  • McCotter for President 2012

  • Great to have this voice in the GOP primaries. McCotter can really turn the tables on Obama's class warfare demagoguery. If he doesn't win the nomination, he'd be a great VP on a Perry/McCotter ticket.

  • McCotter is an honorable man the United States needs in the White House. I would camp out for weeks to vote for this man.

  • McCotter for President!!!

That almost made me cry, I know people like Greg here in TX, a state that's doing better than most. Its amazing that were still handing out money to other nations when people in our own home are suffering.

  • "we've made sacrifices but you haven't"

And there are no signs of it coming, quite the contrary in fact.

  • And who are you to judge ? atleast this politician pretend to care.. now a day most politician's doesn't even care to take some time to speak about the story of the common people, if one of those politicians seem sincere don't you dare insult him you nasty troll.

  • NO!!! the sign says DON'T feed the troll

  • Greg called in to a local Detroit radio show when McCotter was a guest. The show was The Frank Beckman Show on WJR in Detroit. I heard Greg on the show. People called in afterwards offering to buy Greg's daughter the yearbook. Michigan is in terrible shape, in case you haven't heard, and Greg was not just speaking for himself. It's frustrating when you lose your job while, meanwhile, Congress is throwing our money away like used toilet paper.

  • How can you not sympathize with a person expressing their outrage, such as you've done here. Replace "whine to a congressman" with "vent on Youtube" and your statement isn't much different. Yours a plea to individual fortitude, Greg's plea to those in charge of his tax dollars. Thaddeus and Greg had a crystal ball if you ask me. How do you feel about the stimulus 7 months later?

  • Comment removed

  • I guess we can look at the bright side. Scraping along on barely do-able paychecks, anyway--- at least now we're not going hungry AND knowing we're paying for really nice extras and freebies for the 100 million immigrants brought it over the past 60 years--- tuition cuts, free computers, tax-paid scholarships, when generational people won't see the inside of a college, much less free computers. At least the SALT in the wound lessens, lol.

  • Thad is one of the best speakers the Reps have, consistently he makes amazing speeches, in my opinion. He needs to get a very good leadership position.

  • A real Congressman of the old school, thank you Thad.

  • Love this guy

  • But I think Pelosi deserves a new Jet, she needs to get above it all!

  • This is what is wrong with America. You have a few honest, decent, hardworking congressmen like Rep. McCotter doing the right thing, and they get no credit. While the rest of America fawns, drools, claps and cries over a phony, lying, no good charleton like Barack Obama becuase he can "speak so well". All the while he is stabbing them in the back and each day taking away a piece of liberty from them.

God Bless Thaddues McCotter. He SHOULD be the Republicans leader.

  • The man hasn't been in office for a good 4months yet. How do you fel about the last 8 year? Were they good? A time of deregulation, and privatization pushed by this guys own party!Check is record on education, business, healthcare, social security and other basic down to earth concerens that effect families like the one that wrote the letter. Why when someonen says they're goona lift teh working they are demonized but big business supporters are idolized. look at what that has bought us to.

  • Sorry about the spelling errors I was rushing.

  • in just 4 months our new President has spent about 2 trillion dollars we dont have (the iraq war cost 800billion in 6 years), has usurped control of private business(banks and GM), and is refusing to take OUR money back from banks that don't want the TARP money. He is seeking to increase the size of government (which means more people will be dependant upon it, and the cost to taxpayers will increase). Don't respond by pointing out Bush's failures, because doing so doesn't lessen Obama's

  • I just watched Rep. McCotter on C-Span speaking about the little mystery amendment from the TRILLION DOLLAR SPENDING BILL! Thank you Mr. McCotter for setting the record straight! Now we know why republicans were allowed only allowed 90 minutes to read this bill.

  • McCotter is always amazing eloquent, and so perfectly right. I'm a fan.

  • Keep giving them hell, Thaddeus! Nancy Pelosi is a horrible person!

  • Just heard his blogpodcast. McCotter is great! He voted against the first bailout and stuck to his guns ever since. Mscott doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

  • Greg: Don't know if you have a computer or bother to waste time looking at You Tube. But a taste of America that has never had to sacrifice for a thing have posted here, I am one that has lost my home, attends church on weekends and I am one that chooses to help rather than hurt as I have been where you are now.

I have close friends that help rather than hurt. Respond if you can. Greg in Milford isn't much help, A Church name would help.

  • Where was everybody when dumb Ron Paul was running? Well, running away from Ron Paul, good idea. Obama will be impeached soon Thank God! Thanks Obama, GOOD JOB BUDDY!!!

  • Obama can't be impeached soon enough, I agree. I hope Thaddeus McCotter runs for president. This guy has guts and always did. He never strays from doing the right thing. I'd give him my vote in a heartbeat.

  • You are nuts!

  • mscott9985, stop drinking the Kool-aid. You are falling for the media's portrayal of what is real, and not looking at reality itself.

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter is a real American patriot, who is willing to do what is right, rather than what is politically expedient.

I am proud that he is my Congressman, and I support him completely.

  • If anyone is handing out Kool-aid, it is Thad McC.

BUT, if Rep. McCotter is truly against the stimulus package, then he should no't have his hand out when the payments are made. If he's against it, then let him stand by what he 'believes'.

  • Correction mcscott: The jerkoffs who flew planes into our building got us into this war and don't you ever forget it.

  • @mscott9985, are you one of the Obama-bots from Organizing for America or ACORN, paid with our tax dollars to shout us down?

  • Most people are American citizens excercicing their right to free speech and public opinion. That "we all" help pay for, monetarily, mentally and physically. Didn't you know? You are not the only ones paying taxes. But you do seem to be the only ones trying to suppress the freedom of other citizens to express their view and opinion. And whats with all the lables and titles? Why when an organization help needy people you people scream foul. But for years corp. welfare went unnoticed? Hypocrits!

  • @Jadedbyte, this guy is the sharpest, most eloquent politician I've seen in a long time, with the right principles and his heart in the right place. Also watch his appearance on Red Eye. He has a real sly sense of humor! He looks like a dork, but he would demolish Obama in any debate. McCotter is the leader the Republican party needs right now.

  • I hope not! Then he will be labled an Elitist for having an education. Or they may call him him a messia for trying to build up the nations confidence. Maybe he'll be called the savior, for having the nerve to eloquently state what he believe America really stand for, what it is capable of, and how we can put ourselves back on the right track again .Heaven forbid he can speak so fine. because some people recently tried to equate as a crime if you are able to do so.

  • elitism isn't about education, it's about action.

  • Impeached for what, did you forget? Ole Georgie prohibited special investications on the president as soon as he was in office, so the circus we seen during the Clinton years are a thing of the past. I bet they're kicking themselves in the rearend over that one. By the way what have he done to be impeached? Stop being a hater and instigator and state what the charges should be. My Chaiyala post was meant for you.I guess people really are this naive and uninformed, or is it your job to appear so.

  • mrrlmoor is too stupid for words.

  • Thanks for pointing out some of your better personal attributes!

But like I said, I bet they're kicking themselves in the rearend for prohibiting special investigations. Who championed deregulation and restricted government oversight. I'm not pointing fingers, but D*MN! Can't people at least admit when they screwup or made a mistake? Untill they ownup to their roles in our current economic perdicament there will be no solution. Yes plenty of blame to go around but denial won't solve nothing.

  • McCotter, could you spare Greg a quarter for a donut come Sunday? Term Limits and no Pork. If that don't work then its time to get a bunch of rope and find some tall trees.

  • TERM LIMITS!

  • Bunch of incompetents. IT IS THEIR JOB to know what is in the bill. They have been hashing this out for weeks. Can anyone else get away with this on their job?

  • Excellent. Regarding the other comments, not a single person in the entire Congress is reported to have read the entire bill (1000+ pages). Not one. Also, so much for Pres. Obama's 5 days posting before signing (open Government promise), as well as the bipartisan promise.

  • it was supposed to be 48 hours

  • Congressman McCotter, you get it. I wish the rest of the government would vote with there hearts and wisdom rather than there party. This package will do nothing for the average person, it will only weaken our slumping doller.I was personally touched by your heart felt words.God bless you and God help us all.

  • This guy will emerge as one of the FEW heroes in this whole MESS...

As for Pelosi and the criminal cabal that currently control our government....GOD DAMN THEM ALL

  • what have the dems done that is criminal besides voting WITH Bush on the stupid ass war and FISA. and i think you should be saying GOD HELP THEM ALL, not GOD DAMN THEM ALL. cause unfortunately, they ALL are running this country in the ground, DEMS and REPS

  • YOU'RE the 'idiot' . . idiot! They did NOT GET the Bill until AFTER midnight and it was more than 1000 pages long. One did not have to read it to know what a criminal travesty this gang of Socialists have perpetrated on us and generations to come. I GUESS you MISSED the part where he voted AGAINST it, idiot!

  • i guess you missed the fact that over 95% of this bill has been available for days now and this is what they have staff to help them do. also, this is NOTHING like the ridiculous and costly bills dumped on congress/senate by bush before he practically strongarmed them to sign them within an hour or so under threat of national emergency.

  • These are the same idiots that never read the Patriot Act.I hear what you say about socialists how many years in the future will we be paying for the trillion dollars and counting spent in Iraq,Rebuilding there roads, bridges, schools, and providing security. And how many generations will we be paying for that 750 billion That Bush signed over and Mccain had to race back to D.C. to vote yes on.I'm sure thats what you were talking about right ?

  • Surfurray69 - Those bills were overwhelmingly unpopular with the republican party and those republicans that voted for those first two bills did so because of the pressure they received from the democratic left who were dieing to vote for them. Almost all the dems voted for them hiding behind the shadow of Bush as the fall guy. This stimulus bill is broad in scope and virtually a pay off to constituents and the welfare state. You care only about party not country you phony!!!!!!

  • As usual you make assumptions ,which as we all know makes you an ass,I'm 100% against the stimulus as I was the TARP.I never voted for a democrat but I think republicans are just as corrupt. The only reason republicans are pissed is because they were shut out of the pork and didnt get any ear marks for their own special interest groups.Had they get some of that scratch they would have smiled ear to ear and said what a great thing it was.Just Like with the TARP fund.

  • And by the way if you say the democrats forced republicans to vote for the TARP fund. What kind of backbone does that tell you they have.I'd say it makes them spineless jellyfish.Just ask John Mccain who made a fool of himself.Saying he had to run back to D.C. to help fix the bill which he said he didn't like. But then voted for anyway.

I guess while Bush and the republicans spent us into 13 trillion in debt was no big deal. But when Obama stupidly adds to it.Now you get upset. What phonies !!!!

  • Every one and their grandfather knows that the republicans who did vote for it were standing behind their president who was wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!!! Don't compare tarp money and the auto bailout to the stimulus package that is a complete pay off to the constituents who elected Blabla. It is so broad in scope and borders on criminal. The comparison is just partisan blather.

  • its been over 100 years since the minority party vote in congress has been locked out of the budget planning process, Pelosie is a dictator and its starting to show big time.

  • Thank you, Mr. McCotter. I am truly proud that you are representing us.

  • thank you mr. mccotter!!!! we need a man like yourself running this state just not representing it! thanks again!

  • Thank you Mr. Cotter for voting no and reading this wonderful letter on the House floor. Wish we had more like you.

  • We have lost our country, and without a shot being fired. I've never seen so many people lie down without a fight.

Bravo, Mr. McCotter. You are one of the few good ones left.

  • This bill is a travesty. Time to get even.

  • Awesome, thank you sir for being a leader and not a sheep. For loving America like we do that prayed so hard this bill would not pass.

  • This was beautiful. I am so glad we have some Congresspeople who DO get it. What a sorry waste this bill is, and how criminal are the "self-anointed" ones in Congress who passed out that much of our children's money to the cronies that put them in power. McCotter remembers that he is a Representative of the American people. He's one of the few who do.

  • Mr. McCotter,

    Bravo Again Sir!!!

    Bravo....

  • Add Al Gore to The Greatest Crime in History.

  • Excellent letter for Mr. McCotter to read.

The only thing this bill was missing (and it may be in that 1,070+ page monstronsity for all we know!) was the requirement for a red flag with the hammer and sickle.

  • We must "Campaign for Liberty

    We will be Heard!

    Peace

  • I wish he would have read all of Greg's comments, especially where he talked about ACORN getting money from this package.

  • It goes beyond incompetence and and pork barrel spending. It is a criminal mafia cartel of bankers, Wall Streeters, career politicians and other various connected insiders.

This nothing more than the GREATEST CRIME IN HISTORY!
