  • This is a model of the 42" long, 1:1/8 scale models of the Fairey Huntsman 28' yachts. Kit was by Veron Models of England.. I have the one of these all-wood boats kits that I built in 1981. Mod Mine is now powered by a brushed Astro Flight Marine 40 geared 1.63:1 running on 8 lipo cells. Top speed measured last week at 21.1 mph on 975 watts input.

  • Hi terry4144, can you tell me what the differences are? Both models seem to have been built in a range of configurations with regard to cockpit, aft cabin etc. Even on the Fairey Owners site the differences are not obvious!

  • @srcmbc the stern is different the swordsman does not flare out at the bottom and has a more curved transom and the hull is a deeper v on the swordsman a very different boat but similar in the cabin area

  • @terry4144 Thanks for the info, it makes sense that they provided different hull shapes with very similar choices of cockpit layout. its difficult to change whats already there but I'll be able to be more accurate in future!

  • this is a huntsman not swordsman
