I have two of them I picked up for about $40.00 each on EBay. I love them. For a cheap engine they run real smooth. Only thing is slow speeds you hear that low voltage hum, but I can live with that. I'm a switcher guy and they fit right in my roster! Mike Rapp

I think both my Proto 1's I paid about $90.00 each. The F40 is my favorite of all my motive power. I want to get a dummy to go with it.
