  • they're not that fat either.

  • I have to wear a black leotard (any style) light pink or White tights, full sole leather ballet shoes with the bows tucked in, and a sheer wrap skirt (optional.) our hair has to be in a bun, but mine is to short for even a ponytail, so I have to wear a headband and pull my bangs back.

  • I really do prefer the thiest possible tght's, it's just so much easier to work in. Don't you agree? lol

  • I don't know if this has been posted, but she forgot to to include a dance belt as what a male dancer should wear underneath their tights. Very important!

when did you star ballet ?

  • @BugsBunny629 it is never too late to start it. if there is a will there is a way. obviously the older you are the less chance of making it your profession but dance should be done for the passion of it, not the money :)

  • you know how your wearing hoops; well, my ballet instructor ALWAYS tells us, NO HOOPS or any kind of big necklaces or earingss. because if your turning or somethingg and someone accidentally grabs or gets caught in your jewelry, your most likely srewed.. lmao. just makein a point for all ballet dancerss♥

  • i wear a black leotard short sleave no skirt tan tighys and pink ballet shoes

  • yeahh i agreee im not allowed to wear hoops . u cud get like seriously hurt it happened to me... not goood!

  • Glad to know I'm not the only one bothered by her hoops. XD

  • they should also be wearing NO JEWLERY AT ALL!!! meaning big huge hoop earings!

  • dancers do not wear huge loopy earrings though. that has accident written ALL over it... I've heard WAY too many horror stories to do that. :(

  • Oh goodness...When I was....12 or 13, our gymnastics coach's daughter (who was 17ish?) wore dangle earrings to our practice. She was only walking to tell her mom something, went under the bar wire, her earring got caught on the wire, and, well, you can guess what happened. She had stitches to say the least. Gross!

  • all male ballet dancers must wear a padded dancebelt and slip a support cup insidethis is what they are ment to wear underneath their thong leotard and footed tights

  • I've long wondered why the tights are different for guys and girls, material wise that is.

  • I wears...

    Classical ballet:

Torquise leotards, pink tights, pink ballet slippers

    Character Ballet:

Torquise leotard, pink tights, character skirt and character shoes.

  • what is character ballet? :)

  • character ballet uses character skirts, character shoes and a ballet leotard. it is also a considered classical ballet. i dunnoe how to explain, but aren't u a ballerina and u dont kno?

  • nope i'm not a ballerina but i'm starting lessons soon so that's why i'm watching these videos.

  • @FionaJacqueline

oh...character ballet is included in all grades and lessons :)

  • i wear navy leotard, pink tights, stain ballet ful sole shoes and character shoes and skirt!!lol tho i live i the uk so its differnet here then ova in the usa!! and i also have a navy hir scrunchie to go with it! im also starting ballet next month, grade 3,look at my page 2 find out! im 16 btw!!xxxxxxx

  • nope. underwear gets in the way.

  • I never understood whate purpose of a ballet skirt?

  • its cute.

  • Heh Heh I'm a ballet sinner! >=D

I have holes in my tights, my leotard us stained, I wear a jacket (short sleeve) sometimes, and I have maroon shoes believe it or not.

  • geez! i wear soffees and a black leotard without sleeves :o i'm evil >=)

  • lol "men shuld come in in tights"

we r doin beauty and the beast 4 a ballet recital and the guy who does gaston comes in with a t-shirt and some jean capris on showin his hairy wolf legs all over da place lol

  • Are you kidding me no holes in the tights what does she think we are rich after paying tuition buying ballet slippers and pointe shoes I dont have money to spend on a new pair of tights everytime they get a hole in it. Man she is annoying

  • who would ask this question? lol

    i guess its helpfull though

  • haha i know! "clean & neat clothes, no holes in your tights ladies" thats deffinately not a rule where i go or anywhere i have ever danced. that would get waayy too expensive to have to buy new tights so there were no holes in them. in my opinion, if you have holes or rips in your tights it means your a good dancer haha :)

  • I don't get new tights until like some performance or something, which explains why I always have two. One is full of holes and the other one is the "nice + new" one.. but other than that, there's no "NO HOLE" rule in everyday class! and totally agree!!

  • pshh "no holes in your tights ladies" well yeah...at performances. but it really doesnt matter at class. people at my class (including me) have holes in their tights. u'd have to buy new tights like every month if that was a rule

  • I only ever wear pink. And if men have long hair they should also place into a bun to keep off face

  • yeah it should be the dancers choice i where a pink leotard becuse im in master ballet class

  • Mmhmm. I wear a burgundy leotard, or a black halter one. It really doesn't matter, but this lady is making a big deal of it like it's going to be exactly the way she describes it anywhere we go. But in reality, that's just what SHE wears. And some other people. But not everyone.

  • She said "most" Implying that not all ballet schools will be strict about it, I mean some have their own uniform, so stop being so stuck up and childish and grow up.

  • Calm your face, love. I did not say it in an offensive way.

  • my teacher tells us 2 were wat we r comphortabe in..... i were soccer shorts and a tee shirt.... and im a girl!!!!!! we dont have to have our hair up either!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool

  • I agree, i wear the same :)

  • i like the look. i always have.

  • CAN YOU GUYS STOP? goodness, shes just stating the general idea. who cares about the colors . she says USUALLY not always kay?

  • what if men have long hair?

  • Cool but in MY ballet class we wear navy uniforms and no skirts

I wish we were allowed to wear tutus instead of a uniform though

  • this is not true about the black leotard- i wear a light blue leotard with a blue belt. well, i m only grade 1. i SUCK at doing ballet buns

  • Well, she did say it may differ from studio to studio and it really does.

  • how i hate those dance belts

  • I think it should be the dancers choice

  • I think the studios that require women not to wear skirts are best - it shows off the body to better effect.

  • I agree.

  • Men must also wear a dance belt beneath their tights.
