@garmonyjasmine11 actually, auburn is closer to a reddish-orange the color she used is by dark&lovely and how she did it is in the description box. her color is closer to a bright reddish burgundy color.

@garmonyjasmine11 The best thing would be to color it before you start locking then do touch ups afterwards. If you want to color after locking it will be a little more tricky. I did my tips yesterday and i bleached them before i colored. I will be doing a review of the color rinsed i used and will be showing my results today. Please take a look at it and i will answer all the questions i can.

OMG!! Your locs are so effin pretty!! I want my locs to be your color but I have very dark black hair. I have a rinse in it now but its only visible under sunlight with the right angle lol....i've been told that to get the red color i want, i would have to bleach my hair! Lord knows i don't want to do that lol but i might have to! Did you have yours bleached and then dyed it? or Did you used a product that gave you the color you wanted without actually going through the whole bleaching process?

@sabney1989 Hey! :) I've been natural all my life, too, and I started locs for the first time about 9 months ago. My hair's thick and probably a little shorter than yours and I started with comb coils. My hair's longer than most people who start with comb coils, but I was still glad that I chose this method. You experience more unraveling than with twists, but they do start to look like locs faster, as with twists you have to wait for the twist pattern to disappear. Hope this helps. :)

Is dyeing your hard bad at all for your dreads? I have weird hair with like a lot of different shades of brown in it and was thinking about dyeing it a solid black or dark brown.

@VictorAlxYork Try a rinse, or a semi-permanent dye. Or better yet henna (which is a natural conditioner/dye). Since it's full of protein, it will naturally strengthen your hair while coloring it.

In order of quality, ease of use, etc, I recommend: Surya first, and then Light Mountain second.
