Odd, I got out of bed today and for some reason I recalled this video; and it struck me: John, with his religious background believes charity should fulfills a sense of Christian duty/ethic and be initiated by shame or guilt maybe his point is that modern advertising of charities lays emphasis on these two burdens; perhaps the only effective way of motivating them is to cajole them in this way. Or a barrage of intellectualism that makes the viewer fell they are stupid and must repent for it.
