magic my friend , many thanks for the invite to watch this wee film as always it is wonderful to sit in the wee tin can and listen to ylou , love and light
WOWOW!!! I loved that Bernard!!! The third time I listened, I got up and started dancing around the diningroom table!!! Great first song of the day ( it's 8:30am in Pennsylvania, USA)
Wooooow, so great. such a romantic melodyLove the way you play from the schoulder. I tried the violin. The thing that set me off was the pain on my chin. Some tips? Great guitar playing to!
Very good, i really like music like this but a bit off topic, i have an idea for what could be really good as well, what about playing the Hardanger fiddle in norwegian style and a regular fiddle in scottish style in the same song?, sort of like jamming together. Unfortunately i dont play the violin and im not sure i have the attention span and the will to do it, but if i did i would play some hardanger fiddle tunes with you.
@vesternor Tunes like the one i use on my western norway Hardanger fiddle video called bestefarslåtten, Gammel-Husin (Hardingfele), Kjellstadhallingen (Hardingfele), Gudvangen (Hardingfele) and the most famous Fanitullen. Im not even sure i have picked out the best ones there is so many, just write hardingfele and check out these songs and other good songs posted by vikingvinter who seem to have hundreds of them.
@vesternor "Haakon Solaas plays Fanitullen on the hardanger fiddle", i think this is the best version of the tune. Many of the melodies i mentioned earlier i have not really listened to that much but alot of the melodies that i remember i dont know the name of, but as i said you can check out vikingvinters Hardingfele videos.
@BJHBNE I will check this out. I know we are ment to have this old ties with Norge, but it's SO old i dont know any of this music! But its got to be in the blood somwhere thats for sure!!
@vesternor I have fund that fiddle music from western norway is a bit more diverse with both happy upbeat and melankolic melodies, while eastern Norway is upbeat but a bit too upbeat and happy all the time and i dont like all of it. Traders and fishermen have probably travelled between Scotland and western Norway and exchanged ideas and music a bit too being so close and Bergen being the largest city in Scandinavia in the 1600s. So Shetland was probably influenced a bit after the viking age too.
Not only was I pleased to watch and comment favourably, I also edited my subscription so I would automatically receive your uploads. It was time-consuming but Bernard......you are worth it. LOL
Hey is it true that fiddlers put the fiddle under the chin to rest their weary heads?
bravo
