Tis a gift to be simple...American shaker hymn - used as a theme by Aaron Copeland..it is hidden in this tune. Anyone else hear it?

I never noticed that, woodbelly. Thanks. I now hear it in the first four measures of the A part of this song -- a similarity between the two.

What is even more fascinating, to me, is that Copland fashioned his famous Hoe-Down movement of Rodeo (for others out there: used on that "Beef... it's what's for dinner" commercial) directly from the old time fiddler William H. Stepp's arrangement of "Bonaparte's Retreat." Please look that one up here on Youtube. It's incredible.
