Oh, when Eric cries, I cry!! I wanna just reach out and give him a hug. Godric, is played by such a young man and you'd never know it..it's like he's the "father" to Eric.. this scene is really so touching!! I think that this is the moment that Sookie fell in love with Eric.

It's funny how Eric is supposed to be the cold hearted vampire and Bill is supposed to be the one that loves Sookie and it's a "nice guy" on the TV show. And it's curious because he has over 100 scenes being a "gentle" vampire, and you know it's all staged, while Eric has one or two scenes being vulnerable and you know it's real. That's why I personally think that Eric is a better person than Bill, he wears his heart on his sleeve, and I think that's really beautiful.

It was incredibly sincere for Sookie to ask Godric..."Are you very afraid?" Many people feel and wonder that about their god whether they admit it aloud. I also loved when she said "I'm afraid for you". Those 2 moments are beautiful...along with the knowing that he'll burn away as the music played.

Almost cried when i saw it. i dont know, it just touches me. an old vampire and his progdeny living eternity forever learning teaching each other until he decided it was enough. This is probably my favorite scene in True Blood, fantastic writing. We as the audience are sharing the same emotions as Sookie and witnessing something really surprising and beautifully sad. I love it when Godric asks how God will punish him and you can really see the hope in his face. Then when he see's Sookie crying is just beautiful. Great acting! Call me corny, but this scene is intense and watching someone as vicious as Eric be brought to tears because of his unshakable loyalty to his maker is moving. Godric was so awesome of a character. He came across as humble and unassuming yet if you were in his presence, you would not dear fuck with him. He didn't need the charade of trying to intimidate you. Simply being in front of him put you in your place. That's fucking power.

Godric may very well be one of the most interesting characters in True Blood which I consider a mediocre show(still haven't even watched season 3 nor 4).

But well the actor performing him is good enough and character not only presents the utterly old and powerful being but also good. It's a shame we haven't seen him more time. I'd love to see some more flashbacks from his gaul and roman times. If at least this show had decent directors..oh well..

Godric said because of his age that it wouldn't take long for the sun to kill him. However Russell Edgington who was older than Godric was out in the sun forever with Eric, and yet never died as a result of the sun.

@SenseiDonGraham Russell had Sookie's blood which works as a temporary sunscreen, and then slows down the burning. In fact after a while both he and Eric started to burn, albeit slower than they would normally. They WOULD have ultimately died if Sookie hadn't taken them inside.
