I was a pretty big Dokken fan back when George was with the band, and I was crushed when I heard they'd broke up. George is an immense influence in my own playing. That said, this is terrible. It's not just a matter of tone. His execution is slopping as is his timing, and I'm not digging the new spin he's putting on the track. He sounds rusty, and (musically speaking) a bit lost.

Forget the shortcomings of the camera/microphone, his technique is pro. Lots of guys are good, few are true professional/virtuoso. Lynch is on the virtuoso list.

GL has a very percussive tone, much of which is lost when recoded in this fashion. I've been a the room when he plays and it sounded a hell of a lot better than this. His muted notes felt like punches to the solar plexus, and made me feel like i was going to vent myself!

Look at the acoustics, guitar, amp, reverb--hell: everything is different from the original recording except the guitar player. (in 1982 there was no ESP with ScreamingDemon pickup, different Randall amp, very controlled studio setting...). Nothing wrong with Lynch
