This game taught me all of the core gaming strategies for every genre that I still use today. Defense, offence, magic, the best way to train for a boss fight, how much of each healing item i should keep in my inventory, battle strategies, finding weaknesses, using and upgrading combos, you name it lol. It's the second rpg i ever bought and the first one i ever beat. this game, along with FF VII (the first rpg i ever bought) are the reason i'm a rpg gamer for life

I'm serious. I truly believe this is the greatest video game of all time. There's nothing bad about this game. Not a one single flaw... Yes, voice acting kinda suck but that's not a big problem and Japanese doesn't even have that problem.

I believe there won't be LOD2. Even if there is, it won't be as great as this LOD. I went to research and found out that there're only 2person in charge of making LOD's music. Unfortunately, one of them passed away. I must say that the music makes the deepest impact on LOD, follow up by storyline and characters.
out of all the scenes in this game this is my favorite i just like the look of the burning village and the sad music the great commmander knowing all this is wrong and feels sorry for the town and the mystery of that gem and why shana and what bthe hell the gem lighting up means and why show the moon (again the mystery)

If you want sheet music look on youtube for a user named "platinumpiano", he does covers of piano music on his page and if my memory is correct (which it may not be) he has done a few LoD covers, he has a website where he posts the sheet music, you can find it in the description of his videos I'm pretty sure.

I grew up with this game and being in the art field, this game, after 9 years of owning it still blows me away of how well the graphics are. Really is ahead of it's time.
The con people say that the combat system sucks, is just stupid imo. It just makes the game harder where you have to time your additions perfectly and because of that you have to work at it and practice to get it right.
I believe they stopped making the sequence because one of the the music producers passed away. Which had a very big impact since the LOD music is one of the biggest factor which addict me in playing this game.
I have no idea why guys try to change other people's opinions on Youtube. Don't bother: either you like this game or you don't. Why are you all so typing so much and acting like your opinions are facts?

I've finished FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, Xeonogears, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, Grandia, Star Ocean, Lunar and many other great rpg's that I actually wanted to finish. Lame voice acting, lame sounds, lame system (do combo's over and over and over again till you learn a new one.... How much more boring can a system get?), lame characters (nothing unique like Cait Sith or Vivi just typical human guys), lame xp (only real way to level was from a boss, same thing I disliked about Chrono Cross) lame gear, lame storyline, lame villians (remeber the prison guy who was a ripoff of the pirate badguy from darkwater... Well xenogears was definitely a great RPG, (my favorite of all time) but no one ever spit on those rpgs so calm down buddy. And like I said you shouldn't assume what people know or not about rpgs. You have your opinion about dragoon, fine but just because others like it doesen't mean you automatically know more about rpgs than them simply because you don't like it. Its common sense really.
Xeogears was a great rpg, so was FF7, FF8, FF9, Crono Trigger, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, most SNES rpgs, Morrowind, Fable, KOTOR, and many many others... I'm not mad at people who like Dragoon... I just don't get why they would place it on the top 5 when I woudn't even put it in my top 20 because it was a mediocre rpg. I've told my reasons why so I won't go on, but I'm playing Dragoon right now so I won't give any feedback till I'm actually done with the last disc.
But the reason I feel the way I do is simply because I had many different PSX rpgs, and I wasted my time on Goon... Even though I coudn't get past the 2nd disc, and don't think its because I'm lazy I beat and enjoyed Tactics and Xenogears both games take up to 80 plus hours. Hey I agree with that its not like its the worst rpg ever made that's not what I'm saying.
But it does fail at so many levels, but in some ways some people might like the fails, I will give it one more chance but from my time owning it I've never got past the 2nd disc. I didn't like the xp systems (skimp xp from random battles, it was almost impossible to level up or prepare for a boss fight I didn't like that much about Crono Cross either), I didn't like the voice's, sound, or music much..etc.

I believe there won't be LOD2. Even if there is, it won't be as great as this LOD. I went to research and found out that there're only 2person in charge of making LOD's music. Unfortunately, one of them passed away. I must say that the music makes the deepest impact on LOD, follow up by storyline and characters.

out of all the scenes in this game this is my favorite i just like the look of the burning village and the sad music the great commmander knowing all this is wrong and feels sorry for the town and the mystery of that gem and why shana and what bthe hell the gem lighting up means and why show the moon (again the mystery)

@viniciusgabriel10 Its only ever called "Intro" because it was made specifically for the purpose of this scene. It was composed by Dennis Martin. If you want sheet music look on youtube for a user named "platinumpiano", he does covers of piano music on his page and if my memory is correct (which it may not be) he has done a few LoD covers, he has a website where he posts the sheet music, you can find it in the description of his videos I'm pretty sure.

I grew up with this game and being in the art field, this game, after 9 years of owning it still blows me away of how well the graphics are. Really is ahead of it's time.
The con people say that the combat system sucks, is just stupid imo. It just makes the game harder where you have to time your additions perfectly and because of that you have to work at it and practice to get it right.

If I have no desire to finish a game what does that tell you about that certain game.
I've finished FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, Xeonogears, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, Grandia, Star Ocean, Lunar and many other great rpg's that I actually wanted to finish. If I've gotten through these and gave up Goon on the 2nd disc wtf does that tell you about the game? I wanted very much to like goon because I traded a lot for it. My opinion is educated by the way, I got through the first disc and it sucked and I had no interest in getting farther.
IGN, me and many other reviewers hated this game, it got poor scores and was a simple ripoff of every other rpg. I'm no Square fanboy as I've liked many rpg's outside of Square, that has nothing to do with anything.... I like good RPG's wether Bioware does it, Enix, Bethsada or any other rpg company. I don't like ripoffs with uninteresting systems and poor characters.

But yes I really do hate the direction the new FF's are going. What happened to classes, dragons, sorcery and magic? Now its about spaceships and lasers, since when did FF become Starwars? FF6 was one of the greats and it mixed fantasy and modern day elements well. You gotta give it to FF9 for staying traditional, FF9 was probably my favorite game on PSX.

Lame voice acting, lame sounds, lame system (do combo's over and over and over again till you learn a new one.... How much more boring can a system get?), lame characters (nothing unique like Cait Sith or Vivi just typical human guys), lame xp (only real way to level was from a boss, same thing I disliked about Chrono Cross) lame gear, lame storyline, lame villians (remeber the prison guy who was a ripoff of the pirate badguy from darkwater... WOw everything in this game is a ripoff).

Xeogears was a great rpg, so was FF7, FF8, FF9, Crono Trigger, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, most SNES rpgs, Morrowind, Fable, KOTOR, and many many others... I'm not mad at people who like Dragoon... I just don't get why they would place it on the top 5 when I woudn't even put it in my top 20 because it was a mediocre rpg. I've told my reasons why so I won't go on, but I'm playing Dragoon right now so I won't give any feedback till I'm actually done with the last disc.

Even though I coudn't get past the 2nd disc, and don't think its because I'm lazy I beat and enjoyed Tactics and Xenogears both games take up to 80 plus hours. Hey I agree with that its not like its the worst rpg ever made that's not what I'm saying.
But it does fail at so many levels, but in some ways some people might like the fails, I will give it one more chance but from my time owning it I've never got past the 2nd disc. I didn't like the xp systems (skimp xp from random battles, it was almost impossible to level up or prepare for a boss fight I didn't like that much about Crono Cross either), I didn't like the voice's, sound, or music much..etc.
