There was already heat between Peter Marshall & Bert Convy prior to all this fiasco to begin with.He didn't paint a pretty picture of Bert in his biography anyway.
@ericandy88 At this point Peter Marshall was getting ready to sue Bert Convy and his company for screwing him out of the show (he had to drop the charges when Convy was diagnosed with brain cancer).
:43 to :54, I think that's the crucial bit of the illusion -- notice how the guy is stage front of the lady, and she appears to be doing something with the feet. Still, I'm not sure where his actual legs went, but wherever they went, that's when it happens.
strange thing was that Peter Marshall was supposed to host this show, but he got nixed at the last minute by Bert and Burt Productions, so he was gonna sue them and take them to court. But Marshall dropped the suit when Bert fell ill.
I bet if Peter Marshall was around, he'd be explaining the rules really fast on this show like he did on HS:
"The object of you people is not to cut the host across, up and down, or diagonally! It's up to you to not cut the host or you'll get a big fat lawsuit from me and that's how it's gonna go!" LOL!

Bert says, "Get my lawyer on the phone." If he only knew how deadly ironic that would be.

I remember when this show aired in the aftertoon (around 4 PM?) on WBZ-TV Boston back in the 1989-90 tv season.

Anyone know who the blonde celeb is? Looks to me like either Ilene Graff or Sally Struthers.

Perhaps if the show was still on the air by the time Bert felt ill, then Peter might've finally gotten the chance.

Yes, and Bert Convy's last; he would die in 1991.
