  • Honda Pilot Touring (similarly equipped to this one): $40,000

    This Dodge Durango CrewLux: $36,000

    Durango all the way!!

  • If you've looked at the lastest Consumer Reports edition, CR has finally placed the Durango on the recommended list. Road test score 71.

  • tahoe master race. although this does have a very nice interior and exterior

  • this new durango does not have ground clearance i dont think it can go off roading that is so bad

  • @maxthehulk Yes it can, it has better ground clearance than almost all other SUV's. It is actually equal to the GMC Yukon, but the Jeep Cherokee is the best for ground clearance. I have several SUV's at my rental company, and the 2011+ Durango is becoming the employee and customer favorite.

  • @maxthehulk So what? For off road, buy a Grand Cherokee. Dodge admits this is a street car

  • This guy is so gangsta.

  • I was reading the update of transmissions for the Durango. The Pentastar V6 will get an 8-speed auto; however, unlike the Charger or Chrysler 300 HEMI V8 that will still have the 5-speed auto; the Jeep GC and the Durango will get a 6-speed auto with the HEMI from what I hear except the GC SRT. Respond if I get a source confused.

  • is this mr. rogers?

  • ok anybody know what the buttons on the back of the steering wheel do??? ive had my durango for a year and cant find what they are...

  • @dill30669

    Read the effing manual.

  • @dill30669 If you have not figured it out yet, I think it is for the sound and radio chanells scanning, I used to have a Chrysler concord before which had the same buttons on the back of the steering wheel.

    Hope this help.

    Cheers

  • "Fuel economy not exactly it's strong point" No crap it's a V8! What V8 Suv gets great fuel economy?

  • Motor Trend compared several SUVs in this class (3 - row SUVs). They compared seven of them... how did the Durango rank? 2nd behind the Mazda CX-9 which was the favorite. The new Ford Explorer was last. The list...

    1. Mazda CX-9

    2. Dodge Durango

    3. Toyota Highlander

    4. Chevy Traverse

    5. Honda Pilot

    6. Ford Explorer

  • @76carmel Yep, if you're in this market it pretty much comes down to 3 options in my opinion. If you want performance and driivng competency it's Mazda. If you need to tow anything more than a radio flyer then it's Durango. If you want a vanilla SUV that will stay mechanically sound for a couple of decades, but otherwise give you nothing rewarding then it's Highlander.

    The rest are crap.

  • @mpalm887

However, I read a story that Ford sales of the new Explorer have been strong. I think MT rated the Explorer low due to the MyFordTouch and their technologies that could be distracting, but it could lock up on the driver. Thus, it could a little fussy. With a total redesign, some will like it, some won't.

  • This is the best looking Durango I've ever seen. I wish there was a performance version of the Durango, because there's some V8 versions that sure make it look like one.

  • @MrPman851 There is the R/T...

  • @bigvirgotube, that's my FAV.

  • @MrPman851 There's the RT, and I've heard rumors of an SRT (Unlikely, but fingers crossed)

  • Was he serious when he said that it was a "mid sized SUV"? I've never seen something as big as that!!!

  • Well, I;m not into SUV's but this is a really nice looking vehicle.

  • beautiful from every angle! MOPAR IS KING!

  • im a tech at chrysler. those new v6 aka pentestar are good but saw them leak at the timing cover.a lot . hemis are powerful but lots of problem and 16 spark plugs.

  • I want one these are beasts

  • AMC Eagle 4 door wagon! that's what this remind of...Some fake wood paneling might be in order for this family truckster :-)

once in awhile car industry tosses us something redundant, not bad, not good or adequate...No my friends ,just plain old reeeedundant and this is that thing...

  • at 0:23, it looks like a Toyota Sequoia and Mazda CX-9 (the taillights and wheels)

  • If it proves to be reliable, which is always a problem with Chrysler products, it will give the new Explorer a good challenge.

  • Rather have a Jeep Cherokee.

  • The Hemi looks good on paper, but it is a sport engine. The power is delivered at high rpms, not exactly practical for towing. There needs to be a gas burner with gobs of torque at low rpms.

  • Unibody =/= Car based platform....grrrrrrr

  • This does not compete with the Sequoia!

  • This car is a true ostrich...Oh yeah !ostrich? in Afghanistan its called "Camel Bird"...

So as the story goes the wise man asked the Camel Bird to fly for he is a bird he "The Camel Bird" replayed "No, cant do cause I am a camel " the wise man replayed: then carry my load you camel you ,He said: NO NO THIS LOAD IS NOT THE ONE FOR ME...I am a bird

So we've Got our self a Tahoe that can't push a proper snow plow or is it a family mini truckster that guzzles full like a Taho

    Gaus

  • Nice. Dodge is no longer shit.

  • looks good

  • good thing this guy isnt being a bitch with this review

  • why do you guys always buy vehicles in dull boring awful colours?

  • suvs are getting soft.

  • Its a big improvement!

  • Gorgeous.

  • worse car ever

  • nice vehicle, but i'm also into fuel economy, because i travel regularly
