  • Next time call 911 in front of him and report somebody impersonating a police officer.

  • @TheAtl6100 Actually if regardless of what how why when cops are required to give badge number. As for reasons you see him doing a illegal search violate yours others rights or are not sure he is a cop. (people impersonate cops all the time I have heard of it happening over 3 times this year in my state)Cop in Utah was pulling over minors and strip searching the girls saying they matching a warrants. Until one of his victims remembered his badge number he had over dozen victims.

  • This is stupid..... no info on whats going on...

  • Even if there's no need for the badge number, no need for the officer to identify himself, the law requires the officer to do so when asked. That's all there is to it.

  • that officer owes someone like you wandering around the street pointing a camera yelling out questions NOTHING ...

  • @helzabre the chp officer is performing an inventory search for a tow. There is nothing unusual about that. The car does not belong to the guy filming. The officer tells this guy that his badge # will be on the report. The guy responds that he is not going to get the report. A copy of the tow slip is given to the owner of the car when towed. This guy is listening to a scanner and then going to the scene, just to be a jackass.

  • You have no right to ask and officer for his badge number if the incident has nothing to do with you. You are obstructing an officers investigation if it has nothing to do with you. Learn the law or shut off your camera and stop showing off!!

  • @bmbutler45 His car is being searched, it has everything to do with him.

  • @bmbutler45 You couldn't be more wrong. You have the right to ask any time you want. It's your business for an infinite number of reasons to ask. Not saying the cameraman here wasn't being an ass. But, none the less he had the right to ask for a badge number regardless.

  • Another asshole cop that ought to lose his job. CHP's are usually much more professional than dirt bag police officers, but this one apparently doesn't deserve the privilege of wearing the badge and uniform.

  • Just curious. What kind of stop was this? Some sort of vehicle safety inspection? Why did he want to look in your trunk? He just took your keys without asking and went into the trunk?

  • How bout the dude filming this. What a noble truth seeker he is. Let's see, I'll run my video camera and try to tease this cop by repeating a worthless question over and over. The Romans would have tossed this guy in the lion pit just to kill some time in between games : )

  • I dislike cops most of the time... but why bother them with this useless shit?

  • @VIR3NT LOL.

  • @VIR3NT first of i never did a crime or was ever convicted for a crime, so there would never be an undercover cop breaking into my house. Second the police need to call in a special weapons team to do a warrant search. So if there was an undercover cop. then he wouldnt be doing his job correctly.

  • @nicothegreat795 they don't need a "special weapons team" to execute arrest/search warrants.

  • Illegal search and seizure

  • @tiger101757 I never stated the the officer in the scene didn't have a badge number, nor did I suggest it. I am simply stating a fact about this ridiculous topic. It doesn't matter anyway because that's the only question the copwatch crew can think of asking while they're out chasing the scanner.

  • god, why dont you all and let the police DO THERE JOB!!! and not make there day anymore difficult

  • the officer is in the middle of something go the hell away

  • @cybersoldier19 one does not need to know the officer's badge # to file a complaint. That's simply not accurate. The whole badge # thing is a bunch of hype. Walk into any law enforcement agency with a legit complaint and the complaint will go forward. With or without the badge #.

  • idiot

  • Wow, this whole badge # thing is great. Ok here's a new twist in the whole scenario. Did you folks know that some law enforcement agencies don't have badge numbers. Boy that could really complicate the copwatch crew's line of questioning...

  • @riverking19 Wow, this whold badge # thing is great. Ok here's a new twist in the whole scenario. Don't you think if he didn't have a badge number he would be smart enough to say he doesn't have one?

  • He is a PUBLIC SERVANT. He is required. WE PAY HIS SALARY. HELLOOOOO!!

  • Cops are required to tell you your badge number

  • @ChrisBennett18 lol I don't think thats a law...yet.

  • @cory41287 whats not a law yet?

  • Comment removed

  • you said cops have to give you YOUR badge number.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you have anything else to do? Beside asking an officer of his badge number? What for? Sir, please looks for a real job to do!

  • @tacticool820 To file a complaint, one would need the date. time, location & officers name & badge number to file a law-full complaint. If enough complaints are filed to that officer. He could be pulled off the streets & be assign to a desk, internal investigations would all so be looking at these complaints if enough of them where filed, Then the officer could lose there job. I'm not sure why a 34 year old soldier would not know this. This is why he was asking for a badge number.

  • @CyberSoldierD19 Every time you are cited or arrested for something you are given the citing/arresting officer's name and badge number. So I don't understand what this guy in the video is freaking out about.

  • did he have a permit to open that trunk? i dunno what state that is but some states require a search warrant of sorts for that kinda thing, unless he/she has good reason to believe the car needs search

  • @GeanerikC usually failure to say yes to the question "Can I have a look in the trunk of your vehicle" constitutes disobeying a direct order from a police officer and therefore obstruction, if you have a dick cop and a dick judge later on. so usually the best thing, even if there's a dead hooker and 3 lbs of coke, to open the damn trunk. look at it this way, they'll be distracted for a second to give you a head start on your high speed chase into prime time television.

  • @Souprbeast thats not true. if they ask you have a right to say no, not responding is not considered permission, and refusing consent is not admission of guilt. unless the officer has probable cause they cannot search your vehicle without consent it falls under the 4th amendment your right to privacy.

  • Very well played and professional on the officers part. Great when dealing with idiots like this and an officer remains cool.

  • He's a uniformed officer in a marked car, and he is not required to provide you with is badge number while his conducting his investigation. By you asking him questions, you could be obstructing him from performing his duties which itself is a crime. The only time he's required to identify himself is if he's undercover or in an unmarked vehicle.

  • @anishsen Sorry, but this is incorrect. Officers are generally required to identify themselves, not by law, but by department or agency policies. Also-cops can legally lie to you, about anything. Also-an obstructing charge in this case would never stand for simply asking for a badge number. Nice try though.

    Peace,

  • @holdthaphone get in the courtroom, win a few cases and then pop off. Otherwise get yourself curbside and join the copwatch program.

  • @venusbrain do you really believe that this guy was asking for the cops badge #, so he could confirm that he was a real officer. Cmon, he was fucking with the cop period. Was the cop interacting with someone? No, he was towing a car. What could this guy be so concerned about, that he felt it necessary to video a cop doing paperwork. What a hack, perfect for the copwatch crew!

  • Cops are required by law to provide all of their police identification when asked, otherwise they have no authority because you can't verify that they're really officers.

  • @venusbrain Not on a video thats going on the internet

  • @venusbrain You sound ridiculous. Why do you talk?

  • @venusbrain Police officers only need to provide one piece of identifying information. Name OR badge number OR serial number.

  • @venusbrain "otherwise they have no authority because you can't verify that they're really officers."

Sure but the point was that the he wasnt trying to arrest or extert any authority over the guy asking for ID..

So correct he had no auithority over that idiot asking for ID ( because that idiot had not commit an offence) --

  • hid badge number will be on your citation.they do not have to give your badge number only their police id so next time ask for his photo id.(not saying he will give it to you but by law you can ask for that at anytime)

  • Hey copwatch, what the fuck do you need his badge number for when you already have his name. Do you guys think that having a badge number means something special. It doesn't me anything. Fucking rookie hour with you pukes. Maybe if you had a job and actually paid taxes, he might have a little respect for you. Then he might give his badge number. That way we wouldn't have to listen to you spill raw sewage from your hollow skull : )

  • @riverking19 Move to China. I am a libertarian law student and I support this guy

  • @riverking19 and you know he doesn't pay taxes/have a job how?

  • Careful Office Harris , I believe he wants more than your badge number.....

  • The badge number will be on the ticket he gives you for obstruction if you don't get out of his face

  • @benbattles Recording in public and asking an officer for his credentials is not obstruction; it's a right and responsibility.

  • @venusbrain No it is not. Be quiet.

  • @venusbrain His credentials are all over that damn car, in the uniform he his wearing and visibly displayed on his chest in the form of a star. If this stoner shooting the video wasn't so busy trying to make the police look bad he'd realize that the officers badge number is plainly displayed on his badge(as it is on every other CHP badge in the state of CA). This officer is just doing his job but since he wears the badge he must be in the wrong

  • Hahahaha only twice for each video man come on now the 3rd time's a charm! Haha I googled you once only took a few minutes to see the troll comments you make. I can't be more exciting because Im not upset like you are haha but I do think what you say is funny in a pathetic teasing sort of manner hahahahaha. I'm not in this to call you names troll haha Im in this cause I wanna hear the names you say haha! You trolls crack me up with your internet fist fights hahahaha! I love it!

  • If you two don't stop fighting I'm going to send you both to your rooms.

  • Hahaha hit a nerve? No, other way around haha! I think myself, 1 million people on youtube, and every LEO in the USA have struck a nerve with you and I think its funny how weak you are and let it bother you! You have trolled on so many cop videos talking shit about LEO's and calling people cunts and its hilarious haha! Trolls are funny to me cause you only let out anger from behind a computer monitor or camera but you lack the balls to do so otherwise! Pathetic but funny haha!

    @pdxjason503

    1. Sorry sweetie, I routinely get to take out my dislike of police DIRECTLY ON THEM TO THEIR FACE in front of a gallery of observers.

    2. Many LEOs in the city I live (1+ million people) know me by name on sight - and they loathe me.

    3. However, they can do ZERO about it (I've never spent one day in jail or been arrested) because they're not interested in ending up on the ass end of a 42 USC 1983 lawsuit.

    4. You'll screech I'm a liar - SO WHAT.

    5. By the by, that was an absolutely fabulous costume you wore for your shooting videos. You looked like a real dandy in the black hi-tops with white soles and matching black shirt with white shoulders. VERY tacticute!

    6. You better take it easy on those aluminum AR-15 magazines if you want them to continue functioning. Dumping them on stone is a real nice way to bend a lip. You should consider investing in some H&K steel magazines or at least some Magpul PMAGs.

    BYE darling!

  • @ForTheDefence80 Haha you just can't stay on topic and cant help but stalk my channel for dirt haha! I think its hilarious the amout of attention I get from you. I really think I've struck you're nerve more than all those other people on youtube you troll! That makes me happy hahaha! The magazines have been dropped for 10 years dont think they're gonna stop now! You have spend so much time on my channel and video It makes me proud! You trolls are just like kids; you say the darndest things haha!

  • @pdxjason503

    1. You're the boy spending time researching me on google. FUNNY.

    2. Are you a PIG, or do you just tea bag them on YouTube?

    3. The only thing sadder than 20 rd. magazines is 30 rd. magazines loaded with only 20 rds. of ammunition.

    4. Poor boy can't even afford to buy enough ammo to top off his ONE 30 rd. magazine. FUNNY.

    5. Poor boy also can't afford to buy enough ammo to top off his Glock 22 magazines. FUNNY.

    6. Poor boy can't afford an optical sight for his AR-15. FUNNY.

    Bye!

  • @ForTheDefence80 Haha seriously you have even counted the rounds in my magazines thats funny and shows me how much time you've spent on me! Whats even more funny is you can't even stay on topic just like a troll. You must have watched my video 20 times within the last week! That cracks me up hahaha! You try so hard to break me and get me pissed off hahaha! But it just doesn't work hahaha! I love it!

  • @pdxjason503

    1. I've watched each of your two videos twice.

    2. You've googled my channel name and read my posts from months ago - that cracks me up!

    3. You're boring and repetitious. If you can't come up with something better than ad nauseum calling me a troll I'm going to stop speaking to you.

    4. You dodged answering the question of whether you're a LEO. Are you girlfriend?

    BYE!

  • Cops are required to give there name rank and where they are stationed. I think he asked the wrong question.

  • retard

  • ummmmmm I have the right to ask you for your badge number..... LOLOLOLOLOL

  • why are you giving this cop such a hard time? so unnecessary

  • A lot of the CHP are assholes. Fuckin cops.

  • this is what i hear from my boss at work, if a stupid ass mother of #!@# ask you something really stupid, please calm down, dont kill him.. relax...uff....

  • I guess the CHP is above the law; at least, they think they are, and this one in particular.

  • Looks like you're just looking for attention just like all the other cop watchers out there. Dont have enough drama in you're lifes so you have to dig into someone elses huh. Troll.

  • @pdxjason503 wrote, "Looks like you're just looking for attention just like all the other cop watchers out there. Dont have enough drama in you're lifes so you have to dig into someone elses huh. Troll."

Troll? You're the cunt cruising CopWatch videos and whining about them like a little bitch.

You're also the cunt calling a Colt 6920 an M4, which it is not. An M4 has a 14.5" barrel and is selective fire while your 6920 has a 16" barrel and is semi-auto only. So, you're a cunt AND a liar.

  • Comment removed

  • @ForTheDefence80 umm dude your dumbass. M4 is like the most common nick name for AR15 rifles lmao. It is mostly used as a nickname cause AR15's are M4 style rifles so people say "M4" they do not mean a actual M4. Millions of people refer to them as M4s. hickok45 who is the most common gun guy on youtube refers to his own ar15 as an "M4". My guess is you know nothing about guns! Google must have failed you on that one!

  • @grsw5906

    1. Who gives a fuck what Hickok45 calls his AR-15. If he calls it an M4 he is wrong, if he calls it an M4 style rifle then he is right.

    2. Hickok is not "the most common gun guy on youtube," the correct answer is FPSRussia.

    3. I've forgotten more about guns than you've ever known. Including that your channel name is partly based upon the S&W model 5906. Stainless steel with most having fully adjustable rear sights protected by stainless "ears."

    4. Now, go get fucked moron.

  • @ForTheDefence80 LMAO your cracking me up! the M4 your thinking of is not called M4 it is called M4A1 DUMB SHIT. A M4A2 is a AR15 and a M4A1 is a full auto military rifle. YOU'RE WRONG and just going on google to learn about guns is not helping you. If you google the word "M4" and go under shopping it pops up a whole bunch of AR15s LMAO at you!!! Hickok is not wrong you are!!! What your thinking of is actually called a M4A1 DUMBASS!!! Both are M4's!!!! You're the only one whos wrong DOUCHE!

  • 1 of 2

    @grsw5906

    1. Oh wow. Your expertise has been gained by googling "M4" under the "shopping" option.

    2. You seem to believe that accusing me of using google to learn about firearms (which I haven't) is going to make me all weepy - it won't. On the other hand, you are googling "M4" and using the "shopping" tab to bolster your incorrect argument - LMAO!

    3. As to the "M4" and "M4-A1," the difference is "S-1-3" versus "S-1-A." Both trigger groups are selective-fire, as I previously stated.

  • @ForTheDefence80 Man wish I was in a state that would let me keep my AR15s(im now in CA). But the AR15 is in the M4 family created by Eugene Stoner who was in some company I think called Arlight or Army Lite?(where the AR comes from)They are two different types of guns in the M4 family. Theres nothing wrong with calling a AR a M4 its just a slang term and actual group name Just like calling a BMW 325i a 300 series. Working at Colt I've heard this too many times. They're is many more terms too :(

  • 1 of 2

    @copwatchify

Actually, Eugene Stoner worked for the Armalite Division of the Fairchild Aircraft Corp. (designer/manufacturer of the A-10 "Warthog") and the rifle he designed (for the U.S.A.F.) was called the AR-15. The original AR-15's charging handle was inside the carry handle and it did not have a forward bolt assist.

    2. The AR-15 became the M-16 when adopted by the U.S. military. The M-16's charging handle was moved to its current location with no chrome lining of chamber/barrel.

  • @ForTheDefence80 ArmaLite!!! now its coming back to me. unfortunately I know all of this too well after having to install thousands of charging handles, gas piston, and bolts myself. I miss these firearms but I do love working in video productions. Who knows though one day soon maybe Ill own another one :)

  • 2 of 2

    @copwatchify

    3. The AR-15 that Eugene Stoner designed was a selective-fire assault rifle.

    4. As such, all M16s and M4s are actually "children" of Eugene Stoner's AR-15 assault rifle design.

    5. M4s are based upon M16s with the barrel shortened to 14.5", a collapsible buttstock and extended feed ramps built into the barrel/chamber to aid feeding from the two-position detachable box magazine.

  • @ForTheDefence80 Liar huh?I know what my 6920 is, I own it. We know our AR15s are not M4 we just typically refer to them as M4 does not mean we think they are and you know it. And what does my AR15 have to do with the comment I wrote on this video? Nothing, thats defining the word "Troll". And I dont have any problem with cop watch or cop watch videos but I if I see one that has no point to it Im going to say something. The only cunt is you and stalking my channel to get dirt is just pathetic.

  • 2 of 2

    @pdxjason503 wrote, "Liar huh?"

    Yes, LIAR.

@pdxjason503 wrote, "... I dont have any problem with cop watch or cop watch videos ...."

Yet, in your first post you wrote "Looks like you're just looking for attention just like all the other cop watchers out there. Dont have enough drama in you're lifes so you have to dig into someone elses huh. Troll."

So, you're not only a cunt AND proven liar, you're also a fucking imbecile too stupid to keep your lies straight.

    SAD LITTLE DUMMY.

  • @ForTheDefence80 Hahaha you get so mad I love it. Why would I have a problem with cop watchers wanting attention? Not like they're recording me fool! As I already said what bothers me is posting stupid videos. Find me a good cop watch video(havent seen one yet though)Keep digging troll. BTW this is the part where you're suppose to call me a nigger! You already said cunt and liar and we're way past the dummy word. When you get out of the 2nd grade hit me up, we can go to disneyland together haha

  • @pdxjason503

I'm not mad at all. Are you really so simple that you think somebody has to be "mad" to call someone else a cunt, liar and imbecile? Probably so.

I have no idea why you dislike cop watchers, but as I quoted YOU from YOUR earlier post you obviously do.

Troll? You're the doucher trolling copwatch vids and posting nasty comments to the copwatcher. You're the troll.

Nigger? Why would I call anyone a nigger - it's a pathetic non-sequitor by you.

    Disneyland? No, Disneyworld's better.

    BYE!

  • @ForTheDefence80 Hahahaha you're mad and pathetic. It truely bothers you Im not impressed with cop watchers! Maybe if they would record cops acting badly instead of just doing thier jobs I would change my mind. Doucher and simple? I like those words a lot but I feel you're holding back on me after all we've been through! Haha doucher is a step up from dummy though! And FYI its "sequitur" not sequitor!!! Hey you can call me a grammer freak now hahaha. Hey man what about fat? Yay disneyworld haha!

  • @pdxjason503

    1. I'm neither mad nor pathetic (at least no more pathetic than you).

    2. I also don't care whether you like copwatchers, but you are trolling their videos.

    3. Doucher and simple are all you merit. You'll have to work MUCH harder to earn my genuine hate and bile.

    4. I'd give you credit for correcting me on my misspelling of "sequitur," but I know you caught it only because you had to look up its meaning so - no credit for you!

    5. Fat? Another simpleton non-sequitUr.

    BYE!

  • @ForTheDefence80 " I also don't care whether you like copwatchers, but you are trolling their videos."

LOL -- copwatchers are the ulimate trolls.. they deliberately try and provoke police to get a reaction ( which is what trolls do)

  • @ForTheDefence80 Okay copwatcher how about you call me a "hater"? Or a "Copwatcher Nazi"! Yeah that sounds better! Hahaha! You're slacking man with these comments man! Can we go back to you calling me cunt please? You're not the only one who knows how to spell non-sequitur(well you spelled it wrong so I guess you dont count)! Besides it meaning It is also the name of a popular comic in the newspaper. Pathetic attempt to insult me but PLEASE keep trying! I never knew trolls were so funny hahaha.

  • @pdxjason503

    1. I'm not a copwatcher, but you are a sad little thing trolling copwatch videos.

    2. "Hater" or "Copwatcher Nazi?" Nope, mostly just "loser."

    3. HaHaHa, LOL, blahblahblah.

    Bye.

  • @ForTheDefence80 Haha you're the biggest police/copwatcher trolls on youtube! You left tons of comments on videos of police according to a youtube search thats pretty much all you ever do on youtube haha! Why do you hate the police so much? My guess is either a cop locked up your mommy/daddy or he stuck something so far up you're ass you can't walk straight! You're favorite words are loser and cunt lol so middle school! Hit me up when you grow up though we could manage youtube togerther hahaha!

  • @pdxjason503

    1. Your infatuation with me is touching. I've hit a nerve haven't I dear.

    2. Trolling is cruising videos to make negative comments about the video/video makers. That's what you do with copwatcher videos.

    3. Nope, despite the hackneyed assertions that I (or a relative) must have been locked up or sodmized by a LEO, that has never happened.

    4. Your favorite words are "hahaha" and "LOL." So elementary school.

    5. Hit me back when your lonely heart next compels you.

    BYE sweetie!

  • A cop can ask for ID all he wants. He doesn't need PC. But you can also refuse, unless they have actually stopped you, and need it. If they walk up to you and ask you for no apparent reason, they can ask all day long, and you can refuse all day long.

  • lol

  • the fact he didn't care to respond to this violators obnoxious request for his badge number is irrelevent. too bad so sad you got caught driving while extremely expired on your registration for that super expensive 1989 Honda prelude collectors item or were just exercizing your "right" to drive while unlicensed or better yet suspended or revoked and is now obviously getting your trash towed. Its a priveledge and not a right so go cry to you momma.

  • It's dumb fuckers like the one that recorded this video that make it harder for police officers to respect others rights because they get harrased because some dick bag thinks that they can have information on some random cop, when he's not even doing anything pertaining to him.

  • All executive, legislative, and judicial employees are required to have an oath of office to the constitutions [U.S. and State]. Ask for proof of claim they have their oath and bond. Have a public servants questionnaire ready. Arrest him for impersonating a peace officer [cal. PEN §837-private arrest] after 3rd refusal to show delegation of authority.

  • He didn't refuse, you just had to read the report. You have access to it so dont play dumb.

  • All u dumb fucks that say "why is he asking for a badge number if it aint legal and and all this other bullshit", just so u fuckn know and get the knowledge it is LEGAL upon request for an officer to give his badge number. Just cause its on the fuckn report doesnt mean shit. I know this for a fact because i major in Administration of Justice. STUPID IGNORANT FUCKS!!

  • @EeeDubObee you right,we have the right to ask for their badge number.

  • All u dumb fucks that say "why is he asking for a badge number if it aint legal and and all this other bullshit", just so u fuckn know and get the knowledge it is LEGAL upon request for an officer to give his badge number. Just cause its on the fuckn report doesnt mean shit. I know this for a fact because i major in Administartion of Justice. STUPID IGNORANT FUCKS!!

  • @EeeDubObee "just so u fuckn know and get the knowledge it is LEGAL upon request for an officer to give his badge number"

So?? that means the officer is legally allowed to give his badge number -- not that it is complusory or that he is obligated to do so.

  • Well, he may be legally allowed to ask, but that doesn't mean the cop is legally obligated to give it, especially when there's no reason to do so.

We don't know why he's asking for the badge number, and there's no description of the video...it looks like he just has it in for cops and is trying to harass the one in this video.

  • Uh, WHY is moron boy asking the cop for a badge number?

Never mind, I can TELL ya why? Because he's some punk that THINKS he knows the law, and just wants to annoy a cop trying to do his job.

A cop does NOT have to give you his badge number any time you walk up and demand it. Not in any State that I'm aware.

Should've arrested him for interefering with a police officer in the performance of his lawful duty.

  • Why would you ever consent to a search of your vehicle?

  • I would have arrested him for impeding pedestrian traffic on a sidewalk.

  • Shut the fuck up and dont make a fool out of yourself by asking the same question over and over again. You will get the badge # on the report, what part of that did you not understand? Jesus Christ.

  • Rode along with a CHP officer years ago, badge number never came up. Outside of the officer I rode with, nobody else I knew in LE respected CHP (they all used the acronym to mean "cant handle policework). Officer not required to give you his badge number.

  • >dude pulls out camera

    >annoys cop within 5 seconds of hitting play

    >is not even part of the case

    >cop is an asshole

    wat?

  • people that ask for badge numbers are gay

  • It's on the ticket dumb ass.

  • use the zoom button on your camera and read it off the badge.

  • This guy sounds like a lazy fuck lol, trying to get a badge number.

  • "uh, er, i have the right to ask you for your badge number.." haha. yeah, and since hes not fucking talking to you, he doesnt have to tell you shit. stupid fuck.

  • You are a fucking child. Why did you need his badge number? I would have arrested your smart ass for obstruction.

  • I'm sure it written on the ticket you dumbass.

  • @gamberbob34 he doesn't have the right to refuse to give his badge number. Upon request police officers must show proper identification as well as a request for a badge number.

  • @300Dylan

I doubt it, that would be like asking a person if they are police and that they have to answer truthfully, which they don't. Do you have a law citation?

  • @300Dylan "he doesn't have the right to refuse to give his badge number. "

he didnt refuse -- he correctly said that was on the ticket..

  • @300Dylan "Upon request police officers must show proper identification as well as a request for a badge number"

Not really - espically if it has nothing to do with you..

Likewise cops need probably cause to ask someone for ID -- they cant just walk up to random people for no reason and demand ID...

  • @badpanda84 I agree with everything except for the last part. Cops only need reasonable suspicion, not probable cause(way more than reasonable suspicion), to ask for ID. Pretty substantial difference in court.

  • @badpanda84 Probable Cause, nice try though

  • @badpanda84 What do you mean "hey cant just walk up to random people for no reason and demand ID..." That has happened to me plenty times. And dont try to say there was a reason because i know there was no reason i was there

  • @TheAssburgher OK I probably should repharse that.

In THEORY people can't walk up to randon people and demand ID --- Likewise in THEORY the police officer must show ID --

Of course in reality it dosent work like that.

  • @badpanda84 they don't need permission in Arizona if you "look like" an immigrant.

and for the dude who made the video the fact of police being required to give badge numbers is actually not a law. its up to the discretion of that specific departments policy. yeah it cant hurt to ask but honestly wont help you in the long run considering it doesn't give you much power. especially if they're just doing they're job.

  • @badpanda84 Where r u getting your info from ??? because it is false.

  • @SuperCaddy16 which part is false -- cops dont have to give out ther badge number to randoms... for privacy reasion..

OR are you saying that cops dont need probably cause to ask for ID..

  • @badpanda84 yet they do.............

  • @badpanda84 Cops can not ask for your I.D. unless you are involved with a crime!!!

  • @GUALLACOL Sure they can.. as long as the have probbly cause to belive you are invovled in a crime ( note that this dosent mean they have to have 100% proof you commited a crime)

  • @badpanda84 Basically what I've just said. Let me clarify: Cops can not ask for your I.D. unless you are involved with committing a crime, have committed a crime, going to commit a crime.

  • @GUALLACOL You miss my point -- probably cause is not the same as what you just described ( unless you are involved with committing a crime, have committed a crime, going to commit a crime.).

They only need to have some reason to suspect you are involved in a crime -- that is NOT the same as actually commiting a crime ( or going to commit a crime)

  • @badpanda84 wrote, "Likewise cops need probably cause to ask someone for ID -- they cant just walk up to random people for no reason and demand ID...[.]"

Actually, the police can ASK anybody for their I.D. anytime they want. That is called a consensual encounter and in those circumstances the person approached may declinen to produce I.D.

During a "Terry" stop the police may DEMAND your identification if they have reasonable suspicion that you have, are or are about to commit a crime.

  • @ForTheDefence80 OK but regardless my point is that a civlian can also ask for a badge number but the police may decline to provided there badge number.

  • @badpanda84 Actually your incorrect, you have every right to ask for their badge number and ID, for the same reason why cops will treat you suspiciously when you refuse to ID yourself. It draws question to whether that individual is even a cop, or whether he is doing something he knows is illegal. However in this case, the idiot recording was extremely stupid, because if his patrol car is there you just need to get the Plate ID or VIN number.

  • @xinecallaw "Actually your incorrect, you have every right to ask for their badge number and ID"

OK fine but they are not obligated to provide that information even if you ask--

But regardless the cop didnt refuse to give his badge number -- he clearly stated it was on the report.

  • @badpanda84 Well... in Sweden they can - but they rarely do it. But they have the right to pull cars over for no reason at all, really. And yes, they have the right to ask for ID.

  • @gamerbob34 No, they don't.

  • dude youre a douche

  • umm excuse me can i have your badge number please?

  • guy gets within 6 feet he'll get tazed

  • excuse me im a dip shit can i have ur badge number bc ur doing ur job in accordance with city statute

  • decimator22.. you like many other humans are simply fearful people who need love!

  • Did you ask him for a warrant?

  • Whiny little shit disturber. Should have carved his badge number across this assholes forehead backwards, so when he woke up and checked the damage that his big mouth caused, he'd have his badge number...If only it was that easy....

  • @n4sir8859 It is our right to see badge numbers and such.
