another person, not using any scriptures. That just means that it can get through to everyone. Maybe you think this because your religion, but i does'nt matter man, lots of people around me think that my dreams to become a musician are stupid as i won't get a lot of MONEY, everyone should hear this!
jacob!..i wish you were my teacher!...not just in drums but in philosophy! man thats amazing!...many people give up their goals because they dont believe in themselves, this will afirm them!!
These words should be engraved in gold if they havent been already. I study jazz in university.(my instructor=great player but cant lay it down to the student like big Jacob here.) Priceless information, and afirmative! The kind of guidance that could bring a player to the bigger markets im sure. I WISH THIS WAYS MY PRIVATE LESSONS GUY!!!
Haven't drummed in months till today. This was what i needed :) thanks!
